At first, the Daifuku bread was only available at the Marui Imai store. From 4/1, it is now available at all stores, and I was able to purchase it without waiting in line. The Daifuku bread (228 yen) is a mochi-like bread with a mildly sweet red bean paste filling. It is delicious on its own, but even better when lightly warmed for a more chewy texture. It was tasty, but I felt satisfied after trying it once.

I found a traditional Japanese sweets shop in the department store basement and tried one piece at a time. The shop was a mix of Japanese and Western sweets, and even sold bread. The packaging was stylish and showed a spirit of taking on challenges. When I gave them as souvenirs to my children, they were very happy. It was delicious. Thank you. D Works uniform discount.

I had been curious about it for a while, so my wife went to 【Chishuan Marui Imai Store】 at the Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store's basement 2nd floor on my behalf. When I went during the day, there was a huge line and I couldn't buy anything. But when my wife went, she was able to buy it right away. She brought back the "Daifuku Bread (230 yen)" for me. I had seen it on TV and was really interested in trying it. Finally, I got to eat it! But somehow, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I can see why the line disappeared.

This is Marui Imai in Sapporo. The neighboring castella shop closed down and was replaced by Senkyuan, which expanded the sales floor. The flagship product is the "Daifuku Bread" exclusive to Marui Imai. After purchasing, there was a long line of people waiting. I bought 1 piece for myself and 2 pieces for my wife because I heard it was made with rice flour, which is not my preference. I bought them in the morning and had them in the evening after work. I didn't really feel the "mochi mochi" texture that was advertised. The bread is supposed to be like a "mantou" with rice flour, but when I tried it, I didn't feel anything special. It felt more like something to wash down with tea. As it is, there is no element that would make it popular. I'd rather have a good anman from Inoue-ya. Despite being the flagship product, I honestly feel bad giving this feedback. My wife agrees. Thank you for the meal.

Marui Imai Odori Building B2F, there is a place called Chishuian. I couldn't resist and bought it again. It's the Norseman! I came to buy Imakawayaki, and then I saw Chishuian across the way (a bit off). I just had to have it. It's a bit upscale being inside a department store. It feels like a different Chishuian from the usual (laughs). But I ended up buying the usual Norseman, 3 pieces. Moist pie and subtly sweet red bean paste. The taste is just the same as always. It was delicious to have with tea time. Thank you for the meal. I will write a review of Imakawayaki another day.

This is a photo from last year... I have visited Marui Imai's "Chishuian" several times, but since I haven't reviewed it yet, I decided to purchase their usual "Northman". The moist texture of the pastry is quite nice, is it made of pie crust? I like the contrast between the soft texture of the pastry and the mild sweetness of the red bean paste. It tastes even better when eaten with milk. It's like the "Anpan and milk theory" from the stakeout detective, haha. I think I will continue to purchase from either place from time to time. Thank you for the meal.

Senkyuan (Sapporo) is a long-established confectionery chain that used to be located throughout Hokkaido, but recently the main store building has been turned into a hotel, and the business scale has been gradually shrinking, which is a bit sad. However, it is reassuring to see that the famous confectionery like "Yama Oyaji" continues to be available. This is a store located in the basement of the Marui Imai Sapporo main store.

While walking down the street, I noticed a poster shaped like a violin. I had never thought about going to Senkyuan to buy Valentine's chocolates before. I felt like having Norseman and decided to stop by the shop. I want to give this chocolate to the son of a violin player. Without looking at the price, I bought this rare chocolate instantly. The recipient also said that they would buy it themselves after seeing it, making it a wonderful gift.

This is a branch of "Senshuan" located inside the Marui Imai department store in Sapporo. The underground floors of department stores in the city often have a variety of traditional Japanese sweets shops, and Senshuan is one of them. You can easily find their shops all over the region, making it convenient to enjoy their sweets. This time, I bought a larger traditional Japanese sweet that I don't usually eat. The one I purchased is called "Shiogama-ma," which made me think of Shiogama-yaki (a type of grilled fish). The appearance of the sweet is like sugar hardened like salt, with sweet red bean paste inside. While the outer layer is not just sugar, it seems to be mixed with glutinous rice or something similar, giving it a crumbly texture. It's similar to something you might see on a Buddhist altar, if that makes sense. The Daifuku with black beans was soft and delicious, and the Duck Wafers with marmalade were also quite good.

This is the second post. Chishuan is a long-established confectionery shop, but I feel like they could put a little more effort into it. I recently had a "Northman" for the first time in a while. It's an old snack, but the combination of pie and red bean paste was a new concept back then. Even though other manufacturers now have similar products, I still think Chishuan's is the most delicious. They don't use unnecessary additives in their ingredients, so you can enjoy their snacks with peace of mind.

In November 2012, Chishuuan, a local confectionery store in Sapporo, established in 1921. Rokkatei in Obihiro is a store that branched off from Chishuuan. In the past, whenever there was something special, people would use Chishuuan. The TV commercials were quite popular, with the iconic character "Yama Oyaji" from Chishuuan. Nowadays, you don't hear about it as much. When passing by the store, you can still see "Yama Oyaji" displayed. I don't usually buy their products, but a companion wanted to try it again, so we bought some. The store is located in the Marui Imai Department Store on the 2nd basement floor in the central district of Sapporo. For more details on the store location, please check on Tabelog. We also bought the classic "Northman" and some "hanshinko" half-baked sweets. Chishuuan is known for its famous "Yama Oyaji" cookies, made with Hokkaido butter, milk, and eggs. They have a slightly sweet and crispy texture. A pack of 5 costs 292 yen. The "Northman" cookies, introduced around 1975, are another iconic product of Chishuuan. They are made with Hokkaido red beans and have a delicate sweetness. Each costs 167 yen. The "hanshinko" half-baked sweets, made with vividly colored leaves of Japanese maple, have a unique texture that disappears in your mouth when you bite into them. They offer a subtle sweetness with a hint of sugar on the surface. A pack of 6 costs 504 yen. I personally enjoy the texture of these sweets and appreciate how they add color to the seasons, showcasing Hokkaido's diverse flavors. With confectionery shops from all over Hokkaido expanding into Sapporo, it's important to support local stores like Chishuuan. It was a delicious experience, thank you.

I received a traditional Japanese sweet as a gift. I deeply appreciate it. It has a chewy texture of mochi rice and a sweet red bean paste flavor. Personally, I like the cherry blossom leaf. I will try to express my thoughts in a picky manner. It may be difficult to understand due to certain restrictions on how I can write, which may lead to confusion. Also, there may be some complaints included, so I recommend skipping over them. I used to eat the sweets from Chishuan at Marui Imai store regularly, but I will express my true feelings about the gift I received. Of course, this is based on personal preferences and subjective opinions, but... However, in this case, ... ... That's all for now, it was a bit incomplete... ☆☆☆ Coming Soon ☆☆☆ I like the sweets from Chishuan itself.
