I visited this place for the first time for lunch on February 4th. I wanted to drink coffee more than eat, so I chose this place. I ordered curry because they were out of pork cutlet, and also ordered coffee for after the meal. The curry tasted like something I've had before, like it was from a retort pouch. However, the coffee was really delicious.

The delicious coffee warmed up my freezing body as I descended from rainy Mount Hiei.

This is a coffee shop called "Colorado" near Ichijoji Shugakuin Station in Kyoto. I saw that they were serving a morning set while out for a walk, so I decided to go in. The coffee shop has a nostalgic atmosphere, like a Showa-era coffee shop. I ordered the morning set for 590 yen. The salad was simple with boiled eggs and fresh vegetables. The toast was crispy and fragrant, very delicious. The coffee was rich and aromatic, truly a coffee shop's coffee. It really wakes you up. The small milk cup was so nostalgic... I can't believe there are still places using these cups. The customers in the shop were mostly older. I enjoyed my coffee slowly and then left. Ah, it was so nostalgic.

When I visited the Shugakuin Imperial Villa, I found that there were few eateries nearby, and if the timing was bad, I couldn't find a seat right away. However, there is a café near the station. It's a typical old-fashioned café run by an elderly couple, with no designated non-smoking area, so it may be smoky depending on the timing. The restroom is located outside and requires a key (Japanese-style). I ordered the curry for 570 yen. The curry comes in a traditional oval-shaped deep container and tastes good and is cheap. It might have been better to order the coffee set for 850 yen. It's affordable, convenient, and easy to use. They also serve morning sets early in the morning, so it might be convenient for the first visit of the day.

On April 13, 2017, after visiting the matchmaking power spot, Sagimori Shrine, we stopped by the Colorado Shugakuin Station store. There were three of us in the afternoon. It was a café. We had the Colorado Blend coffee. The store was spacious and relaxing, with few customers. The elderly master, dressed in a bow tie and vest, seemed to be running the place alone. The restroom required a key and was located outside the store. The coffee... the Colorado Blend was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On October 25, 2014 (Saturday), I used this cafe for breakfast while on a business trip. It's a valuable cafe that opens for breakfast in the suburbs on weekend mornings. It's located in a small building near Shugakuin Station, facing the road. The friendly master was running the shop while chatting with acquaintances from the neighborhood. The atmosphere was relaxed and heartwarming. I ordered the chicken pilaf and coffee set, which cost 870 yen including tax. It may be a bit pricey for a breakfast set, but the master's gentle demeanor and the Kyoto-like hospitality made me feel very comfortable. It was like going back to my hometown. The pilaf was simple but tasty, and the coffee was rich and delicious. If I have another business trip in this area, I would definitely consider stopping by again.
