Director Shinichi Fujisaki of BODYPIT KYOTO here. After visiting Hirano Shrine, I stopped by Hamazushi for the first time. Although I had takeaway from here before, it was my first time dining in. Despite being a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, the sushi didn't actually rotate around. Instead, you order through a touch panel and your selections are delivered to you. The seaweed and clam udon was also delicious. Thank you very much.

When it comes to conveyor belt sushi, at our home it's a choice between the cheap chain restaurants "Kura Sushi" and "Sushiro". Recently, we visited "Hama Sushi", which has been increasing in number of stores in Kyoto prefecture. It had been a while since we last visited Hama Sushi. A few years ago, I was impressed by the variety of soy sauces that were available to match the sushi. This time, the menu was still unfamiliar and that was nice. The domestic vinegar pickled mackerel (176 yen) was rare and quite good. The blackthroat seaperch toro (165 yen) was excellent.

It had been a while since I last visited Hama Sushi. It was nice to see that they have a parking lot, which is a rare find in Kyoto. Today, it was packed with families, probably because bonuses were just released. The sushi selection was varied, but the taste was average. However, considering the price, it would be rude to complain. The system involved ordering through a touch panel and the food would be brought to your table.

I went here after shopping on the weekend. This was my second time dining in the restaurant. The first time I went when it had just opened, and it was okay, but my impression changed a bit when I used it for takeout during Golden Week. I arrived around 5 pm and was seated right away (though by the time we left, there were about 10 groups waiting). We ordered two plates of tuna assortment for 165 yen each, scallop for 165 yen, yellowtail for 165 yen, firefly squid (marinated) for 165 yen, big leaf squid for 110 yen, onion salmon for 110 yen, sweet shrimp for 110 yen, conger eel for 110 yen, egg for 110 yen, green onion tuna roll for 110 yen, and seaweed miso soup for 110 yen. The quality of the sushi rice and toppings seemed to have improved since my first visit. The rice was slightly sweet but had a good flavor, leaning towards a taste that would be popular in Kansai. The toppings were also decent in terms of taste and freshness for the price. Compared to Kura Sushi or Sushiro, the prices here were lower, making it a good deal. In the end, we spent less than 2,000 yen for dinner for two, which is rare nowadays, and even got change back, so it felt really affordable. My evaluation of this 100 yen sushi restaurant has changed to 3.2.

I found this shop when I was sightseeing in Kyoto with my nephew! It's nice to still be able to eat for 110 yen including tax when prices are soaring. The menu is extensive and it's very convenient to order with a touch panel. There are no sushi plates flowing on the conveyor belt, which made me feel a bit lonely. I wish people would stop causing trouble and inconvenience for the sake of prank videos in revolving sushi restaurants. The shop wasn't too crowded, which was good, and the staff were very kind. The sushi rice was small, but the taste was good for the price. The Kitsune Udon was delicious. Personally, I found the yellowtail to be the freshest and most delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to "Hamazushi Kinkakuji store" because I had a little shareholder benefit. The restaurant is located next to Waratenjin. When you go up to the 2nd floor, you will find the entrance. Even though it's a chain store, it's kept clean. My wife and I sat in a booth. Nowadays, it's easy to order with a terminal. It's nice to have freshly made sushi served to you. We ordered a variety of items, and everything was fresh and delicious. It's different from conveyor belt sushi. It feels like a good deal with the shareholder benefit, and the quality is good, so sometimes it's nice to have conveyor belt sushi. After the meal, we visited Kinkakuji. It's a nice place, isn't it?

On a Sunday morning in August, my family requested to go to Hamazushi for breakfast. I tried to make a reservation at the Arashiyama store as usual, but found out that reservations were already closed from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Realizing that there was also a Hamazushi near the Golden Pavilion, I searched the website again and found that reservations were still available at that location. Although I had never been to the Golden Pavilion store, it was not too far away, so we decided to try it this time. The restaurant is located right next to the famous Yasaka Shrine. The first floor is a parking lot, and the restaurant is on the second floor. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated at a booth with no waiting time, which was very stress-free. The difference between the Golden Pavilion store and the Arashiyama store is that after ordering on the touch panel, the sushi comes slowly on a traditional conveyor belt. If you miss it, it will just keep moving, so there's a bit of tension (laughs). If it was the Arashiyama store, the sushi would come on an express lane and stop in front of our table, so it feels like we can eat at a faster pace. There were no issues with the variety or taste of the sushi. Compared to other conveyor belt sushi chains, I think the quality is better. This time, we spent less than 1,000 yen per person, which was easy on the wallet. Thank you for the meal.

I sometimes go to Hamazushi Kinkakuji store. It's convenient because I can use it for a casual drink or for a hearty meal. I never thought I could eat delicious ramen at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I like eel, so I often order it. It's slightly warm and delicious eel. I drink highball with takoyaki and feel like I'm at an izakaya.

Located near the intersection of Nishioji Street and Waratenjinmae, this place was Hamazushi, which is usually crowded on weekends in Tokyo, but now it was empty. Sushi in Kyoto and Tokyo have differences in the quality of the fish, the size and firmness of the rice, and the balance of vinegar, reflecting the differences in East and West food cultures. The salmon, sardine, rich tuna, yuzu salt eel, seared squid, sea urchin and salmon roe battleship sushi were surprisingly good, but the slices were quite thin. Is it because of the price or the current situation with COVID-19? I feel like the Kamata branch was bigger. This time, they implemented complete order-only system as a COVID-19 measure, which is convenient for someone like me who prefers ordering freshly made sushi at conveyor belt sushi restaurants. Other measures included hand sanitizers at the entrance, social distancing between tables, staff wearing masks, and thorough disinfection of touch panels and various items like chair backs, table edges, chopsticks, soy sauce dispensers, salt, tea bottles, and teacups. They seemed to be making an effort, and I hope for further improvements in the future.

