While running around the area of Miyake, I usually pass by the overpass, but decided to change things up and take the side road where I spotted a lunch sign waving in the wind. The ground floor of a house-like building seemed to be a shop, so I parked my car and peeked inside. The atmosphere looked nice, so I decided to visit and parked in the adjacent parking lot. The parking lot can fit about 5 cars, but if it's full, you can park in front of the wall (see photos for details). Next to the entrance, they were selling vegetables apparently harvested from their own garden, so I had high hopes for fresh produce. Inside, there were about 8 tables and a counter with 5 seats, and the staff seemed to be the male chef and the female server, possibly the owners. I sat at a single table and ordered the daily lunch special for ¥650, which today was teriyaki chicken, limited in quantity. The customers seemed to be office workers and local elderly people, indicating that the place is popular in the neighborhood. After about 10 minutes of waiting while listening to FM radio, the food was served. The main dish came with soup, a small side dish, and rice, giving off a substantial impression. The soup, in particular, was served in a large bowl, which got me excited. The warm wakame seaweed soup was quite tasty and easy to drink. The teriyaki chicken main dish was thick and topped with a homemade-looking yellow tartar sauce, providing a satisfying eating experience. The freshness of the lettuce and watercress on the side was noticeable, likely picked fresh from the backyard garden. The macaroni side dish was decent, and the fried eggplant side dish was a delightful addition. The rice was cooked well, had good flavor, and the portion was satisfying. The pickles served on the side also left a pleasant aftertaste. Overall, the lunch had good value for money, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was nice, with parking available. Rating: 4 stars (78/100).
