This was my third visit this time. I wonder why this restaurant doesn't rank higher (at least within the top 50) - it's a bit of a mystery to me. I've been to popular yakiniku restaurants like "Hiro" and "Shikaroku", but I always end up coming back here. I usually order the special yukhoe (which is a bit more expensive than Shikaroku's) & thick-cut sirloin & ichibo, and then I order whatever else I feel like eating at the time. Since I love alcohol, I don't usually order rice dishes, just meat. Those three dishes I mentioned are especially delicious and reasonably priced, so I will definitely order them every time I come here (lol). I haven't been able to go to "Tarae Tarae" because it's a bit far, and "Naritaya" seems a bit too expensive for me to visit (lol). If I go next time, I might go to "Arakawa" which I made a reservation for last month but couldn't go. However, "Gyurakutei" has a wide variety of cuts and is delicious, so I definitely recommend visiting at least once.

Today's dinner was yakiniku at "Gyurakutei" in Shijo Karasuma. I've been here about 10 times already. I've been coming here for about 20 years now. Let's start with a "pomegranate chu-hi". My friend is having a "cassis orange". Pomegranate chu-hi is sweet and delicious. Let's order the meat. All with sauce, please. "Assorted beef tongue", "premium beef skirt steak", "premium beef misuji", "egg soup". Do you have anything different from lean meat, like marbled meat? Then, I'll have the "sesame kalbi". Also, "steamed rice (medium)". That's all for now. Let's sip the egg soup while waiting for the meat. The assorted beef tongue is luxurious! It's a great deal with 4 items. They are all delicious. Especially the one in the bottom right with the most toppings was delicious (toppings are good). Next is the skirt steak. This is a sure winner. And the sesame kalbi that I ordered for the first time. It's softer and easier to eat than kalbi. The misuji is also delicious. "Undercut loin zabuton", "makgeolli (pot)", and another "pomegranate chu-hi" please. The zabuton has marbling and melts in your mouth. Finally, another order of "sesame kalbi". For the finishing touch, "Korean cold noodles (half)". The Korean cold noodles are just delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The seating is spacious, and the assorted cuts of meat are exquisite! We used this restaurant for my high school son's birthday, who loves yakiniku. We have tried various yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto, but this one was the most delicious by far! He said it was the best birthday ever. Hopefully, this will motivate him to study hard for his exams.

I was curious about this place. It was recommended by my junior. The service was really good. Everyone had great smiles. The assorted rare cuts of meat were all delicious, even though I had never heard of some of the cuts before. The one-dish meals were also generous in portion size, and I ended up feeling very full. I heard that the lean cuts were recommended, so I also tried the lean sushi. It was about 300 yen per piece, which was quite reasonable.

Second visit. I always order the premium selected Harami and thick-cut tongue of Japanese beef. The quality and taste are excellent. The meat has a good thickness, allowing you to enjoy the elasticity and meatiness of the Harami. The sauce is a bit light, so I think a slightly thicker sauce would go well with the Harami.

★Located right by Hankyu "Karasuma" and subway "Shijo". Incredibly convenient location. ★Casual atmosphere. Semi-private booths with roll curtains for complete privacy from other customers. Not overly lively but not upscale either. ★Delicious food♡ The best dish we tried was the "Zabuton". The "Kuromame Makgeolli" was also delicious♡

From the moment I entered, the atmosphere was great, and I was able to eat slowly without worrying about others around me! The portion size was generous, and I personally felt that it was worth more than the price. The female staff members were all very pleasant and provided excellent service! It seemed like there were mostly inexperienced male staff members. I now have more places I want to revisit! ( ´˘` )

I ordered the special selected thick-cut beef tongue, wagyu beef upper harami, and wagyu beef tenderloin. The wagyu beef tongue was incredibly juicy, sweet, and tender like marshmallow, it melted in my mouth! Truly top quality wagyu beef. The wagyu beef harami also had just the right amount of marbling for tenderness, and it melted in my mouth as well. The wagyu beef tenderloin had a smooth texture and was deliciously tender. However, the tenderloin was served thinly sliced, and I would have preferred it to be served in thick slices.

Kyoto trip. In the past, I went to places that were Instagram-worthy and ended up regretting it, so I decided to look for a highly rated yakiniku restaurant on Tabelog. I went with my husband at 5:30 pm. You have to take off your shoes inside the restaurant, which gives a nice feeling of freedom for your feet. I made the mistake of wearing flashy socks, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very elegant. The young staff members were extremely polite. The semi-private seating style was quiet and nice. ☆Orders and Impressions☆ Assorted beef tongue - everyone had a different way of eating it! Gyurakutei salad - you can choose the dressing! Upper harami - delicious! Kyoto vegetables - only shiitake and eringi mushrooms? Today's akamimo (red meat) - juicy even though it's thigh meat! Akami nigiri - like roast beef Gokujou nigiri - melts in your mouth Half portion of cold noodles - the noodles were chewy, and the half portion was enough! Soft drinks Rice (medium) ⚠️ The heat is strong, so be careful not to burn the food! There is a 5% discount off the bill with the Tabelog coupon. The sauce options are sweet sauce and ponzu. The beef tongue was small but delicious in various types. My husband doesn't like fatty meat, so he chose thigh meat, which was also delicious! The thick-cut beef tongue was amazing, my husband loved it. We were so full at the end that my husband was groaning, but we were satisfied! I'm sorry for making you tired before work tomorrow, husband, but I was very happy to come to a restaurant with good Tabelog reviews. Thank you for the meal!

