From Fushimi Otesuji Street, passing through Naya-machi Shopping Street and entering Ryoma Street, I wandered around in the afternoon, drinking and eating to my heart's content. As I walked towards Nakashojima Station, I noticed a bar with a signboard open for business. It seems they only open for lunch on weekends from 2 pm. I decided to give it a try and entered. There was one customer, who seemed like a regular. The atmosphere was calm and cozy. I ordered a Red Eye and my companion ordered a Gulf Stream. We chatted with the owner and enjoyed a leisurely time. Before we knew it, an hour had passed with us having two drinks each. Occasionally visiting a bar during the day is nice. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

When you pass through the Noya-machi Street Shopping District from the Otemasu Shopping Street, you suddenly come across the Sakamoto Street Shopping District, which is well-maintained for tourists. One of the establishments on that street is "BAR SAKAMOTO." I had always been curious about it, but because it seemed more geared towards tourists (with many couples and a busy atmosphere), I hesitated to go in. The entrance looked stylish too. However, once I stepped inside, I found a sophisticated and calm atmosphere in this authentic BAR. The subdued lighting added a deeper flavor to the experience. Since I was with two friends, we chose a table towards the back. They had a full lineup of domestically produced whiskies, which is quite rare these days. I ordered a Yoichi on the rocks. Instead of ice cubes, they used a ball of ice. The nuts served as a snack seemed lightly smoked and paired well with the whisky. I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a great BAR where you can leisurely enjoy your drink.

I went to a calm bar on Ryoma Street in Kyoto called KINOBI. They have a great craft gin selection. It seems they are open until 3 am, which is nice. There was a panel of Hijikata Toshizo displayed there. I tried the tacos, smoked dishes, and potato salad. I definitely want to go back again.

Get off at Chushojima Station, pass by Teradaya, and you will find an authentic bar on Ryoma Street. The master is quiet but kind. I had a Gimlet and a Martini. When you think of Fushimi, you think of sake, but it's nice to have a relaxing bar like this.

Upon revisiting in February 2017, I heard that this place only starts getting busy around 2pm on weekends. When I arrived at dusk, there was only one other customer. I casually took a seat at the counter and ordered a beer without receiving a greeting. Then, I noticed there were two small tables in the back, so I moved to one by the window where I could read a book. The view outside was so-so, but I could easily focus on my reading. It was a small spot, but I found it to be a valuable discovery.

I thoroughly enjoyed various whiskey highballs at this place. It's a great restaurant.

After a lively dinner party with lots of drinking and eating, I revisited the restaurant and ordered this, "James Bond's Vodka Martini."

This is a wonderful master's shop. It is recommended for those who want to slowly drink hard liquor.

After a long period of self-restraint, you have finally resumed business. It's understandable if you're singled out as a bar. It's a small establishment, but you are operating with spaced-out seating. Your sales may drop, but it's a matter of patience. As a barman, you are seen occasionally at various dining establishments, discussing theories and picking up stray coins. You embody the essence of a classic bar in this area. While I don't visit often, I hope you continue to create a bar where true bar enthusiasts gather, like Silver Moon.

The prices at Teradaya seem a bit high, possibly because they cater to tourists. The service was not great for the price. It seems like they focus more on one-time customers. The atmosphere on Ryoma Street is decent, but the atmosphere inside the shop is a bit disappointing. It's understandable since it's a quiet place at night with few people passing by.

The group decided to go to a trendy bar after feeling full from the meal. The bar doesn't have a menu, so customers can order whatever they feel like drinking. If you're unsure, there's a cocktail book to help you choose. They also serve beer. Finally, the third member of the group joined them at the bar. The bar has only been open for about six months, so they hope it will succeed despite concerns about its niche concept.

From December 3rd, 2016 to pre-open on December 6th, 2016, the opening hours are from 19:00 to 3:00! Located at 238-2 Shioyacho, Fushimi-ku, a 6-minute walk from Nakashojima Station, on Ryoma Street next to Teradaya! It's not BAR SAKAMOTO because the owner's name is Mr. Sakamoto! It's a quiet, calm, and sophisticated standard BAR for adults!

It is a new restaurant where the owner and bartender used to passionately talk about tequila at another place. Finally, he has his own shop now. Located near the Otemaedori shopping street, the restaurant has a long interior with a counter on the right side, a stand using the wall on the left side, and two tables at the back. I had a soda with banana chips as a reset after a Japanese meal. The conversation was enjoyable, and I learned that the restaurant operates without holidays for about a year, opening at 14:00 on holidays. I also tried a silky red wine that was easy to drink even for those who don't like red wine much. I plan to visit again for a longer time next time.
