There was a regular customer who seemed to visit every Friday at 7:00 PM. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food and drinks, making it difficult to choose. We ordered a sashimi platter, udon, gratin, kimchi pizza, tempura chicken, fried fluffy natto, simmered motsu tofu, and shime saba. Among them, the kimchi pizza was unforgettable! We also had about 5 drinks each, spending around 5000 yen per person. The restaurant is loved by many cheerful regulars and a friendly motherly figure. It's a wonderful place.

The menu is extensive and makes you want to try everything. I ended up ordering too much (beyond what is shown in the photos), but the flavors were perfect for pairing with alcohol and I enjoyed every bite. The husband and wife duo running the place were in sync, and the dishes came out quickly. The regular customers seemed to have a good rapport with the wife, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.

On July 25, 2018, around 5:30 pm, myself, my second daughter, and my third daughter visited this restaurant for the first time for dinner (part 1). For dinner (part 2), we enjoyed delicious dishes such as salt-grilled long yam at Bonnge in Ichijo Minamidaimaru-cho. The dishes we had at this restaurant were all delicious and reasonably priced. However, the most noteworthy aspect was the unique and cheerful female owner. I recommend this place for those dining alone or couples going through a rough patch, as her presence adds a fun atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a review of the izakaya "Waya" in Ichijoji, Kyoto. When you enter the restaurant, you will find counter seats and a spacious room on the second floor. My son and I sat at the counter and were overwhelmed by the variety of menu items displayed on the wall. From classic dishes to unique options, it was dizzying. The owner of the restaurant was very kind and helped us with our order. We started with a toast with beer! We ordered a sashimi platter, which my son loved, as well as the grilled tofu steak, pork kimchi, and tuna tempura, all of which were delicious. My son's energy seemed to be boosted by the food. I also ordered a sausage platter, which was surprisingly tasty. For dessert, my son asked if he could order the cheese ochazuke, which was rice topped with plenty of cheese, bonito miso sauce, and hot tea poured over it. I tried a bite and it was really delicious! This izakaya offers a wide variety of dishes and is like a treasure hunt. It's a great place for both small and large groups. The food and drinks were delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We had a lively and enjoyable time dining and drinking on the first floor counter. The owner was very efficient and there were flyers hanging everywhere in the restaurant. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, making it hard to choose. The highlight was the "fluffy deep-fried natto", which had a unique and delicious taste. While there were no particularly outstanding dishes, the sashimi, grilled dishes, simmered dishes, and seasonal specials were all rich in variety. There is also a banquet space on the second floor, where students often gather. Overall, the rating has been slightly upgraded this time.

The first floor has only a counter, and it may seem a bit intimidating from the outside, but once you step inside, you can relax and unwind. It has a slightly nostalgic atmosphere. You'll see students and office workers alike. There is a wide variety of dishes and drinks available. The dishes are all well thought out and delicious. There are unique items on the menu such as tomato fry, udon gratin, and cheese tea pickles, which are all dishes that make you want to try making them at home. There is a wide selection of shochu, including sweet potato, barley, rice, as well as flavors like shiso, buckwheat, milk, sesame, and more, totaling around 20-30 types. They also have awamori and a good selection of sake. They offer shochu highballs, cocktails, and wine by the bottle. While the prices for dishes and drinks may seem a bit high individually, the portions are generous and they offer monthly discount menus and value sets, so it's not too much of a concern. It's a place you'll want to keep coming back to. The owner is very lovely.