The private rooms are the main attraction and have a nice atmosphere. The premium cut assortment is priced at 4750 yen, which is a bit expensive for the amount you get. There were a lot of fatty cuts, which wasn't really to my taste, but the lean cuts were delicious. The upper skirt steak was especially tasty. The bibimbap, kimchi, and yukhoe were all top-notch. I would like to try their course menu next time.

The assorted rare cuts were high in lean meat content. I tried different types of meat sushi and the rice was delicious too. The beef tongue salt had a good chewy texture. The private room added a touch of luxury! Even though they close at 9, they let us stay until 9:30.

The beef had a delicious taste. The salad and side dishes were also good, making the whole course satisfying. I ordered the ¥4000 course at Gyurakutei along with a whole cake. I was worried it might be too much with the sorbet and cake in the course, but the cake wasn't too sweet and the sorbet had a refreshing taste, which was nice. The amount in the ¥4000 course was just right and filled me up.

At the end of the year, I went to Kyoto with my college friends. We used the points we had accumulated from the GOTO campaign to make a reservation online for this place. We were seated on the second floor. We chose the 5000 yen course with a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option. We were served a Korean-style salad with dried baby sardines, kimchi, and duck breast at the beginning, followed by various meats. The portion of the salad was surprisingly large. The meat was consistently elegant in appearance, almost too good to grill (lol). What stood out about this place was not just the taste of the meat, but the excellent service and atmosphere provided by the staff. The draft beer was served in a frosty mug every time, and the staff would quickly attend to us when called. The sirloin steak was around 80 grams. It was small but easy to chew, tender, and really good. The Namul rice was unexpectedly delicious, I wanted to order more (*´ω`*). I'm not sure if I will visit this Kyoto restaurant again, but if you want a quiet dining experience, I recommend this place.

Lunchtime on this day was quite hot, and I couldn't think of anything to eat other than cold noodle dishes... I decided to try the cold noodles at this restaurant, which recently started serving lunch. They are known for providing carefully selected A4 rank or higher authentic black Japanese beef, without focusing on specific regions or brands. I placed my order and paid at the register near the entrance, then moved to the second floor seating area. The drink was included in the lunch menu as a service, but they didn't have iced coffee so I chose "Lemon Squash." I had the luxury of using a semi-private booth by myself... I ordered the "Cold Noodles (900 yen)" and it was served instantly. Although I didn't have much of an appetite, it felt a bit lonely to only eat the cold noodles... On top of the cold noodles were kimchi, boiled egg, watercress, white onion, and two slices of beef. I started to feel a bit tired of the monotonous soup taste before my stomach got full. I tried adding vinegar halfway through, but... If the temperature were lower, I would have preferred to have my favorite "Stone Pot Bibimbap" instead. Personally, if the cold noodles were served in a smaller size with Kimbap as a set, I might end up visiting this place once a week during the upcoming heat. I used this restaurant to celebrate with friends. They requested yakiniku, so I found a nice place and chose it. The meat was tender and felt more luxurious than regular yakiniku. The side dishes were also delicious. If you want to have a slightly luxurious time, you will be satisfied enough.

During my trip to Kyoto, the hotel concierge recommended me to visit Gyorakutei. I had the black wagyu beef course and it was delicious. The restaurant has semi-private rooms and it was very calming, especially since it was a weekday. Everything I ate was tasty, and I would definitely come back again!

It was a delicious and cost-effective yakiniku restaurant. Appetizers included kimchi, duck roast salad, Korean seaweed and fish roe watercress salad, and plenty of fresh vegetables. The salt-grilled dishes included premium private beef tongue, three-layer pork belly, and Awa tail chicken thigh. The meat was tender and flavorful. The premium steak was a sirloin steak with fine marbling and excellent taste. Rice, namul rice, and yuzu sorbet dessert were also served. Two beers and two wines cost 15,680 yen (for two people). On the second day of a quick trip to Kyoto for an elderly couple, on Saturday, November 17th, they visited the head temple of the Shingon sect, To-ji Temple. To-ji Temple was built in the 15th year of Enryaku (796). Despite facing disasters such as typhoons, lightning, fires, and wars over its 1200-year history, most of the temple's buildings were rebuilt to maintain the old Kyoto's symbol. After the meal, they hurried to see the illuminated To-ji Temple. Due to the slightly late timing, there was not much crowding, allowing them to enjoy the visit. Although the autumn leaves were not yet in full bloom, the illumination of the national treasure pagoda, rebuilt in the Edo period, was breathtakingly beautiful and moving.

It's a table seat with partitions like a private room, making it easy to have personal conversations, and the prices are reasonable. However, even though I made a 5 o'clock reservation, the restaurant was closed, so I had to wait a bit. It was only about 5 minutes, so I didn't feel upset, but I'm not sure if it was just that day or if it's always like that. If I use it again next time, I will make a 5:30 reservation.

The standard course, Gyu-raku course for 4,500 yen plus drinks totaling around 5,300 yen, has more variety and quantity than expected and is delicious. In a sea of courses that often leave you wanting more, this one is quite filling. It includes pork, beef, and chicken dishes. You'll get pork belly, tongue, kalbi, loin, steak, and thigh meat, so you'll leave feeling satisfied. It's recommended and the taste is also fulfilling.
