During the Night Aquarium event, there is a special event called "Night Aquarium" where you can spend time with sea creatures in a fantastical setting unique to the night. On the event days, after 5 p.m., jellyfish wind chimes are lit up. Along with this light-up display, you can enjoy a special drink called "Glowing ★ Jellyfish Soda." It is a soda with glowing jellyfish-shaped cubes floating inside, available in two colors: beautiful blue (Blue Hawaii flavor with mixed berries) and red (Cassis flavor). You can even take home the glowing jellyfish cubes as a souvenir! The taste is like a mocktail, with a slightly bitter adult flavor that I personally love. It is a perfect soda for the fantastical atmosphere of the aquarium. The drink is only available at night, from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., at the Stadium Cafe for 680 yen each (tax included).
While the drink is only available at night, you can still enjoy a special limited-time dessert during the day. The "Jellyfish Invasion! Blue Soft Serve" is a refreshing ramune-flavored soft serve topped with jellyfish-shaped marshmallows and colorful, crunchy seaweed noodles resembling jellyfish tentacles. The soft serve is large, refreshing, and delicious, with the seaweed noodles adding a unique texture. It is perfect for a hot summer day. The dessert is available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Night Aquarium event days, at the Stadium Cafe for 580 yen (tax included). It is quite popular!

After watching the feeding of the garden eels, I had a light meal at the Stadium Cafe near the Dolphin Stadium entrance. I had onion soup takoyaki (600 yen including tax), which is takoyaki topped with cheese! Anything tastes delicious with cheese if you love cheese. The onion soup had a strong flavor. I enjoyed it while watching the dolphin training. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I also bought an annual pass, so I will come back to play again.

Shining ★ Jellyfish Soda 680 yen Blue (Blue Hawaii flavor) and Red (Cassis flavor) I thought it was a bit expensive, but you can take the jellyfish home. The atmosphere is nice so it's worth it.

Kyoto Aquarium has plenty of food menus that match its concept! There are many dining options, big and small, making it fun to eat around. Jellyfish Invasion! Blue Soft Serve! 580 yen. The seaweed crystal inspired by jellyfish is cute.

Kyoto Aquarium's dolphin show takes place at the Dolphin Stadium, where there is a snack bar located on the upper side. The show is like a musical with some sliding exercises, rather than the typical jumping performances. It seems that dolphin captivity is decreasing globally, raising concerns about the future of dolphin shows. As for the snacks, the pineapple-flavored soda with a dolphin stirrer was refreshing, while the potato fries were a bit salty and the chicken sticks were decent. However, the takoyaki was disappointing due to the noisy surroundings.

I visited the cafe in January 2018 for lunch near the dolphin show at the Kyoto Aquarium. They serve food and drinks, and I went there because they are hosting a cinnamon roll collaboration cafe until March 14th. You can use the free Wi-Fi anywhere in the aquarium. I ordered the cinnamon roll tea-soaked Oosanshouuo for 700 yen. The taste was a bit spicy. I had high expectations since I have been to the cinnamon roll cafe in Kawaramachi, Kyoto before, but I was disappointed. I wish they had put in more effort.

I visited Kyoto Aquarium for the first time (^o^)/ It was very crowded inside due to the Obon holiday period. Feeling tired from the crowds, I wanted something sweet to eat, so I stopped by here. It's more like a shop than a cafe. Soft serve ice cream for 310 yen. The chocolate and vanilla mix flavor was quite ordinary. However, the ice cream was very soft and started melting as I was eating it (^_^;) You need to eat it quickly or it will become a mess. It's a good place to take a break while exploring the aquarium. Thank you for the meal ★

-Kyoto Aquarium Dolphin Stadium Snack Stand-
During my visit in September 2015, I bought some snacks to enjoy while watching the dolphin show at Kyoto Aquarium. Here's what I got:
- A waffle topped with soft serve ice cream and matcha sauce
- Penguin takoyaki
- Grilled rice ball (my son really liked this one)
Visually, the penguin takoyaki was super cute, but the taste was so-so. The grilled rice ball was just microwaved, but my son loved it! The dolphin show was fun, but it was a bit tame compared to Adventure World. Overall, we had a great time and left satisfied.