Tried Hamazushi's conveyor belt sushi for the first time. The restaurant is clean and bright inside. I picked out some sushi from the conveyor belt, but I'm worried about the total cost since prices vary. The rice portions are small and the toppings are thin. The sushi is easy to eat with tasty rice and fresh toppings. Overall, the pieces are small so I ended up eating a lot.

On this day, I decided to try this place that I had never been to before while out shopping. I had heard from my son that it wasn't very good, so I was a bit hesitant. Back when there was a BIGBOY here, I used to come here often, but now it's all Kura Sushi. When I entered, it felt empty. Pepper-kun greeted me, but there were no staff around. After waiting for about 5 minutes, a staff member finally appeared and since it was quite empty, I was seated at a table. There was no explanation given, so I was a bit confused. I looked at the conveyor belt, but there were hardly any plates going around. I ordered using the tablet and waited for a while. It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The portions were quite small, especially the fish. The rice was machine-made and not very good quality. The vinegar flavor was also not to my liking. Overall, there was nothing particularly good compared to other places, and it took over 10 minutes for the bill to be processed. From start to finish, the experience was quite underwhelming. The quality seemed to have dropped significantly due to cost-cutting measures. The fish itself was on par with other places, but the small portions were disappointing. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again. Rating: 2.0

This is my first time at Hamazushi Kinkakuji store♪(#^^#) I parked my car in the parking lot and took the elevator to the second floor...so easy on my legs and hips, really helpful! There were various soy sauces inside the restaurant, so I was a bit lost at first. The sushi rice was...some were soft, and there were good toppings too, but some were a bit...well, you know! So I left in a hurry! Thank you for the meal! (^人^)

I went to Hamazushi for the first time! I ordered yellowtail belly, negitoro natto gunkan, toro salmon, scallop, tonkotsu ramen, fried chicken & potatoes, and more. Personally, I really enjoyed the tonkotsu ramen because the soup was authentic and delicious! The yellowtail belly and negitoro natto gunkan were also delicious. However, the fried chicken & potatoes were not that great as they were not freshly fried and were cold. Thank you for the meal.

There are only two locations in Kyoto, but Hamazushi (Kinkakuji branch) reportedly has the highest number of stores nationwide. Here, sushi is only 100 yen (excluding tax) on weekends, and unbelievably 90 yen (excluding tax) on weekdays! This is quite a deal! However, as I watched the sushi coming down the conveyor belt, I couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the two-piece sushi had all the rice stuck together. And the two toppings on top were also all piled up. This means that the rice and toppings were not molded together. It's like wearing a hat on your head without pulling it down properly. This "non-molded sushi" might be understandable considering it's only 90 yen (excluding tax), right? As for today's catch, I had 12 plates of sushi, udon, and chawanmushi, totaling 1,638 yen including tax.

The shop had a rating of 3.00 during the visit. In the area around Waratenjin in Kyoto, there are many family restaurants and fast food chains. However, one standout was the Kura Sushi restaurant, located in prime real estate. The spacious interior, robot greeters, and touch panel ordering system all contribute to cost-cutting operations. They offer a variety of sushi made with the same fish, a selection of soy sauces, and unlimited wasabi. The serving method aims to please the diners. It may be a good option for those who prefer to eat alone. Personally, I felt a bit lonely as there were hardly any staff members in the dining area, and it felt like I was interacting with the touch panel more than with people. Despite this, the restaurant seems to be thriving every day, making me realize that my preferences may be a bit outdated.

Huh? Was it really this delicious? If this level of taste is available in this price range, then it's a good deal. However, even though it's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, nothing other than what was ordered was coming around. Is that normal these days? Ordering through the touch panel was slow, which was disappointing.

The taste and quality of this place are incomparable to Kura Sushi and Sushiro, despite being a bit more expensive. I entered around 4 pm on a Sunday and there were a good number of customers. I had 4 plates for ¥150 each and 3 plates for ¥280 each, totaling ¥1584 including tax. I would like to go again.

I think it's one of the better options in the revolving sushi world. It's been a while since I last visited. I used to go to the one in Nara often. One of the recommended dishes at Hamazushi is the miso soup with seaweed - the amount and taste are just perfect. It's like a gift from the heavens. Plus, there are always coupons available, so you get a lot of freebies ^_^ When they first opened, there used to be long lines, but now there's no wait. It feels like something must be up. Well, as long as the food is good, I don't really mind. I ordered my usual lineup - starting with tuna and salmon, then moving on to eel and sea urchin. Oh, everything is delicious. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch. Much better than other revolving sushi places. And all this for just 100 yen, it's unbelievable. The fried chicken was also tasty. Today, they had a collaboration menu with Evangelion, and when I saw someone else's sushi passing by, I was tempted to order it, but I resisted (laughs).

Kura Sushi First has made a difference in our home. Are the sushi rice balls smaller than other restaurants? We ended up eating a lot.
