In the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, Uji Tawara Town is famous for its tea production. Therefore, you can find many shops where you can try tea dumplings. I purchased tea dumplings for the first time at this shop. Tea dumplings are made with only matcha, sugar, and rice flour, making them a simple and delicious treat. These tea dumplings were very chewy with a nice sweetness, making them very easy to eat. Personally, I really enjoyed the taste. Thank you for the meal.

A tea shop right near Kutsukawa Station. They have delicious tea dumplings. They are chewy and the balance of matcha and sweetness is really tasty. In spring, they sell kashiwa mochi, and in June, they have minazuki. The kuzu mochi is not too sweet and delicious, it's my favorite.

To the north lies the city of Joyo, which borders Uji City, and it's no surprise that there is a high sensitivity to tea in this area. When I heard the term "Japanese tea" in Tokyo, it felt really fresh. After all, if it's produced in Japan, it's all Japanese tea, right? At least, we should distinguish between Gyokuro, Sencha, Hojicha, and Bancha when talking about it. Now, this shop is just a 2-minute walk west from Kuzuha Station, offering tea leaves and various tea snacks as well. However, the homemade tea dumplings are simply delicious. Although there is no seating area, you can buy them individually for 65 yen each. The beautifully dark green dumplings are visually appealing and have a perfect balance of tea flavor and sweetness. They are slightly larger than the popular Uji Kawamochi in Uji. Both are delicious, but my favorite is the tea dumplings from Joyo-en. Enjoying them at home with hot Sencha feels like it can relieve fatigue.