2014.6 Revisited the aquarium with my child using the annual pass. For my child, the dolphin show and ice cream are a must. It was crowded on a Sunday with a long line at the snack shop. Had to give in to the constant chanting of "Ice cream, ice cream" from my child... Adults, of course, had beer instead. 2014.3 Despite having an annual pass, it had been a while since I last visited. Even though it was cold, my child still wanted soft serve ice cream. As usual, there was a long line at the shop right before the show. That day we had plans for a buffet dinner at a hotel, so I had to resist having beer at the dolphin show. 2013.10 Before revisiting, purchased an annual pass for the Kyoto aquarium. On a Sunday, decided to go with my family. My child, who loves fish, was thrilled sticking to the aquarium tanks. There was a display of a school of 5000 sardines in a large tank. An eagle ray was targeting the sardines that strayed from the school (laughs) skillfully pressing them against the tank glass to catch and eat them. Poor sardines... At the dolphin show, enjoyed beer as the accompaniment. Despite it being October, it was over 30 degrees that day. Hot, but beer tasted great! My child kept chanting "Ice cream, ice cream!" and got a cup of soft serve ice cream. Even if it melted, it was easy for my child to eat from a cup, more convenient than a cone. Original (2013.8) Shop inside the Kyoto aquarium. Shaved ice and light snacks were sold at the dolphin show venue. Visited the Kyoto aquarium before the Obon holiday. It wasn't as crowded as I thought, and we got a good spot for the dolphin show. It was incredibly hot. Started with a beer. Bought stick chicken as a snack. My wife had shaved ice. Beer disappeared quickly due to the heat (laughs). I wanted to have a second one, but it was still morning, so I held back. Stick chicken was a good snack. I wanted to try wearing the water splashing gift from the dolphins in the fourth row, but it wasn't before the holiday, so I refrained (laughs).

I visited the Kyoto Aquarium, which opened in March 2012. This is a cafe inside the aquarium. There are three cafes inside the Kyoto Aquarium, and this one is the second one along the route. It is located right after the dolphin stadium. It seems like a good idea to grab a drink here before heading to your seat to watch the dolphin performance. I ordered the "mochi-like fish kamaboko" and "French fries". I enjoyed them while watching the show from the viewing seats. There are also tables outside the stadium where you can eat. The French fries were crispy and not dry, unlike some other similar places. The fish kamaboko was warm and chewy, quite delicious with a flavorful seasoning. It may look plain, but it's actually quite tasty. Note: It gets very crowded at the beginning and end of the show, so it might be a good idea to buy your food a little earlier or later.

At the Kyoto Aquarium, satisfy your hunger at the "Stadium Cafe". ☆Fish sausage (400 yen)☆Fried potatoes (350 yen) There are three cafes in the Kyoto Aquarium. Among them, the Stadium Cafe is located near the dolphin show, making it a popular spot for those who want to grab a quick snack while watching the show. During the hot summer months, they also sell shaved ice. Enjoy a cold beer with fish sausage and fried potatoes while watching the dolphin show - it's a great experience!

In the Greenhouse at Umekoji Park, we had lunch and then headed to Kyoto Aquarium for a stroll in the park. The highlight of our visit was the dolphin performance, but unfortunately the 2 PM show was already full. We aimed for the next show at 3:30 PM. The aquarium is divided into 9 zones, allowing visitors to spend time in areas of interest. Each zone has its own attractions, such as the giant salamander in the Kyoto River Zone, seals and sea lions in the Marine Mammals Zone, penguins in the Penguin Zone, and a stunning large tank with various fish species. The aquarium also features coral reefs, interactive activities, and a dolphin stadium where we enjoyed a performance by the dolphins. Overall, the Kyoto Aquarium exceeded our expectations, offering a unique and enjoyable experience for both adults and children.

I bought a yuzu bowl from Kyoto E-maki Main Store at Kyoto Station, then rode a trolley from Saga Arashiyama Station to Kameoka Station, and took a bus to Kyoto Aquarium. On this day, the aquarium was open for night viewing until after 7:00 pm due to a private tour. They had a self-service shop in front of the dolphin stadium, where you could enjoy snacks and alcohol while watching the show. I bought a Dolphin Big Sandwich for 550 yen, which was surprisingly large and delicious with a gentle flavor. It had a slice of egg sandwiched between the bread. It was so big that I ended up saving half for the next day. Watching the dolphins perform was a delightful experience. I recommend enjoying some food and drinks while watching the show.

I finally infiltrated Kyoto Aquarium! It was quite enjoyable. I aimed to secure my seat for the dolphin show at 1:00 PM, but had about 20 minutes to spare, so I decided to grab a light snack. Everyone seemed to have the same idea. There was a bit of a line, but it moved fairly smoothly. Oh, they have "draft beer"! Since they had it, why not, right? Haha. And then I saw this great deal – the "Beer Set for 800 yen" included potato chips, 2 nuggets, and 2 chicken sticks. That settled it! With my seat secured, it was time to enjoy. Drinking draft beer during the day is just delicious, isn't it? The snacks were also quite tasty. For 800 yen at a facility like this, it's a pretty fair deal. I don't have anything else to say... The dolphins were so cute! Oh, I forgot to take a picture of the dolphins. Haha.
