I have passed by this restaurant many times but never actually went in. It is located near a main street (Nishioji-dori in Kyoto) and the storefront is small, making it difficult to stop and enter. However, when I finally decided to try it out, I found that it was a cheap, quick, and delicious place to eat. I ordered the daily special for 900 yen, which consisted of stir-fried fish and vegetables as the main dish, along with some dim sum on the side. The portion size was generous and the variety of ingredients was impressive. The cooking was just right, giving it that classic taste of local Chinese cuisine. The interior of the restaurant had a nostalgic feel to it, indicating that it has been a favorite among locals for a long time.

Discovered a great restaurant! The dim sum lunch in the second photo is 930 yen, and there are about 6 other lunch menu options. Both the dim sum and main dishes change daily, so it makes you want to come back again and again. The stir-fried dishes are especially delicious. They are cooked in a Chinese way, with flames shooting up high, resulting in crunchy vegetables that you can't achieve at home. The restaurant is small, but the thoughtful and kind service from the owner is wonderful. They even serve warm tea after the meal.

I went there on a Sunday afternoon. There are several coin parking lots nearby. The restaurant is small and has a modest appearance, like a casual Chinese restaurant in town. There are 5 seats at the counter and two 4-person tables. I had the dim sum set for 900 yen. We also shared some pan-fried dumplings. The side dish that came with the dim sum set today was stir-fried pork belly and vegetables. It was delicious with plenty of burdock and yam! The flavor was rich and so tasty! The Chinese congee was piping hot and filled with plenty of chicken. The dim sum and pan-fried dumplings were also delicious, and I was very satisfied. The baked BBQ pork bun had a slightly sweet taste, which I liked. The ventilation fan didn't seem to work well, so it was a bit smoky, but I enjoyed a delicious Chinese lunch. I would love to go back again! Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is a bit messy, but the food is really delicious. It's a place where locals frequent because tourists don't often stop by. The location and prices are quite reasonable. The atmosphere can be a bit intense, not a place to impress guests. But if you want to feel like a mischievous little boy again, this is a place to remember. The numbing sensation of the sansho pepper, the aroma of the noodles, the appetizer served with dim sum, the quality of the rice, the friendly and smiling owner, and the affordable prices. This restaurant is a hidden gem. You'll be missing out if you don't know about it.

I went for lunch and was warmly welcomed by the friendly chef with a smile. I had the weekly special set meal and sweet and sour pork set meal. Both dishes had strong flavors and were delicious. The dim sum tasted homemade and authentic. The daikon mochi was also soft and highly recommended!

I often visit this Chinese restaurant where I enjoy handmade dim sum first, followed by the daily specials and a taste of Shaoxing wine. Comparing different types of Shaoxing wine is a great deal here.

The dim sum here is surprisingly cute and delicious, you wouldn't expect it from the appearance. Girls who love dim sum will definitely rave about it! If only it were a bit more stylish, more people would know about it~~~ I didn't get to take a picture, but it was seriously so delicious. I had the mapo tofu over rice as a finishing touch, and it was authentically spicy and perfect. I will definitely be going back ❤

Located just west of Nishioji Oji-dori (a little south of Enmachi), there is a Chinese dim sum restaurant called Meiron that I really like. My favorite dish there is the "Dan Dan Noodles Set," which includes Dan Dan noodles, steamed rice, and three kinds of dim sum for 900 yen. From the 1st to the 15th of the month, they serve white sesame Dan Dan noodles, and from the 16th to the end of the month, they serve black sesame Dan Dan noodles. These Dan Dan noodles are the best I've ever had - they are red in color but not too spicy (in my opinion) and have a wonderful sesame flavor that spreads in your mouth. Mixing the leftover soup with the rice after finishing the noodles is also a great experience. The dim sum, served simply with black vinegar, is also delicious and chewy. I highly recommend trying the seasonal menu item "Oyster Dumplings," which have a whole plump oyster in each dumpling. Be careful when eating them fresh, as you might burn yourself (speaking from experience), but simply squeezing some lemon over them enhances the flavor. The lunch menu offers various sets besides the Dan Dan noodles set, all of which are delicious and good value for money. I look forward to trying their dinner menu sometime, as I hear they offer great course options.

