On October 26th (Wednesday) around 11:40, I visited this place. It was a holiday and I had no plans, so I stopped by while shopping. It had been a while since my last visit and I noticed that the prices had gone up a bit and the menu had been updated. I remembered that before, you could upgrade the mini bowl in the ramen and mini bowl set to a large size for an additional cost, but they said they couldn't do that anymore. So, I ordered each item separately in regular size. I wanted to get the large size, but it would have been a bit expensive. It's not as easy to stop by casually now, but the tuna bowl was still delicious! As for the ramen, it tasted like homemade ramen with a good balance and was easy to eat. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited here around 11:10 am on April 11th for the first time in a while. I was worried that they might not be open, but they were. It's nice to have a reliable place to go to. There was a familiar sound playing when I entered, like from a certain popular game. I wonder if they sell it here? Anyway, I had the tuna bowl which was cheap and delicious. I also had the usual fatty tuna bowl, which I always enjoy. I ordered the large size, which is actually a normal size for me. The price had gone up slightly, but the quality for this price is amazing. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since my last visit. This time, I visited for the first time by car. The place was still empty, with one customer before me and one after me. I ordered the Tobiuncho Don for 680 yen. It's a half portion with pink Bincho and lean tuna on top of vinegar rice. The fat of the Bincho tuna was delicious. The staff consisted of two elderly women. I left feeling satisfied after eating something healthy.

Visited in May 2019 at 11:00 am with a rating of 3.20 on Tabelog from 8 reviews. I had the Tuna Marinated Rice Bowl for 680 yen (comes with miso soup) at "Paku Paku Tei" in Joyo City, Kyoto. The restaurant specializes in seafood rice bowls. When I entered the restaurant right at opening time, the curtain was still on the counter. The staff quickly put it up, probably not expecting customers so early. The interior has a counter with 9 seats in a U-shape and 5 table seats. I sat at the counter and ordered the Tuna Marinated Rice Bowl. Soon after, two regular customers arrived. The dish arrived on a large tray with pickled ginger on the side. The miso soup had seaweed, thin fried tofu, and green onions, which was quite tasty. The thick tuna slices covered the rice, but I felt the ratio of tuna to rice was off, with too little rice. The tuna was good, but one slice had a slightly crunchy texture, possibly not completely thawed. The vinegar in the sushi rice was a bit strong for my liking. I think the "Toro Bincho" option might have suited my taste more. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This is my second time here. This time, I ordered the Udon set for 780 yen. It came with a small bowl of Udon and a Maguro (Tuna) rice bowl. They asked me what toppings I wanted on my Udon, like Inari or Kitsune. The broth was average. The rice bowl had two types of fish, like Toro and Bincho. It was delicious with a nice amount of fat. I ended up spending over 1000 yen with a canned beer. Some elderly customers came in later, and the staff took good care of them. I realized during payment that even the staff members were elderly. It was heartwarming in a way.

Visited around 15:40 on November 7th (Wednesday). Today, for some reason, lunch was at such a late hour... I must have relaxed too much thinking it was a day off. I have visited this restaurant several times since I found out about it through the reviews on Tabelog. It is run by two older sisters in a residential area of Joyo. Today, one of the sisters I usually see was there, and it was my first time seeing the other sister. There are counter seats and table seats, but the table seats are usually where acquaintances gather to chat. As usual, I sat at the counter! They also offer set meals with udon or ramen, but I went for the jumbo size! The thickly sliced fatty pork belly was so tender and delicious! They also served warm tea as a service, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited in the afternoon when there was no work. I got off at the quaint Kutsukawa Station. There were quite a few shops near the station. Further west, there were rougher residential areas. Still, there were a few scattered eateries. I entered this shop, wondering if it was a natural food store. One group of customers was already there, and one person came in after me. I ordered a tuna marinated rice bowl for 680 yen and a beer. It was a canned beer. The bowl wasn't the best tasting, but it had thick red tuna covering the rice, so it was quite filling. The miso soup was a bit light on salt. It felt healthy? It reminded me of what it would taste like if I made a salted soup with yellowtail. The total came to 1060 yen, I think. However, this relaxed area is nice. There is still human activity here.

