February 5, 2014, on a weekday night. My husband said, "I want to eat choboyaki," so we visited the restaurant for the third time. We ordered the Chobo Toku Set Mambo (squid) - I had a draft beer, and my husband had water. We always seem to order the same thing, but maybe it's because the set menu offers a good deal. There were two groups of customers when we arrived and one group came in later. Thank you for the meal.
August 12, revisited the restaurant. We arrived before 7 pm on a weekday, and there were no other customers. However, a few people came to pick up their takeout orders. It felt like a neighborhood favorite spot. This time, we ordered the "Chobo Toku Set" that seemed like a good deal. The set included salad, sujiyaki, pork pay, potato fries, and choboyaki. We also ordered yakisoba (pork & squid), ginger ale, draft beer, and blueberry liquor. The meal started with edamame. The total cost for my husband and me was 4330 yen. The salad had grated radish with ponzu dressing, which was refreshing and delicious. The pork pay had a good balance of cabbage sweetness. The yakisoba portion was a bit small, more like a side dish for drinks. If you want a substantial meal or are dining with a group, it's better to order a large portion or choboyaki yakisoba (for 3 people). The choboyaki was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal.
August 18, updated evaluation.
June 22, visited the restaurant again. The atmosphere of the place is more like enjoying okonomiyaki while having drinks rather than focusing on the drinks. My husband doesn't drink alcohol, so he's not a fan of izakayas or bars. I suggested going to a choboyaki restaurant because I saw it on Tabelog, and he agreed to go. However, it turned out to be different from the choboyaki he knew, so we ended up ordering regular okonomiyaki and yakisoba. He was excited to try it because he wanted to taste it. It turned out that the taste was very similar to what he remembered from his childhood. It was like a nostalgic B-class gourmet from Minami Ward. Unfortunately, it seems that there are hardly any places that serve this style of choboyaki. The restaurant mentioned that they relocated from Senbon, but it seems that the owner is a true Minami Ward local. I later found out that he is the younger brother of an acquaintance's husband. When I told my acquaintance that the food was delicious, she said, "Didn't you know about it?" It seems like I have discovered another restaurant that I want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
