I have visited this favorite restaurant so many times that I have lost count (lol). This time, I ordered the salt an-kake yakisoba. The mapo tofu, Shanghai yakisoba, and sweet and sour pork are all delicious! I highly recommend this place when you visit Joyo!

After 3 years, I visited the chef's whimsical lunch and had "cloud white meat with three-element pork spicy sauce" and ankake yakisoba. The flavors were gentle and nice. I now feel like trying a more diverse range of Chinese dishes with a course meal next time! It would be great if there were more options for courses or individual dishes during lunch.

Visited in September 2021 ◎ At the time of posting, it had a rating of 3.09 on Tabelog (based on 9 reviews). ■ Specialty! Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set for 1,408 yen (tax included) * Comes with unlimited rice, soup, salad, dessert, and pickles. Today's lunch was at a Chinese restaurant in Joyo City (^_^)/ It's a 6-7 minute walk from Joyo Station and Terada Station. I sat at the counter and checked the menu, there were quite a few options but I decided to order the "Specialty" Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set. It's a bit pricey for lunch, but considering that it comes with unlimited rice, soup, salad, dessert, and pickles, it seems reasonable (^∇^) It was served on a large tray. By the way, you can choose the level of spiciness from these 4 levels: "Mild, Regular, Medium, Spicy." I chose "Regular" but it was quite spicy! It was served in a hot pot, so the spiciness was more pronounced because it was piping hot. Maybe I should have chosen "Medium" instead (^^; The tofu was quite soft, and while it wasn't as spicy, there was still a good amount of numbing sensation. Towards the end, when it cooled down a bit, I could taste the richness of the Mapo Tofu even more, which was actually nice (ᵕ̤ૢᴗᵕ̤ૢ ) The eggplant salad and the almond tofu dessert were also quite delicious (๑´ڡ`๑) It was a pretty authentic Mapo Tofu, and now I'm curious to try other items on the menu as well (人´3`)⌒♡ Thank you for the meal.

I visited Kashi no Ki for the first time, a hidden gem that is rumored to be popular. I had heard from my family and colleagues that the food was delicious, but for some reason, I never got the chance to go until now, about 4-5 years after it opened. I ordered the highly recommended mapo tofu set meal, while my companion ordered the ankake yakisoba set meal. Both sets came with the main dish, rice, pickles, soup, salad, and almond jelly. The rice may look small, but there is actually a bit more rice than a regular rice bowl. The salad had a strong celery flavor, the pickles were burdock with a unique taste, and the soup was light with pork and daikon. The mapo tofu had a punchy flavor with the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns. You can choose the level of spiciness, and even as someone who likes spicy food, the medium level was just right for me. The richness and the concentrated flavors at the bottom of the dish were particularly delicious. It was great that you could have unlimited rice refills. I often eat mapo tofu at home, but I crave authentic Chinese flavors like the ones at this restaurant, with Sichuan peppercorns and the Sichuan pepper I bought at Kalbi. However, eating mapo tofu outside is a whole different experience. The noodles and sweet and sour pork also looked delicious, so I would like to revisit soon. There is parking in front of the restaurant, with space for about 5 cars. Since the road leading to the restaurant is not heavily traveled by locals, some people may rely on navigation to get there. If you are coming from the west side (towards Super LIFE), please be aware that there is a 200-meter section where cars cannot pass each other, so it is recommended to come from the east side. Setting your destination to Joyo Post Office or Joyo Police Station might be helpful. The restaurant also accepts payment methods like PayPay.

