This miso-marinated meat is the best match for rice! Pair it with beer and kimchi, and you have the best yakiniku restaurant in Japan that is beyond words.

When I visited Maruichi with my husband for the first time, it was a nostalgic experience as I used to go to Hayashi in Jujo before getting married. We started with tongue salt and then moved on to the sauce, but I forgot to take a picture of the sauce... Whenever I go to a horumon (offal) restaurant, I always want to eat hoso (small intestine), korikori (tripe), and urute (large intestine). However, my husband can only handle hoso, so this time we only had korikori. The meat cooked on the Genghis Khan grill was delicious as always, you really need it for the full experience! (laughs) I devoured it with rice in hand! When you go here, I recommend wearing clothes, bags, and shoes that you don't mind getting oily and smelly, as the smell alone can make you crave rice!

In Ichijoji, Sakyo-ku, when driving past the ramen street, you can smell the delicious aroma of grilled offal even inside your car. The restaurant has a smoky atmosphere that may not be appealing to women, with cheap-looking tables and chairs. The two brothers working there, one with a face like an onigawara, serve Kirin beer in bottles only. We ordered the Teniku, Agi, Heart, Akasen, and Hormone Mix. The miso sauce had a rich and sweet-savory flavor, much better than the one at the Kiyamachi branch. However, the sauce became too strong halfway through, making it spicy. Rinsing it with wakame soup balanced the flavor nicely. The atmosphere and hospitality were not worth spending nearly 10,000 yen for two people.
