Parked the car at Uji Station and visited the restaurant. Got lucky with the last seat. It's always crowded and always generous in portion. The usual stone-grilled salad with yuba was delicious and filling. The sea bream soup was a bit too salty. The lotus root manju was good. Had beer and highball (non-alcoholic). It's a hidden gem in the alley, worth visiting for its good value and casual dining experience!

Located about a 5-minute walk from JR Uji Station and a 7-minute walk from Keihan Uji Station, this hidden gem of a restaurant is tucked away in a side street just off Ujihashi-dori Shotengai shopping street. It is frequented by food professionals and discerning gourmets. The restaurant offers creative Japanese cuisine using seasonal, delicious ingredients mainly from Kyoto. During my last visit, I arrived late and many dishes were sold out, but I still enjoyed the "No Sold Out! Limited Menu of the Day" as my main choice. I savored the delicious creative Japanese cuisine, meticulously prepared, along with some tasty drinks. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I let my guard down. Ate too much. My partner had dinner around 3 o'clock. We were guided to a private room for the first time at 7 o'clock. It's non-smoking here, which is good. The appetizer was an assortment of eight dishes. I forgot about that. I let my guard down. The meal included grilled fish roe, potato salad, sashimi of yellowtail amberjack, bamboo shoot soup, salad with seaweed and Kyoto-style tofu, and assorted grilled fish. Ate too much. The total bill for two people was 4700 yen. The seats were fully booked, and we got the last one. It must be a popular restaurant.

Today I came home early and waited for my partner to finish work. Since I didn't cook, I parked at a cheap parking lot near Uji JR station (100 yen per hour) and walked around. The izakaya was full, so I went to another one. I had appetizers of tofu and seaweed salad, yuba sashimi, and a sashimi platter. I had a draft beer and then found a bottle of Isomani from Shizuoka, a sake brewery in Yaizu, which was the sake used for the toast at the Toyako Summit. I first tried it when I was in Shizuoka and liked it. I had a simmered dish and was full. Thank you for the meal.

It's not a good idea to order a course menu if the food and drinks take too long. You can't finish it in 2 hours, and the first dish takes at least 30 minutes to arrive. Even if you urge them for drinks, you still have to wait 10 minutes. It's better to order beer early, around 80% full, to avoid waiting too long. It's not recommended to go with someone special, but it's good to go with friends who are patient enough to wait for food and drinks.

There are not many open restaurants around here at night, but this place is perfect for a leisurely drink. The appetizers are very luxurious! It's hard to find delicious sashimi in Kyoto, but here it is delivered directly from Maizuru Port and is exquisite. There is also a wide variety of alcohol, so I highly recommend it.

I had a mini sashimi assortment with an otoshi (probably 1,000 yen), shochu with water, and hot sake. The food was served without asking and I was charged 1,080 yen. I won't be coming back again.

After watching cormorant fishing, I found this restaurant in the Uji area where I could have a meal. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with mainly female customers. I started with a Dry Yuzu drink to quench my thirst, followed by a tasting set of three types of sake. The appetizers were elaborate and delicious. I tried a unique dish of fried and marinated Ujikoma tomatoes, as well as cream cheese and ham with wasabi dressing. The sashimi platter was fresh and tasty, served with a plate indicating the names of the fish. The dashimaki tamago was a classic and delicious choice. I also enjoyed the basil stir-fried sand liver and vegetables, as well as the steamed salted pork with sweet vegetables. Overall, the dishes were well-prepared with strong flavors, and the meal was satisfying at a reasonable price. I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

I have been coming to this place since it opened, and it's delicious. There aren't many restaurants like this in front of Uji Station, so I find it very convenient. The sashimi platter is quite generous when you order it. Lately, they have started offering a plate for one person, so I often order that. There is a nice snack bar nearby, so my favorite routine is to have a meal here before going there.