I finally went to a Chinese restaurant called Kashinoki that my friend had been recommending for a long time. I couldn't get a reservation every time I tried to go! But this time, I finally got a reservation and went for lunch. The restaurant is located near Kintetsu Terada Station or JR Joyo Station, and you can walk there. It's in a very peaceful area surrounded by fields and residential houses. There are 5 parking spaces available. Outside the restaurant, there are benches and goldfish, creating a relaxing atmosphere. After confirming my reservation, I entered the restaurant. Inside, there were mysterious objects and decorations, but it was clean and stylish. The counter had acrylic panels, and the table seats were separated by vinyl curtains. There were also tatami mat seats, making it family-friendly. I ordered the famous Sichuan Mapo Tofu set for 1408 yen. I chose the normal level of spiciness. My friend ordered the body-warming and tangy soup noodles set for the same price. The set included rice, soup, salad, and pickles. The dishes arrived! First, the body-warming and tangy soup noodles set. It looked delicious and tasted amazing! I took a small bite and it was so good! The flavors were complex and delightful. Next, the famous Sichuan Mapo Tofu set! It was bubbling and appetizing! I took a bite and it was delicious! The flavors hit me instantly, and the green onions inside added a lot of umami. The spiciness was just right, not too overwhelming. My friend said it was because of the delicious chili oil. It all made sense! The restaurant provided separate spoons for the soup and Mapo Tofu, which was thoughtful. The egg soup was rich, and the salad with crispy spring roll skin was enjoyable. The pickles and other side dishes were all flavorful and complemented the Mapo Tofu perfectly. The almond jelly dessert was smooth and creamy. The restaurant also serves other dishes like black vinegar pork, drool-worthy chicken, and tasty shrimp for dinner. I would love to visit for dinner sometime. The sound of the Chinese wok in the kitchen added to the cozy atmosphere during lunch. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and some other days of the month.

Today's lunch was Mapo Tofu. After finishing work with my junior colleague, we headed to our next destination. On the way, we stopped by a restaurant that had caught my eye before. We arrived a little past noon, and the restaurant stood out in the residential area with its stylish exterior. There was a parking lot available. Inside, the atmosphere was relaxed with a spacious counter and tables, creating a chic and calming space. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu, which had a few options. I ordered the specialty Sichuan Mapo Tofu set (1280 yen). You could choose the level of spiciness, and I opted for medium. Beyond the counter was the kitchen where you could see the cooking process. Before long, the Mapo Tofu arrived in a hot pot, bubbling like magma. It was hot and delicious! The perfect level of spiciness and numbing sensation, with a rich Sichuan Mapo flavor that tickled the nostrils with the aroma of spices. The balance of chili oil was also good, just the way I like it. The rice went down easily with the dish, and you could get a refill if you wanted. There was plenty of Mapo Tofu in the hot pot to enjoy. The set also included a salad, pickles, and almond tofu for dessert. Despite the heat from the Mapo Tofu, I couldn't help but devour it. What a delicious Mapo Tofu!

The photo is of a set meal of Mapo Tofu, extremely spicy. It is deliciously spicy without relying on numbness. It is served in a clay pot which is nice! The spiciness quickly fades after eating, allowing you to return to your normal life right away! This is my fifth time here. Among all the Mapo Tofu I have tried, this one is the most delicious.

Located southwest of the Choyo City Hall, this restaurant was a bit hard to find for someone like me who is not familiar with the area, but it seemed well-known to the locals as it was bustling with people even on a weekday. Despite the crowd, there was a counter available for solo diners. As for the lunch sets, there was a wide variety to choose from, and I opted for the sweet and sour pork set while my companion chose the tantanmen set. The prices were a bit on the high side, with the tantanmen set costing around 1200 yen and the sweet and sour pork set around 1500 yen before tax, totaling over 3000 yen after tax. However, the taste was excellent. The dishes were seasoned with a variety of condiments, giving them an authentic flavor. The sweet and sour pork had high-quality ingredients and was delicious with the tangy sauce, while the tantanmen had a rich broth with no overpowering spiciness. The chef seemed dedicated to their craft, and while the prices were a bit steep, the quality of the food made it worth it. It might be nice if they could lower the prices a bit, but that might also lead to longer lines. Overall, this restaurant seems like a hidden gem with good turnover, and I look forward to keeping an eye on it.