On a windy weekday afternoon around 1:20 PM, I entered the restaurant alone. It was empty the entire time. The daily lunch special was ¥850, which included stir-fried komatsuna and squid as the main dish. It also came with a platter of three kinds of dim sum, rice, and soup. The stir-fried komatsuna and squid were cooked quickly over high heat, leaving the squid rare and the komatsuna crispy. The dim sum could have been steamed a bit softer, as they seemed a bit dry (possibly due to the late hour). I ended the meal with a hot cup of Pu-erh tea, which was very comforting. When I spoke to the owner, I learned that the restaurant has been open for almost 4 years. He was still young and full of energy. Today's lunch was not exactly to my personal taste, but I would be interested in trying other dishes on the menu.

Located on Nishioji Taishido in a town, this Chinese restaurant offers mainly set menus for lunch. Despite the information on Tabelog stating that they are closed on Tuesdays, they were open when visited on a Tuesday. The lunch menu consists of dishes such as Tianjin rice set, fried rice set, dan dan noodles set, dim sum set, yakisoba set, and daily specials. On this particular day, the daily special was "young chicken with fragrant sauce," which was chosen. In addition to the main dish, the set included rice, soup, and three types of dim sum. The young chicken, consisting of three large pieces, was fried after ordering, resulting in a crispy and hot dish. The chicken was very tender, and the sweet and sour flavor complemented the rice well. The dim sum, served fresh from the steamer, included shrimp shumai and steamed dumplings in two varieties. The attention to detail in the preparation was commendable. While the restaurant did not leave a particularly outstanding impression, it would be a good choice for regular dining if located nearby. On this day, the restaurant was bustling with locals.

A Chinese restaurant run by a skilled chef has opened near my home. I was curious about the new restaurant that casually opened in the neighborhood, and after having a few too many drinks at the izakaya next door, I decided to go in. The dim sum dishes, such as steamed shrimp dumplings, sticky rice dumplings, and shumai, were recommended, so I ordered them along with a beer. I was surprised to find that they were just like the dim sum I had in Hong Kong before. The taste was so delicious that I couldn't believe it. When I asked about the chef's background, it turned out that he had trained at a famous restaurant. He said that he could make anything if I made a reservation, including dishes like braised sea cucumber and Peking duck. The lunch set, which includes dessert, is mostly under 900 yen. They also offer a variety of a la carte dishes, so you can enjoy delicious food while drinking good alcohol. I recommend trying their Chinese porridge and mapo tofu.

I think it is a Chinese restaurant that is cheap, delicious, and has a good cost performance, with a friendly owner. It is located near the Chukyo Tax Office in Kyoto. The nearest stations are JR Enmachi Station or Kyoto Municipal Subway Nijo-Omiya Station. I had lunch there. I ordered the "daily lunch" which includes a main dish, rice, soup, Tianjin three items, and a drink. It was less than 1000 yen, so I thought it was cheap. The taste was amazing, especially the Tianjin three items were delicious. The shrimp dumplings were particularly tasty. I would like to visit again when I am in the area.

Theme: Kyoto: Chinese Cuisine
It's been a while since I had Chinese food, and this place is run by just one owner. The restaurant opened in August this year and has only 2 tables and counter seats. They offer a daily lunch menu and dim sum. The daily special is Oyster Tofu for 850 yen, which comes with 3 dim sum dishes, rice, pickles, and soup. The Oyster Tofu is delicious with a slightly sweet flavor that goes well with rice. The dim sum lunch set B for 1180 yen includes 5 dim sum dishes, a daily special, congee, and dessert. The dim sum dishes are served hot and fresh, with plump shrimp and savory siu mai. Be careful with the hot soup in the xiaolongbao, and the meat bun is also a popular item with a generous filling. You can also get takeout. The daily special was sweet and sour pork, which had a nice balance of meat and vegetables. The congee was just the right amount, and the dessert of sesame dumplings and almond jelly was satisfying. This is a casual place where you can enjoy dim sum and Chinese cuisine, and they also offer a dinner course for 1800 yen. Bon appétit!
