ブロンプトン2011

I came to the area around Kitano Tenmangu Shrine for work and visited a shrine for the first time in my life to pray to the god of Tenjin. I was told that Tenjin is known for its plum blossoms. This year, the cherry blossoms bloomed early, and the shrine grounds were already at the end of their blooming period. It was just before lunchtime when I decided to look for a place to eat, so I headed towards the Omote-sando from the East Gate. I came across a store made of a traditional warehouse building. I passed by initially, but something caught my attention, so I went back and entered. It was the "Cafe Shin Neo" store. It seemed to be a store renovated from a warehouse building. On the right side, there were counter seats in a bright and relaxed space. To the left, there was a gallery and two four-seater tables in front of it. Two groups of ladies who seemed to have finished their shrine visit were seated there. As I looked at the menu from the counter seat, I noticed they offered a "lunch sake set." It was a store where you could enjoy sake with your lunch. While lunch beer is becoming more common, it was impressive to see a lunch sake option in Kyoto. But on that day, I had to travel to Osaka for work afterward, so I sadly had to give up on the sake. I refocused and ordered the "Seasonal Lunch" which was limited to 10 servings. It included sesame vinegar chicken, rolled omelet, one side dish, white miso soup, and pickles. You could choose between shredded dried pollack or shredded ginger on rice. It also came with coffee after the meal for 1,200 yen. The portion was modest but the lunch was elegant and delicious. Since I was in Kyoto, I wanted to try some "obanzai" (Kyoto-style side dishes), and my stomach was very satisfied. The coffee after the meal had a rich aroma and was very tasty. They only open on Fridays for dinner, so I thought it would be nice to finish work early on a Friday next time I have work in Kyoto. I would love to try some sake in this atmosphere. I definitely want to visit this place again. Thank you for the meal.
