It has become a tradition for me to eat parfait here, and I also enjoy my favorite Dutch coffee. I visited around 8:00 pm on a Friday with my friend Nabe-chan, and as usual, we were a bit drunk. I ordered the Matcha Jumbo parfait, and Nabe-chan got the Strawberry Jumbo. We had a great time chatting and finished our desserts. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I remembered about Kafune-ya when a request came in to go for a parfait at the second place for a late-night parfait. I hadn't been there in 30 years. When I was in high school, we all came here to have a parfait on the last day of exams. We looked forward to the celebration parfait to get through the exam period. After graduation, I didn't have the opportunity to go, and before I knew it, 30 years had passed. But Kafune-ya was still there, unchanged! It was truly moving. The menu is still full of options, and just choosing is exciting. The waiting time is also enjoyable as you look at the showcase in front of the register and think about what to order. I ordered one with mango soft serve, and it was delicious with only good elements.

I went to a night cafe! The variety of parfaits is endless! I had a banana chocolate and a honey yogurt parfait. There are so many choices like chocolate only or matcha only, it's hard to decide... Just seeing all the parfait samples lined up in the store makes me happy.

After shopping, I decided to have a parfait, but the other store was crowded and the parfaits were around 1600 yen each, so I came here instead. I couldn't tell the price from outside, so I nervously entered. There were various jumbo-sized parfaits displayed at the entrance, which looked amazing. I was guided to the second floor and looked at the menu, struggling to choose from the wide variety of parfaits - eventually deciding on one caramel, one fruit, and one Japanese-style parfait. Despite the crowd, they brought them to us quickly. The refreshing soft serve ice cream complemented the caramel flavor well. The mango and pudding parfait was something kids would love. The Japanese parfait had a great combination of warabi mochi and ice cream. The black honey and matcha parfait was a perfect match. I would love to come back and try a different parfait next time.

I arrived at the restaurant on Tuesday at 7:50 pm. The majority of the seats were taken, so I was seated at the counter. Interestingly, there were many foreigners today. I wonder if there was an event nearby or if they were just tourists. I ordered the fried chicken (600 yen) because I really wanted to eat it. When it arrived, I was surprised by how big it was. The dish was filled with 7 pieces of fried chicken that were about 4-5cm in size. The crispy texture of the batter and the thickness of the meat were perfect. It tasted great with the chili sauce provided. I also ordered the "Mori Mori Potato Fry Parfait" (1050 yen) which was surprisingly large. It had a tower of cherry, whipped cream, chocolate ice cream, cookie ice cream, and fruit-filled whipped cream. The potato fries were served in a waffle bowl with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. The combination of sweet and salty flavors was amazing. The parfait was not only delicious but also beautifully presented with a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the waffle. I was impressed by the creativity. I definitely want to come back for this parfait. However, even though I was enjoying it so much, it seemed like it would never finish. It was a wonderfully terrifying parfait.

I ordered the limited-time Earl Grey French toast. Even though French toast usually takes time to prepare, it was served quickly. The presentation was luxurious and got me excited. The taste was so delicious that it brought tears to my eyes. The French toast was amazing, and the Earl Grey cream on top was incredibly delicious. The Lotus cookie added a nice flavor contrast, making it a genius combination. I look forward to the next limited-time item.

This was my first time having lunch at Karafune-ya Coffee. As usual, there was a long line, and there were many foreign customers as well. The demi-glace sauce was rich and delicious, and even though I'm on a diet, I couldn't resist it.

I arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 PM. This time, I ordered the following items that I had decided on beforehand. - Tonkatsu Sandwich (980 yen): The tonkatsu was crispy and juicy, with a thick cut of meat that was very satisfying. The fries were salty and had a nice junk food feel to them. - Cookie, Chocolate, Marshmallow Parfait: The parfait had cookie ice cream, marshmallows, raw chocolate, berries, and whipped cream. Below that was vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce seeping in. Underneath that was a custard-like vanilla brulee, and at the bottom were blueberries. The rich taste of the raw chocolate and the sweetness of the whipped cream almost overwhelmed me, but I was saved by the sweet and sour taste of the berries. The brulee wasn't too sweet or bland, it was delicious. Upon closer examination, I found chunks of crispy cookie dough in the vanilla ice cream. This was fun. This parfait was full of playful elements and visually pleasing.

