Lunch like a New Year's feast in a stacked bento box! It was nice to be able to taste a variety of dishes in small portions. I would love to enjoy it as a snack while drinking alcohol.

Accompanied by my mother, I had lunch with the ladies from the women's group at "Shiki no Course Ryouri Akashi". We enjoyed the limited lunch special, a three-tiered bento box. It had a variety of delicious seasonal fish and fresh vegetables, making it hard to choose where to start. The seaweed salad had a sparkling appearance and a crunchy texture, while the silky smooth sweet red bean soup was comforting. Everything was truly delicious, but I was so full that I only had a bite of the rice with dried small fish and Japanese pepper at the end. Thank you for the meal.

I had a lunch meeting at the traditional Japanese restaurant "Akashi" in Okubo-cho, Uji City with my sister's boyfriend's parents. The weather was great that day, although it was a bit hot. The restaurant specializes in seasonal course meals, and the interior has a few counter seats and tatami seating. The seating includes cylindrical stools under the tables. It's recommended to make a reservation due to limited seating. The meal started with a refreshing summer appetizer, featuring dishes like grated yam with plum, tomato jelly, conger eel, and winter melon. The clear soup with fish balls and water shield was comforting. The sashimi of flatfish was fresh and delicious. The corn dish had a unique flavor that paired well with the broth. The fried tofu with miso was chewy and sweet. The grilled fish was served with the fried tofu and was cooked perfectly. The matcha tempura was surprisingly light and tasty. The meal ended with rice, pickles, miso soup, and a refreshing shiso leaf sorbet. Overall, the meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and had great value for money at 3500 yen.

I heard that they are working hard at a low price, so I decided to visit the place. It is located about a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu Oyodo Station, in a residential area that is difficult to find without detailed knowledge of the area or an enlarged map. When you enter, there are counter seats, table seats, and a raised tatami area, with no wasted space in the small interior. Since the other customers were seated at the table and raised tatami areas, I took a seat at the empty counter. I ordered two servings of hot sake from the landlady and looked at the menu. I decided to go with the cheapest course, the "Akashi Special Course (evenings only)" for 2,000 yen. As I sipped on my sake, the dishes started to arrive. There were salmon roe, kazunoko, and simmered burdock, although the menu listed sesame tofu. The sashimi plate included sea bream, squid, and tuna, with ice surrounding the ingredients directly. The temperature was quite cold that day, so my excitement was dampened (I ordered another serving of hot sake). The fresh yuba had a rich flavor. The tempura included small shrimp and four kinds of vegetables. The chawanmushi had white fish instead of chicken, with a delicious dashi broth. The rice was wrapped in yuba. The meal ended with a clam and rapeseed dish that brought a sense of spring. The flavor and presentation were excellent, and I felt the effort put into the dishes. I look forward to trying the slightly more expensive course for 3,500 yen next time. By the way, I initially thought that the restaurant served dishes like sea bream, mackerel, and octopus based on the name, but it turned out to be the owner's surname.

I made a reservation for lunchtime. It was a weekday, but on this day there were only three reserved groups. Even with a reservation, it takes time for the dishes to come out, so this is a place for those who want to enjoy their meal, conversation, and relaxation. While sipping on delicious hojicha tea, I patiently waited for the fried dishes and others to be ready. The dishes that came out were excellent. The three-tiered jubako box was packed with a variety of delicately prepared dishes. It included dishes like ginkgo nuts and cucumber vinegar, herring teriyaki, fried tofu in sweet miso sauce, shirako (soft roe) with ponzu sauce, mini gratin baked in a shellfish shell, steamed shrimp, sashimi of prawn, sea bream, tuna, and squid, yuba (tofu skin) rolls, persimmon namasu (dressed with vinegar), crispy tempura of eggplant, shishito peppers, and pumpkin, a crunchy salad, pickles, and fragrant rice. And the highlight was the steamed pot with conger eel and matsutake mushrooms! I think it's a seasonal service for autumn. With various flavors to keep you interested, everything was delicious and satisfying, all for just 2160 yen. The prices have been adjusted due to the increase in consumption tax.

I visited the restaurant for a late lunch. I had seen the website before, but the ads made it hard to see the map and menu clearly, so I had trouble finding a reason to go. The restaurant has 6-person and 4-person tatami seating, a 4-person table, and a counter, creating a cozy atmosphere that is relatively easy for even one person to enter. When I said I didn't make a reservation, I was told there was only a 2000 yen seasonal three-tiered box available, which would take about 20 minutes, and I agreed and took my seat. The three-tiered box actually arrived in less than 20 minutes. I started with the sashimi and yuba tier, which I found to be very good. The yuba was also very delicious. They must have confidence in their yuba to offer a course dedicated to it. Besides the box, there was rice, miso soup, and salad. The soup of the day was Matsutake and conger eel steamed in a pot. I didn't expect to get this much for the price. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The other contents of the box were also well-prepared. If I had to nitpick, the grilled dish (I think it was Saikyo-yaki) was a bit cold and tough, and some items were slightly on the salty side for a lunch. However, this wouldn't be an issue if enjoyed with alcohol in the evening. The service at the restaurant was also pleasant, including the greeting from the owner. The lunch may seem a bit pricey, but considering the quality, it offers great value for money.

