I went sightseeing in Fukuchiyama and bought souvenirs. I got the sought-after Mitsuhide senbei from a shop called Senkiriya, a long-established store founded in 1918. It cost 1000 yen for a pack of 6. I enjoyed it with hot tea when I got home. The senbei had a classic taste, but the pop art on the surface was cute. The guidebook about Fukuchiyama was also fun to read. It's easy to see why this souvenir is popular. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Spring 2022.

Thank you for the souvenirs brought back by Pesshivino Itancho, who is also a young entrepreneur, during his visit to Fukuchiyama for a major business project! They included "Odori Senbei" and "Mametama Senbei." Odori Senbei is a simple and nostalgic rice cracker. It is similar to "Kawara Senbei," I believe, in terms of taste and production method. Mametama Senbei is another nostalgic snack! It is a rice cracker made by kneading fried soybeans and baking them. I remember eating this a lot in my childhood because my late grandparents loved it and always kept it in stock. Oh, those were really nostalgic flavors that I enjoyed!

It has a moist texture with sweet red bean paste that is not too overpowering in a wheat dough. The outer layer is made of Odori Senbei dough, which is soft and just the right size, very delicious. It's like a wheat flour baked senbei, a nostalgic taste from childhood. The one with beans inside, "Azukidama Senbei," is my favorite. In August...★Chigiriya's Dancing Kasane. It's like a baby castella with sweet bean paste rolled inside. The castella-like dough is moderately sweet and moist. I'm not a sweet tooth, but even eating two of these was satisfying.
