We visited with three families and enjoyed all-you-can-eat◎ Sweet and sour jellyfish: The jellyfish was firm with a nice chewy texture and the flavor was well infused. Sichuan spicy peanut sauce with white leek and cilantro: The drool-inducing chicken sauce was irresistibly delicious, even when dipped with spring rolls. Special spring rolls: Plenty of ingredients in the spring rolls, with shrimp and cream cheese filling. The cheese stretches like gratin inside the spring rolls. Assorted dim sum platter: Shrimp dumplings, juicy pork dumplings, and pork belly slices in spicy sauce. Stir-fried greens with dried shrimp: Perfectly rehydrated dried shrimp with crisp leafy vegetables, well-seasoned. Chicken and cashew nuts stir-fry: Delicious cashews, sweet and savory flavors. Shrimp in chili sauce: Flavorful and makes you crave for rice. Soft-shell crab with spices: The fried crab with seasoning was a standout dish, a must-try. Sichuan-style mapo tofu: Not too spicy, with a strong miso flavor. Dan dan noodles without soup: Mild in flavor with a nice touch of cashews. Yangzhou fried rice: Sweet and sour fried rice with special pickles. Almond panna cotta: Rich and creamy dessert. Almond ice cream: Lighter than the panna cotta, but still rich.

The restaurant is small but the taste is elegant and delicious. You can change fried mochi to rice. The fried mochi is chewy and tasty. The lunch set is 1000 yen. The atmosphere inside is calm and almost like a private room. However, the husband and wife who run the restaurant started arguing, which made the customers feel uncomfortable. Since the mood was not good, I finished my meal quickly and when I took out my wallet, the payment tray suddenly appeared in front of me. It was surprising that the payment tray was brought out without us asking for the bill. The customer service was not good, so I give it 3 stars. I will not visit this restaurant again.

I received a treat so I will refrain from giving an overall evaluation. This is a Chinese restaurant in Ginza Ichijoji that also serves ramen. I was recommended to come here because "the ingredients are good!" The restaurant is small with only three tables (4 seats each). The menu is quite unique, with dishes like stir-fry using Iberico pork (lots of Sichuan pepper), a different take on sweet and sour pork (no vegetables, black vinegar), and "freshly peeled shrimp chili." While it is a Sichuan restaurant, they did not have mapo tofu. The dim sum, like shumai, is on the bland side. It seems more like a creative twist on authentic Sichuan cuisine with high-quality ingredients. Drinks other than water are charged separately. When I ordered jasmine tea, it came in a teacup, which was unexpected. Dinner dishes range from 1500 to 2000 yen, while lunch is around 1000 yen. They also offer delivery through services like Uber.

It seems that a young couple is running the restaurant. They came from Kyushu, so the restaurant name is "Yokatto." It appears to be mainly focused on Sichuan cuisine. I visited for lunch and ordered shrimp wonton noodle soup, dry tantan noodles, mapo tofu, and century egg. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was light and refreshing with plump shrimp wontons. The dim sum that came with the lunch was also delicious. The dry tantan noodles needed to be mixed well, which brought out the unique spice flavors of Sichuan cuisine. The mapo tofu was authentic Sichuan style with a generous amount of chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns, giving it a numbing and spicy kick. The century egg had no unpleasant smell and was tasty. Overall, I think this restaurant offers a level of Sichuan cuisine that stands out from typical Chinese restaurants.

In the bustling Ichijoji area filled with ramen shops, there is a rare Chinese restaurant called Yokatto-san. As they advertise, they serve small Chinese dishes, each one carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors are not too spicy, even in dishes like Sichuan mapo tofu. They also offer ramen (tsukemen) which is light and perfect for a post-drinking meal. The portion sizes are small, making it easy to enjoy without feeling too full. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, with the wife attentive to replacing dishes promptly. To cleanse the palate at the end of the meal, they offer mint candies on a small plate. It's a great spot. The only thing to mention is the unique name, Yokatto.
