I visited Otabe Main Store in Takahata-cho, Nishikujo, Minami-ku, Kyoto City. It is located about a 10-minute walk from Kintetsu Jujo Station, making it easily accessible by public transportation. It is also about a 10-minute drive from the Meishin Kyoto Minami IC, with parking available for convenience. The store has a clean and welcoming atmosphere, with a cafe space inside. There are 20 seats available, including table and sofa seating. They offer a variety of Otabe products, making it a great place to choose Kyoto souvenirs. On this visit, I purchased the Kyoto Tea Leaf Langue de Chat (10 pieces for 1170 yen). It is made with Kyoto Uji "Morihan" tea leaves and soy milk. The Langue de Chat cookies are shaped like tea leaves and lightly baked, with a filling of white chocolate mixed with tea. The cookies have a fragrant tea aroma and a smooth soy milk flavor, making them delicious. I would love to visit again in the future. Thank you!

The dessert at "Otabe" main store was "Mizumanju" and "Warabi mochi" that I bought. I used to only associate "Otabe" with "Yatsuhashi" and "Kyobam" so I never really approached it, but I heard that a theme park related to "Kyobam" was opening next to the main store this autumn, so I decided to stop by. Inside the store, there were various types of Yatsuhashi displayed, and I tried a Godiva collaboration Yatsuhashi which was incredibly delicious! They also had a wide variety of cakes, which I learned are actually quite famous here! I was torn on what to buy, but decided to go for Japanese sweets first, so I chose "Mizumanju" and "Warabi mochi". These are not purely traditional Japanese sweets as the Mizumanju had fruit paste inside, and the Warabi mochi had red bean paste and cream at the bottom, giving them a fusion of Japanese and Western flavors. Each of these cost a little over 400 yen, and considering that convenience store sweets are a little under 400 yen, I might be inclined to buy these if I feel like having cup sweets next time. I quite liked them, so I'm thinking of getting a roll cake or cheesecake on my next visit.

I received a gift from a friend, GODIVA x Nama Yatsuhashi. It's a new product released this month, and it's only available for a limited time at Shin-Osaka Station. I'm happy about it! It's ganache style, which is convenient for gifting as it can be stored at room temperature. The Yatsuhashi dough is dusted with kinako instead of sugar. Inside, there's chocolate. The combination of kinako and chocolate ganache is great. The box is labeled "GODIVA," which is really nice! Especially older gentlemen would be delighted to receive something with the GODIVA brand. I received a really nice gift.

There are ten types of sweets at this shop, and the staff will explain each one in detail. There is a parking lot in front of the shop. I tried the "Melting Soft Eight Bridges" and the "Kyobam Suble" for the first time. The outer layer of the Eight Bridges seems normal, but the inside has a bitter taste that hits you at first, followed by a caramel flavor that is delicious. It's like a sophisticated version of Eight Bridges for adults. As for the Kyobam Suble, I couldn't quite catch the Kyoto flavor, but it was a tasty treat. Both items are individually wrapped, making them perfect for souvenirs.

I had these for the first time in a while (^o^)♪ Kotabe is not only delicious, but now it's even easier to eat with its bite-sized pieces. About half the size this time, I tried the Nikki nama yatsuhashi with coarse red bean paste. It has a soft texture and is a classic Nikki flavor, as well as matcha (Nikki-less matcha nama yatsuhashi with coarse red bean paste). There are various seasonal flavors with colorful packaging. From chestnut (Nikki-less nama yatsuhashi with chestnut sweet bean paste) to black bean (Nikki-less nama yatsuhashi with black bean sweet bean paste) and chocolate (Nikki-less cocoa nama yatsuhashi with chocolate paste), receiving or giving these series of products becomes a fun experience.

I found a place while wandering around looking for customers, and they had a trial balm for ¥356 with PayPay. Today's temperature was like October, so I took it back with me and kept it under the seat of my car so the fondant wouldn't melt. The fluffy texture and the matcha fondant were irresistible. Thank you for the meal!

I usually prefer Western-style cream-filled Yatsuhashi, so I was satisfied with the regular Yatsuhashi. However, I was intrigued by the newly released Yatsuhashi and decided to purchase it. The orange box is cute! The caramel wrapped in Yatsuhashi has a subtle bitterness that follows after the sweetness, making it delicious. I couldn't have imagined it, but it's truly impressive. It received great feedback from my colleague who doesn't like red bean paste. The individually wrapped packaging is also great for sharing. It makes for a nice new souvenir from Kyoto. Thank you for the meal.

This is a souvenir from my son's school trip. I used to not eat sweet things at all (I used to be a heavy smoker and didn't like sweet things), but now I eat them normally. I don't have any food preferences except for cinnamon, which I can eat but don't particularly like. Yes, the souvenir is a collection of things I don't like. However, since it's a cute souvenir from my son, I decided to try it. It was two types of Hachiya, one with chestnut and the other with purple sweet potato. I tried the purple sweet potato one... It was surprisingly delicious! The flavor of the purple sweet potato was strong and tasty. And there was no cinnamon taste! When I checked the ingredients, it didn't contain cinnamon. It must be delicious (^^) As for the chestnut one, it didn't really taste like chestnut, but more like white bean paste. Again, no cinnamon! Both had a refined sweetness and were delicious.

