At Sazoneka in Baba, Kameoka City, you can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine at a great value with their service sets. Today, we went to the beach in Maizuru and on our way back, we stopped by a hot spring in Ayabe, then leisurely drove through the back roads to Kyoto. Along the way, we were thinking about where to have dinner. My wife suggested this restaurant. When we called, they had seats available, which was lucky since it was just before 7 pm. When we looked at the menu, we were drawn to the set menu that had been recommended in reviews. I ordered the sweet and sour pork set. The sweet and sour pork was prepared perfectly, with a great balance of tangy sauce. The dim sum that came with it was also delicious. The portions were generous and we left satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to visit a famous Italian restaurant in Kameoka, but unfortunately it was closed. So, I decided to drive back to Kyoto city and stumbled upon a Chinese restaurant in a residential area slightly off Route 9. They had two daily lunch specials written on a board outside. Since I was in the mood for noodles, I decided to check out their menu inside. They had a lunch set with tantanmen noodles, which could be changed to chashu noodles for those who don't like spicy food. The set also came with lettuce fried rice, and you could choose between almond jelly or fried chicken as an additional side for just an extra 100 yen. I opted for the almond jelly set. The food arrived quickly, in about 5 minutes. The tantanmen noodles were a decent size, not too spicy, and you could adjust the spiciness by adding some chili sauce provided on the table. The lettuce fried rice was light and easy to eat, but it lacked the typical fluffy texture. It seemed like it might have been pre-cooked due to the quick service. The almond jelly tasted like it might have been store-bought, lacking a homemade feel. The portion sizes were generous, so it might be a good choice for those who enjoy sweets. The restaurant is a bit away from Kameoka city center, but they have parking available, making it convenient for those traveling by car.

From the northern part of Osaka, it takes about an hour to reach the city of Kameoka by driving on regular roads. On weekends and holidays, it might even be faster to take the regular roads rather than the highway (Meishin) due to traffic congestion. As you cross the mountains at the prefectural border, you'll see the Kameoka Basin, the southern end of the Yamashiro Province, spread out before you. Tucked away in a residential area just across from Al Plaza Kameoka along Route 9, this restaurant has been my go-to spot for about five years now. As a lover of B-grade gourmet food, this place is my number one Chinese restaurant. The ingredients vary with the seasons, featuring plenty of fresh seasonal vegetables, likely sourced from the renowned Kyoto vegetable region. In addition, high-quality ingredients like shark fin and oolong tea, symbols of China, are used in the dishes. The chef, originally from Beijing, tends to favor a lighter, more refined flavor profile (reminiscent of Guangzhou cuisine?). And when it comes to portion size and price, the menu may list sets as "half," but even ordering a single item provides a generous serving that will satisfy even a big eater. And all this for just 1,000 yen, with change to spare even after enjoying a post-meal coffee. As I was leaving the restaurant, I happened to run into the owner, who bore a striking resemblance to the manga artist Yoshikazu Ebisu. His kind smile and gracious "Thank you very much" left me feeling doubly satisfied with both the food and the service!

This Chinese restaurant is located in a residential area in Baba Hori. It is a bit off the main road, so I had never noticed it before. On this day, my family visited for dinner for the first time. We were seated at a large round table in the back tatami room, which rotates in the center. We quickly ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. The menu offered a wide range of dishes, from classic to creative options. The dishes arrived promptly, filling up the table in no time. They were all reasonably priced and came in generous portions. The flavors were generally light, making it easy for both the elderly and children to enjoy. The dishes were all packed with ingredients, offering a high level of satisfaction. The service was polite and accommodating, making it a great choice for families with children. Overall, it was a convenient and satisfying Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. It's a shame I didn't know about it earlier. I would definitely like to visit again.

This restaurant is a very authentic Chinese cuisine place, and the chef is all the way from China. You can enjoy delicious Chinese food every day here. The restaurant itself is designed in a Chinese style with round tables, making it suitable for large groups like big families, parties, or banquets. There are also tatami rooms available for a more intimate dining experience. The most recommended dish here is the shrimp chili. The shrimp chili here is very authentic and spicy, perfect for those who love spicy food. However, despite the spiciness, it also has the natural sweetness of the shrimp, creating a delicious combination. They also offer course meals, so you can enjoy eating with your family. Please come visit the restaurant once.

This shop is located north of Kameoka TSUTAYA. It is in a residential area, so I never noticed it before. Even though it was lunchtime, the parking lot was full. There was a sign at the entrance saying A lunch for 714 yen and B lunch for 934 yen, so I decided to look at the menu inside before making a choice. When I sat down and looked at the lunch menu, there were so many options that I felt like it would take a long time to try them all. There were many menu items between 700 yen and 1000 yen. I ordered the Almond Tofu Set for 840 yen. It came with cabbage fried rice, tantan noodles, salad, pickles, and almond tofu. Even though it said half-size for the fried rice and tantan noodles, they didn't seem small at all. The taste of everything was delicious and would appeal to everyone. Despite being a Chinese restaurant, they also offered a cake and coffee set for 480 yen. It was clear that customers were constantly coming in.

I often use this restaurant. I always make a reservation before using it, and there are tatami rooms, so it's safe even with small children. I think the taste is a bit strong, but it's very delicious because it's solid. The price is normal. There are also good value sets during lunchtime, so you'll be full. The fried rice is a bit bland, though.

There is a large tatami room divided by screens where even families with children can relax. The lunch menu is affordable, and I personally like the seafood ramen which comes with plenty of vegetables and rice. The daily special menu is also under 1000 yen and fills you up. The restaurant can accommodate large groups, making it suitable for business entertaining or parties. By making a reservation in advance, we were able to choose our favorite dishes for a group of 18 people. Even during busy lunch hours, we were told we could stay as long as we wanted, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal.

I went to lunch and dinner with my colleagues at this workplace. They have a good deal with A and B lunch sets, which filled us up quite nicely. Even the big eaters were satisfied! They also have a variety of a la carte options, so we were quite full at lunch. They have tatami seating, so it's fine even with a large group. For dinner, if you have a large group, you can even reserve a private tatami room. The drink selection (alcohol) was also good. They helped us plan a course that fit our budget. My favorite is the lettuce fried rice. The lettuce is crispy and delicious.
