Visited in June 2015, added one more image, no date update. Revisited in April 2014, added a fruit image, no date update. Revisited in April 2014, the master of the shop Choko Choko seems to have turned sixty, but looks young and friendly. The clientele is mostly local, with an average age on the higher side. The master interacts with customers, sometimes having fun, sometimes listening to their problems, and at times dealing with difficult customers with a firm attitude. The dishes prepared by the master are enjoyable, with a variety of appetizers and pasta. It seems like the master has experience in Italian or Western cuisine, incorporating Japanese elements in the dishes. Added images with updated date. Revisited in July 2013, added an appetizer image, no date update. Visited upon invitation from an acquaintance, the shop has relocated within Fushimi Ward. Located near Kintetsu Momoyama Oryo Station, under the guard, close to the popular ramen shop "Dainaka." The interior is dimly lit with a small L-shaped counter seat. The visit was a bit hazy due to being a bit drunk. Several appetizers were served, slightly more than a regular bar portion, impressively well-prepared, and the master's witty conversation was thoughtful. The King bottle action was impressive. The shop had a strong base BGM, which was a first for drinking red wine.

Underneath the elevated train tracks, there is a cluster of shops, one of which used to be run by an old lady as a snack bar. However, due to health reasons, she closed the shop and now it has reopened as a bar. It's called "Chobi Master." The place is quite dark but has a nice atmosphere that I really like. You can have a great time chatting with Chobi Master until morning, or strike up a conversation with the neighboring customers. Surprisingly, the food is quite elaborate and delicious. For example, the egg sandwich is made with my favorite tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) instead of just mashed boiled eggs. The pizza and garlic toast are also well-prepared. One day, they even served a delicious beef tataki with melting fat. The place is relatively empty in the early hours but gets crowded late at night. Most of the customers are locals, so it may feel a bit exclusive at first. However, Chobi Master is friendly and easy to talk to. It's a casual late-night eatery and snack bar where you can drop by anytime.

Visited around 9:15 pm on June 6, 2013. Ate udon and wandered around the city! Come to think of it, I feel like there was a bar recommended by gropop around this area. Let's head to the underpass at address 0 in front of the station! Location: Inside the famous shop street under the viaduct right outside the gate of Momoyama Goryo-mae Station. Diagonally across from Mr. Oonaka! It's very close to the station, but you can't see inside the shop from the outside at all, so it's unlikely to enter without prior information. Items received: - Appetizer: Boiled vegetables such as boiled shrimp, cheese, salami, burdock, broccoli, taro, etc. - Cocktails: Red Eye -> Daiquiri -> Alexander -> Martini in that order. The bill was 3,500 yen. Taste and overall impression: The master didn't say much, but I think he has been properly trained in a bar. I started with the Red Eye to keep it light, but after hearing "Recently, there are fewer people drinking cocktails," I felt a special aura from his skillful handling and got hooked. The Red Eye has a good balance of tomato acidity and beer. The excess foam was removed once and then carefully stirred before serving. At this point, it was decided that today would be a cocktail day. With great momentum, I had a series of three cocktails! Within an hour, I ended up ordering three more strong distilled spirit-based cocktails. The Daiquiri has a refreshing acidity and sweetness. The master shaking the shaker looked happy and lively, and the orders kept coming! The Alexander is a dessert-like drink with cream, cocoa, and brandy. I thought I would stop here, but I ended up not stopping... The grand finale was the king of cocktails, the Martini. It was served after being stirred in a mixing glass. It had an incredibly smooth and mellow taste. I finished it in no time. By the way, the headache the next day was so bad that it affected my work...literally a hangover... Cocktails are priced at 800 yen for basic ones, and slightly more elaborate ones are 1,000 yen. Considering that there are no consumption tax or other charges, it's quite a reasonable price. Also, I didn't try any other dishes besides the appetizer, but the menu is quite extensive with noodles like curry, udon, soba, somen, pizza, pasta, egg sandwich, dashimaki, grilled Wagyu beef, etc. Next time, it might be a good idea to start with a visit to the first place and try the food. Thank you for introducing us to a great restaurant, gropop! Thank you for the meal! Additional explanation about today's cocktails: - Red Eye: The base is beer. Served with tomato juice and stirred. - Daiquiri: The base is rum. A representative cocktail with rum as the base. Rum + lime juice + simple syrup. - Alexander: The base is brandy. Brandy + crème de cacao (replaced with Kahlúa this time) + cream + cinnamon. - Martini: The base is gin. Gin + dry vermouth. Served with an olive. The last three drinks have a high alcohol content, so it's really dangerous to drink too much. Beware of overdrinking (bitter smile)
