During lunchtime, I stumbled upon a menu outside a restaurant. The atmosphere seemed a bit intimidating, but once I entered, I realized it was actually an izakaya. I ordered the fried chicken set meal, and when it arrived, the chicken was a deep brown color. Maybe it was because of the lighting inside? When I tried it, the chicken was crispy and had a satisfying texture that I really enjoyed. The flavor was well-seasoned, and the coating had a nice taste to it. Overall, I found it quite delicious and it went well with the rice. The portion size wasn't huge, but I would definitely come back for the fried chicken.

I went for lunch. The place is located right near Hankyu Railway's Shijo-Omiya Station. It's an izakaya at night, but they serve lunch as well. I saw the daily special menu board at the entrance and decided to go in. Inside, there were counter seats and some other seats in the back, but I didn't pay much attention to them. The daily special was ginger-flavored chicken. There were other options too, but I think the daily special shows good organization of the restaurant. The meal included rice, miso soup, pickles, salad, a side dish, and the main dish. I started with the miso soup, which had good ingredients and a flavorful broth. The salad was fresh. The side dish, kinpira rice, was also delicious. The main dish of chicken had a nice flavor, not too spicy or bland, and went well with the rice. They have other lunch options too, so I'm looking forward to trying them next time.

Today, Kyoto has also declared a state of emergency. A certain official said that even lunch is not allowed. Well, it's true that having a long lunch with old men or mama lunches can be risky, but I think it's okay to have a solo meal at off-peak hours! If not, many restaurants will go out of business, which is starting to make me really angry. I think the real anger should be directed at the food and beverage industry. Today, I had a solo lunch at a place I often go with my colleagues. This place is known for its good value – even though prices went up during the consumption tax increase, everything is still 640 yen including tax. Today, I chose the ginger pork with chicken thigh from the five menu options. The taste was not particularly delicious nor bad, but there's a sense of guilt and deliciousness when you pour the remaining sauce from the chicken thigh dish over the rice. The staff's thank you at the end was also nice. Thank you for the meal. Goodbye.

I always thought about going there, and today I finally tried it out! A lunch menu offered by an izakaya - I chose the grilled mackerel. It was much bigger than I expected, right? And they even removed the bones, which was a pleasant surprise because it can be bothersome to do it myself. The flavor was great, didn't even need soy sauce as it had a nice salty taste. The interior of the restaurant was lovely, with decorations like the Seven Lucky Gods and tanuki statues. They had a wide selection of sake, so it seems like a good place for evening drinks too. The lunch was very affordable, costing less than 700 yen - such a good deal for a healthy menu. Eating out often leads to fried foods or ramen, but this place is a nice change. The only downside was the lack of ventilation, as the place was a bit smoky and my eyes were irritated.

Today I had the grilled fish set meal at a local izakaya called Chiran for lunch (^^). The atmosphere here is like eating at home, very cozy! And the best part is... this set meal is only 500 yen! They have a variety of other menu items as well. I have posted about this restaurant as it is a place I often visit!

The cooking is terrible here. No need for kibinago. Main dish like fried chicken is nothing special. Let's enjoy all-you-can-drink and have fun.

On the middle day of the three-day weekend on October 13th, there was a local community sports event. The post-event gathering was held here. The adult course meal was \3,000 and the children's meal was \1,000, which was very reasonable. (Adults had all-you-can-drink alcohol, while children had all-you-can-drink soft drinks). Considering the price, the food was sufficient. Many families, including children, participated, so the low fee was greatly appreciated. The children's fee was very cheap and the portion size was decent. Additionally, the quick service for drink refills made it a stress-free and enjoyable time. If we want to have a banquet at a low cost, we will definitely use this place again. Thank you very much.

I came to Shijo Omiya to have dinner with my partner, but we couldn't find the location of the restaurant we were looking for, so we ended up giving up and decided to try a new-looking restaurant called "Chiran" that we passed by. I don't remember what was there before, but I think it was probably a food shop. It seemed like a newly opened place on September 1st. The name of the restaurant is missing in the photo, though... When we entered the restaurant, there were counter seats right away, and we were guided to a spacious sunken kotatsu seating area in the back. It was large enough for about three rooms with seats lined up all the way, and when a group of about 20 people arrived, they used two rooms separated by sliding doors for them, so it seems like they can also accommodate large groups in private rooms. The couple who seemed to be elderly were in charge of the floor, and they seemed quite inexperienced, taking orders slowly and shakily writing notes. But they were trying hard, so I felt like cheering them on. Looking at the menu, duck dishes and horse sashimi were recommended. They also seem to serve lunch. Chicken porridge 550 yen - Very light in flavor, with chicken breast meat, small portion, and tough. The dishes were like those of an izakaya, with average taste and reasonable prices, so I think it would be more suitable for men who focus on drinking rather than women. I used the 2980 yen course with 90 minutes of all-you-can-drink. The food had a good volume and the variety of drinks for the all-you-can-drink was great. The staff seemed satisfied as well, which was very good. We were seated in a private room right after entering, completely separated from other customers, so we were able to have a great time without worrying about others. The dishes were rich in vegetables and the fried chicken was delicious. Our reservation was for 10:00 PM, but the phone service was very kind. It's close by, so I would like to use it personally again.