After visiting Toji Temple, I returned to Sanjo by Keihan Electric Railway. I still had some time before going to pick up lunch at Kawakami in Gion at 4 o'clock. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy and chilly, so we decided to rest at a cafe. We tried some well-known cafes in Kyoto, but they were all full. So, we thought of a few other charming cafes, but they were a bit far to walk to. Suddenly, we saw this cafe at a crossroads and decided to go in. I remembered that this cafe had already existed when I attended university in Kyoto over 30 years ago. It was considered a high-end cafe back then. Although I had been there a few times before, it was my first time at this main branch. We were seated at a window-side table on the second floor. We could only see the store across the Kawaramachi Street, which wasn't a particularly spectacular view. We ordered the "Delicious Set," which is basically a set of cake and a drink. I didn't know what "Delicious" meant, but it seems to be named after a famous shop in Minoh. The cheesecake made with Brie de Meaux cheese, topped with a thin layer of apricot jam, brought a pleasant acidity and was very delicious, not just sweet. The coffee was served in a large mug, and the portion was sufficient. All of this for 900 yen was quite reasonable. The store was quite busy despite its size. They had an endless variety of parfaits with different combinations. I like parfaits with fruits and sherbet, but it was too cold that day to be in the mood for that. It would have been nice to enjoy it with my wife though. The service from the staff was efficient and friendly!

I've always wanted to go to a shop with a wide variety of parfait menus! The menu was so extensive that it took me a long time to choose, haha. Since I had eaten quite a bit for lunch, I wanted to go for something a bit healthier, so I chose a tofu and cheesecake parfait! The white square one tasted like tofu-flavored rare cheesecake, while the one on the right was a normal cheesecake! The balance of soft serve and cream was good, and I was happy that I could finish it without getting tired of the taste. Eating the same flavor all the time can get boring, right? I'd like to try a fruit parfait next time.

It's nice to see the camaraderie forming among the solo customers gathering at Funeya, with everyone loving parfaits. By the way, this Apple Cobbler Parfait is great! The sautéed apples and biscuit with cinnamon spices are good! There are actually not many places that serve parfaits, so it's good to know this place for when you crave a parfait. On Sunday, we went shopping around Sanjo and Shijo streets and took a break because it was hot. My daughter and I have been to the Yamashina store before, but my wife hasn't, so around 3 PM, we were guided to the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor was almost full, and the 3rd floor was also almost full, but luckily there was a seat by the window, so we sat down. I ordered a Black Honey and Matcha Warabi Mochi Parfait (840 yen), my wife ordered an Apple Cobra Parfait (limited edition) (950 yen), and my daughter ordered an Almond Chocolate Parfait (840 yen). We leisurely chatted while observing the outside view and passersby, enjoying the nice scenery. Soon, the three parfaits arrived at once. I used to not like warabi mochi very much, but I have been into it in recent years. The combination of black honey and matcha was great. I have always liked parfaits, but I haven't eaten them much, so I have been eating them more often in recent years. My wife's Apple Cobra Parfait and my daughter's Almond Chocolate Parfait were also delicious. Especially my wife's Apple Cobra Parfait was voluminous, and she ended up skipping dinner because she was full. We enjoyed the meal. Thank you.

This is a perfect place for parfait lovers! I visited around 11 o'clock and it was relatively empty for a Saturday, so I could relax and enjoy. They have a wide variety of parfaits and the staff were very friendly. I definitely want to come back again!

I tried the limited menu at this store. The Ultimate Shrimp Fry Parfait is truly the best!! There are shrimp, sauce, and mayonnaise on top. And behind them, there is a thick veil of mochi that is thicker than a Yukimi Daifuku.

Order: Strawberry Soft Parfait (930 yen) A cute looking parfait. The portion was generous and satisfying. The menu had a lot of options, so I was indecisive at first, but ended up choosing my favorite, strawberry.

After exploring Nishiki Market, we decided to have some before checking into the hotel. Established in 1972, "Karafuneya Coffee Shop" has opened 12 stores mainly in Kyoto. While maintaining their commitment to coffee that they have cultivated since their founding, they have also been developing sweets that go well with coffee, successfully releasing over 450 types of parfaits. They aim to create the next generation of "Kyoto-originated parfait trend." This parfait includes tangy blueberries and various berries as toppings. You can enjoy soft serve ice cream and berry ice cream. It really hits the spot after a tiring day. The Dutch Iced Coffee was also delicious, with a deep roast flavor.

When I visited Kyoto, I stopped by this parfait specialty shop. I ordered the pudding and coffee parfait, and both were delicious! The whipped cream was really tasty, and now I can't eat parfaits from other shops anymore. I really want to go back there again! I'd even go for a day trip just to have their parfait!