Today, I came here. It's a Chinese restaurant in Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture, that I had been curious about for a while. I found the restaurant nestled in a quiet residential area off the main road. I arrived before 1 o'clock and the place was almost full of local housewives and couples. It seems to be quite popular. The bright and airy interior of the restaurant, with high ceilings, gives off a Western-style restaurant vibe. On the left side, there is the kitchen at the back, a counter with 5 seats in front, 4 four-person table seats in front of that, and at a slight distance on the right side, there are two relaxed dugout table seats. The place is decorated with tastefully arranged bottles of spices, giving it a clean and cozy atmosphere. Probably run by a couple in their 40s? The menu consists of sets from "A to K" with noodles or rice dishes, side dishes like dim sum, desserts, and drinks. I ordered the "E Specialty! Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set". The chef, with high energy, cooked quickly while rhythmically shaking a high-powered Chinese wok. After a while, my order arrived. The tray came with the main dish, rice, salad, soup, pickled vegetables, and dessert. When I lifted the lid of the heated clay pot, the Mapo Tofu was bubbling hot. I ordered it with normal spiciness, but it seemed quite spicy. As I started eating, the spiciness of the chili peppers mixed with the minced meat and silky tofu's umami flavor. As I continued eating, the Sichuan pepper attacked with a tingling sensation with every bite, making the taste quite intense. I started sweating from the heat, but luckily there was a wet towel available. The salad with a tangy dressing was also quite tasty. The soup and pickled vegetables were also well-prepared. The Mapo Tofu had more volume than I expected, so I asked for a half serving of free rice. After finishing the meal, the mango pudding gently soothed my overheated mouth. The cost performance may not be the best, but I found a great restaurant. Next time, I want to bring my family and try other dishes. Note that the restaurant only accepts reservations for evening service. Service was good. Thank you for the meal. Personal notes: Tax not included in prices, wheelchair accessible, Washlet near the entrance, about 5 parking spaces available on the premises.

On a rare holiday when the whole family was together, we stumbled upon a new restaurant called "Chinese Cuisine Kashinoki" that wasn't there five years ago. The menu displayed on the front wall featured popular dishes that caught our attention. We visited around 11 a.m. on a Sunday and were quickly seated as there were only two other groups of customers. The lunch menu had about 7-8 options ranging from 1000 to 1400 yen. We ordered the daily special lunch (stir-fried crab and eggs) for 1000 yen and the tantanmen lunch (with soup) for 1200 yen. The tantanmen was pleasantly spicy with a delicious sesame flavor, and even though I usually can't handle spicy food, I couldn't resist drinking the soup. They also offer authentic dishes like braised pork rice bowl and mapo tofu with a variety of spices. The restaurant had handwritten signs by the staff and the manager's homemade condiments for sale. I would definitely like to come back again. They also mentioned that they offer osechi (traditional Japanese New Year dishes), which I would consider for the upcoming New Year. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I felt like eating delicious mapo tofu, so I made a reservation and went to Kashinoki. To my surprise, they had shark fin soup for 1980 yen! Served in a hot pot, the shark fin soup was plentiful and piping hot. It was delicious on its own or poured over rice.

While walking aimlessly from Joyo Station towards the Dujo Engei, I stumbled upon this stylish restaurant that was surprisingly empty for a weekend lunch. The spicy noodles were just right, not too overwhelming. It was delicious. A wonderful place.

I had lunch at a restaurant near Joyo City over the weekend. The restaurant had a good reputation and was located in a quiet residential area, not facing the main road. The parking lot was spacious. The restaurant was run by the owner and one staff member. The lunch menu had 7-8 options ranging from 1000 to 1300 yen, a bit on the pricey side. I ordered the tantanmen set this time. Although there was a chili mark, it wasn't particularly spicy. The soup was very well done, with a strong sesame flavor that went well with the rice. The noodles were a bit on the soft side. The white rice was also very delicious. The pickled vegetables were light and the saltiness was gentle, which I liked. Dessert was included, and overall, I was satisfied. I think the dinner menu would be more serious, so I would like to try it at night next time.
