Prologue: When I come to Kyoto, I usually go to "Takumi-an" on Saturday nights, but due to the state of emergency, it was closed for the whole month, so I found this restaurant that had already reopened. I could get a riverside seat for myself for an extra 1000 yen. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my reservation at 6:00 PM on May 30th, and was promptly seated at the riverside table closest to the river. The total cost was 7400 yen including tax, plus a seating fee of 1000 yen. The meal included: Watercress and small fish in broth, thin tofu, squid and flying fish roe salad, chicken with Japanese pepper, wine-stewed cherry tomatoes, clear soup with sea bream, winter melon, and watercress, sashimi (yellowtail, striped jack, flounder, conger eel), wagyu steak, simmered dish (baby sea bream, pumpkin, small taro, eggplant, peas), tempura (conger eel, eggplant, shishito pepper), simmered conger eel stick sushi with ginger vinegar, red miso soup, creme brulee, cheesecake, chocolate gateau. The male staff were friendly and provided thorough explanations, but one of the female staff members did not explain anything. The highlight was being able to experience dining by the river.