We made a reservation to have a three-tiered lunch with our family. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm and homey. When the dishes were brought out, at first I thought it might not be enough, but after trying it, I found that it was quite a satisfying amount. We were able to enjoy a variety of Japanese dishes in small portions, and the seasonal vegetables had a gentle and delicious taste. The food was reasonably priced and delicious, so I went back for dinner another day and was able to enjoy the same quality of carefully prepared Japanese cuisine. The location is a bit hidden, but when I called the restaurant, they kindly explained how to get there. This is a restaurant that I definitely want to visit again.

I have been to this restaurant three times in the past year. The first time was for dinner. The food was delicious and the portion size was generous for the price. The second time was for lunch. The bento lunch was tasty and reasonably priced, but the service was slow even though we had made a reservation. We had to wait a long time for our food. The third time, I went with two friends for lunch. Everything went smoothly, the food was delicious as always, and my friends were very satisfied. I will definitely go back again.

About a 5-minute walk south from the back entrance of Aeon (formerly Sati) in Okubo, there is a public bathhouse with a chimney as a landmark. Just before the bathhouse, head east. There is a parking lot available, but if you are using public transportation, it is about a 15-minute walk from either Kintetsu Hisatsugawa or Okubo station. Even with the 2000 yen course, you can be fully satisfied, but when I go with friends and feel like treating ourselves a bit, we sometimes opt for the 3500 yen course. This time, I chose the 3500 yen course because I wanted to try the matsutake mushroom steamed in a pot, which is usually available in autumn. The main course includes options like nama-fu (wheat gluten) and tai (sea bream) simmered in a helmet, and you can choose one from about four different dishes. The meal also includes appetizers, sashimi, matsutake mushroom steamed in a pot, fugu (blowfish) tempura, rice dish (such as chirashi sushi or temari sushi), and dessert like ice cream. The presentation, taste, and portion were all satisfying. The dishes may vary depending on the day, so I look forward to going back when I crave comforting Japanese cuisine. However, note that the restaurant closes at 10 pm, so it's best to visit early if you want to leisurely enjoy your meal.

I had plans to visit Uji, so I decided to check out this restaurant that was recommended in a certain magazine. It is located near the south side of the Self-Defense Forces Okubo Garrison, but it was quite far from JR Niita Station where we walked from. It took us more than 20 minutes on foot. The restaurant is situated in a residential area. Inside the restaurant, it has a cozy and homely atmosphere that makes you feel like staying longer. It's a small place with around 20 seats even when it's full. On the day I visited, a family was having a celebration for their baby's first meal in the tatami room. I ordered the Four Seasons Three-tiered Box (¥2,000). When I opened the three-tiered box with excitement, I found it beautifully arranged with a variety of items such as fresh yuba, sesame tofu, sashimi (sweet shrimp, sea bream, squid), tempura (shrimp, shishito pepper), miso dengaku, scallop miso-grilled dish, fu manju, edamame, jellyfish vinegar, pickled green plums, bamboo shoot and tree bud salad, mixed rice, clear soup, and a small salad. Especially the sashimi was fresh and delicious. The portion was quite generous for the price. It's really cheap for ¥2,000, considering it might cost around ¥4,000 in Kyoto city. The seasoning was quite light, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine. The drinks also seemed reasonably priced. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and approachable, which was nice. The casual atmosphere and good Japanese food make it a welcoming place for families with young children.

Located somewhere in the middle between Kintetsu Okubo Station and Kutsukawa Station, this restaurant is a bit hard to find, even from the main road. I've known about it for about 5 years but never had the chance to visit until now. We made a reservation for 5 people the day before, and at 12 o'clock noon, we were warmly welcomed by the energetic owner. We ordered the three-tiered bento box for 2,160 yen. There is a slightly hidden parking lot in front of the restaurant, with space for about 3 cars. Once we parked, we entered the restaurant and found the owner busy preparing the sake dishes. It took a while for someone to come out and serve us. The taste and portion size lived up to the reputation, despite the difficult location. It's surprising that a place like this can survive. The lack of friendliness and the simple appearance of the restaurant may deter some, but the food is undeniably delicious. Thank you for the meal.