I passed by near in the morning, so I made a detour to get that thing. You never know if they have it until you go inside. Luckily, they had it (・∀・)・ Tried the Kyoto Baum for ¥356 with PayPay. It's great to get something over a thousand yen for this price. Managed to bring it back without the fondant melting, and I'll enjoy it after drinking tonight. The matcha-flavored sweetness of the cake combined with the matcha fondant is delicious! \(^o^)/ Can't wait for the all-you-can-drink green tea to resume. Thank you for the meal!

After a long time, I decided to try some fresh Yatsuhashi. When it comes to Yatsuhashi, Otabe is famous. I tried the "Haru Otabe" which is a set of sakura mochi and sakura bean paste. It's a spring limited edition. The sakura mochi has mochi rice in it, making it really taste like sakura mochi.

The best souvenir from my subordinates' trip to Kyoto is definitely the fresh Yatsuhashi. As a lover of mochi, red bean paste, and cinnamon, I can't think of any other wagashi that surpasses this. The moment it enters my mouth, the aroma of cinnamon that escapes through my nose makes me feel happy, and the combination of red bean paste and mochi creates an irresistible texture. In Kyoto, some stores offer hands-on workshops where you can learn how to make fresh Yatsuhashi, so I definitely want to try making it at home. Although I could eat it endlessly, its value lies in savoring just a little bit. I am grateful for the blissful moment I was able to enjoy. Satisfied.

When it comes to souvenirs in Kyoto, Otabe is a must-buy. Kyoto Baum is also popular. So, I visited the Otabe store. This time, I bought Kyoto Baum, Kyoto Baum Sablé, Shikaku ni Shikaku Kinako Choco, all of which are delicious choices for souvenirs. I can't show you the contents since they are souvenirs, but they are all tasty. Kyoto Baum Sablé is also perfect for souvenirs as they come in small packages. The taste is delicious too. Shikaku ni Shikaku Kinako Choco is a souvenir I bought for the first time, and it is a very delicious snack. It has a rich flavor that goes well with coffee or tea.

The filling of the otabe is very delicious. It's like ohagi for the equinoctial week. Hachihashi often has cinnamon in it, but I don't like cinnamon so I was happy that this one didn't have it and was very delicious. The mochi is very soft, like my skin (I say this because no one else will).

I found a limited summer edition of otabe. It's made with warabi mochi and smooth red bean paste with matcha flavor. Since there were no large sizes available, I got the larger one with chunky red bean paste and matcha. Recently, there are individually wrapped otabe available, making them perfect for souvenirs. I will enjoy them deliciously.

I received a souvenir from my senior called "Kotabe". It is a smaller version of the original "Otabe", making it easy to eat in one bite. Among various flavors, I received the "Matcha" flavor. When I opened the box, I found the cute bite-sized pieces. Upon tasting, the combination of the kinako powder on the surface, the matcha flavor in the dough, and the balance of the red bean paste inside was excellent. Simply put, it was delicious. It seems that they also sell them online, so if you're interested, I highly recommend trying them out!

◯Visiting time and crowdedness Around 6:00 PM, not crowded ◯Takeout sweets purchased Chestnut sweet paste, Sweet black soybeans paste, Sweet red beans paste, Rice cracker, Matcha green tea ◯Impressions I visited here while on a business trip to Kyoto. I didn't know that Otabe's headquarters was located here, so as a fan of Otabe, I was quite impressed. I realized that there are quite a variety of Otabe products now, so I purchased all the different types available. I enjoyed them with a warm hojicha tea at home.

Yatsuhashi, a souvenir that will be appreciated - an evolved series of sweets. Chocolate is delicious, right? It can bring out various flavors, but the classic taste is the best. The bitter chocolate perfectly matches the cinnamon-like flavor of Yatsuhashi. Thank you for the delicious meal!

This is my second visit. Last time, I came to buy souvenirs for a friend from another prefecture. This time, I stopped by on my way back from shopping at Aeon on my bicycle because I remembered they sold "cakes". I was surprised when I went in, the prices were quite high. I thought it might be a bit too much for everyday use for me (laughs). I bought a cream puff for 270 yen and two summer orange eclairs for 324 yen. They were delicious, but a bit pricey for my taste. Thank you for the meal. I apologize for using them in a somewhat inappropriate way.

Kyoto's famous confectionery, Yatsuhashi. Various manufacturers sell Yatsuhashi, but for some reason, it is often called "otabe" instead of "Yatsuhashi." That's how prominent Otabe is among Yatsuhashi. Recently, a Ruby chocolate Otabe has been released. It is said to be the "fourth type of chocolate" after dark, milk, and white. It is pink in color, fruity, and sweet-sour. To highlight its unique flavor, they have intentionally not used the traditional cinnamon in Yatsuhashi.