I visited Pakupaku-tei, which I had been curious about. I was torn between getting a maguro-don, toro-binchou-don, or negi-toro-don, but I decided to go with the Japanese-style ramen because I heard their maguro-don was delicious. I ordered the set meal which came with Japanese-style ramen and a mini-don for 880 yen. The mini-don was quite substantial with plenty of negi-toro on top. The ramen was decent, not as good as a ramen specialty shop, but the donburi was delicious. If I have the chance to go again, I will definitely get the large size donburi!

After finishing a delivery nearby, I visited a casual small café with a garage in front. The menu featured tuna dishes and sushi options. I ordered a mini tuna bowl and cold grated soba set for 780 yen. The tuna bowl had slices of red tuna marinated in a sweet sauce, topped with seaweed. The cold grated soba had soft noodles in a strong broth with toppings like grated radish, chopped green onions, and fried tempura bits. Both dishes were simple home-cooked meals, but the cozy atmosphere and the sound of piano and strings made the experience enjoyable. The service from the two motherly owners added to the warmth of the place.

Today, I went to Paku Paku Tei in Hirakawa Nakamichido-hyo, Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture. This restaurant is not known for its extravagant presentation, but I was captivated by the glistening color of the tuna that was generously served, so I had bookmarked this place. I had been wanting to visit for a while, but it was in an area I rarely go to, and they close at 6 pm without any late-night hours, with Sundays being their day off, so I never got the chance to go. I arrived at the restaurant around 2:30 pm, and it was empty. I sat at the counter and decided to order the extra-large Toro Bincho Don. The dish arrived in about 6 minutes, and it was filled with thick slices of tuna on top of rice. The slices were about 1 cm thick, and there was a generous amount of tuna, especially the sashimi, which was quite substantial. The Toro Bincho had a soft texture that melted in the mouth without any fishy or gamey taste. It was very flavorful, especially as you chewed, and it went well with the wasabi provided. Next, I tried the Akami, which had a milder flavor but was still delicious. It was marinated in a gentle sauce that enhanced its natural taste. Overall, the meal was satisfying, with no sinewy parts in the tuna. The wasabi added a nice touch to the overall experience.

I was searching for a seafood bowl between Kyoto and Nara in April 2014, and came across a review by a MyReviewer, so I decided to visit. It is located about 500 meters from Kutsukawa Station on the Kintetsu line. When I entered the restaurant, a friendly lady greeted me. I ordered the large portion of Negitoro bowl for 830 yen. It was topped with plenty of fresh Negitoro, which tasted like it was just chopped. The rice was not piping hot, which I actually liked. I was a bit worried that the taste might be like a chain restaurant due to the name of the place, but it turned out to have a homely taste and was quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I found this restaurant on Tabelog while looking for a seafood bowl place. There were no reviews and limited information, but I decided to try it out for something new. I arrived at the restaurant around 2 pm on a Saturday. It was nice that the restaurant was open all day. There seemed to be limited parking spaces next to the store. When I asked if it was okay to park there, the staff said it was fine anywhere. Inside, there was only one other customer. The restaurant was run by two older ladies that day. The interior had magazines for customers to read. I ordered the large portion of the "torobincho don" for 830 yen. The staff was unsure if the large portion only meant more rice or more toppings as well. The restaurant was completely non-smoking. They had handwritten menu items like Japanese curry udon and curry udon with tuna bowl. The food was served quickly, and the torobincho don had thick slices of tuna and a good portion. The miso soup was a bit bland, and the pickles were average. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and homey. I saw a sign outside mentioning fresh bonito from Yaizu Port, but they didn't have bonito sashimi that day. Overall, I was surprised they served seafood bowls with fish from Yaizu Port. I would like to try the curry udon next time and maybe the bonito sashimi if available.
