A Western-style restaurant opened right behind Lawson at Horikawa Sanjo. The restaurant is supervised by Mr. Nakabayashi from Naramachi Western Food "Haru," and the ideas of Chef Matsumoto from an Italian restaurant in Joyo, who is knowledgeable about vegetables, are incorporated into the dishes. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, with lovely cutlery and plates. Although the restaurant is new, the frying pan shows the chef's experience. For lunch, there are options like curry and hashed beef rice. I chose the signature dish, a robust 140g hamburger for 1300 yen. There are two set options: A set (main dish, salad, soup, rice or bread) for an additional 250 yen, and B set (A set with dessert, coffee or tea or soft drink) for an additional 500 yen. I chose the A set with bread. The salad consisted of sunny lettuce, mizuna, trevis, and cherry tomatoes with a dressing that had a strong lemon flavor. The soup was a creamy sweet potato potage with a hint of olive oil on top. The bread was from a specialty shop called Prunnya, lightly toasted and served. The hamburger was cooked in a skillet and made with coarse ground Kyoto beef, giving it a rustic appearance. It was cooked to a medium level, retaining the texture of the meat and staying moist. The accompanying stew had a light consistency and gentle flavor, complementing the hamburger well. The side vegetables were broccoli, bell pepper, rapeseed blossoms, skin-on potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, and sweet potatoes, all fried. Under the hamburger, there were sautéed onions and mushrooms. Overall, the restaurant focused on using locally sourced ingredients, combining nostalgic Western food with a modern touch, creating a warm and loving atmosphere. Additionally, they also sold Prunnya's bread.
