エータロー
Located a few houses down from the intersection of Imadegawa Street and Omiya Street, heading north on Omiya Street past the fire station, you'll find this soba restaurant. The exterior looks like a typical soba shop. It is open from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and does not operate at night. It is a popular spot with a line forming outside. When I visited around 2:00 PM, there were 6 people waiting in front of the shop, but the turnover of customers was good, and I was able to get inside in about 10 minutes. Inside, there were customers of all ages and genders, making me feel that this soba shop is loved by the local community. There are 8 tables inside, creating a typical soba shop atmosphere. Most dishes are priced at 1,000 yen or less, making it very affordable. I ordered the soba set for 1,000 yen. You can choose between warm or cold soba, and I chose the cold soba, which turned out to be zaru soba. It came with a bento box with tuna sashimi and shrimp fry, making it a great deal for 1,000 yen. Although it's a soba shop, the tuna sashimi was delicious. The soba was thin and elegant, with a smooth texture that goes down the throat and gets absorbed into the stomach. However, I couldn't taste much of the soba flavor, which was a bit disappointing. This shop is known for its soba set and tendon soba set. The next day, I revisited and ordered the tendon soba set for 950 yen. Again, there were 2 groups waiting outside. The tendon was so voluminous that the tempura overflowed the bowl, which was truly surprising. The tempura was wrapped in egg and the sauce reached the bottom of the bowl, which was great. The tempura batter was crispy and delicious. The soba was warm wakame soba, but it was not as impressive.
