Today, I came here. A restaurant near the level crossing at Terada Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, specializing in soba. The quaint interior has a kitchen in the back right, with no counter seats, 5 four-person table seats, and 3 raised tatami seats. It's right in the middle of lunchtime, but there are no other customers, and it's eerily quiet. Probably run by a family of three. The menu, neatly written in bold letters, offers soba, udon, rice bowls, and set meals, all priced under 1000 yen. I ordered the "Tempura Set Meal (Udon)"... Warm tea that seeps into my wet body from the rain haha. It arrived after a while. The lightly oval-shaped thin udon is soft enough to break with a bite, lacking firmness, chewiness, or stretchiness. The broth is decent but not particularly flavorful. The ingredients are simple, with only one medium-sized tempura shrimp and thinly sliced green onions. I sprinkled some shichimi on top... The rice has a moist texture and a mild seasoning. Both have a gentle flavor suited for the elderly, leaving me slightly unsatisfied as someone who isn't quite there yet. It's not bad by any means though. The service was good. Overall, a unique perspective. Wheelchair accessible, no parking available near the entrance.

This shop, located very close to Kintetsu Terada Station, I visited for lunch during a business trip nearby. I arrived around 11:20 am with no other customers. The interior of the shop, with table and tatami seating, is quite spacious. The menu is quite affordable, with set meals available as well. I ordered the "Tempura Set Meal for 730 yen." You can choose between soba or udon, and this time I chose soba. The Tempura Soba is 630 yen, and the mixed rice is 250 yen, so it's quite a good deal. After a short wait, the meal arrived. The Tempura Soba had one large prawn tempura and chopped green onions on top. The prawn tempura was surprisingly large, which was nice. The soba and broth were quite standard. It had a familiar taste that I've had somewhere before. This kind of flavor might be suitable for everyday use and appeal to a wide range of customers. The mixed rice was a bit bland for my taste. The atmosphere in the shop was very calming with a traditional Japanese feel. I felt like staying longer. The staff's service was simple and endearing. They came to refill my tea at the right time. The Noppei Soba had simmered shiitake mushrooms, rolled omelette, enoki mushrooms, spinach, and fish cake. It's a hot dish with thick sauce. I've had the hot pot udon many times since a long time ago. It's also full of ingredients and perfect for cold days♪ It feels like a local traditional udon shop. I often see families with children coming out of the shop. The delivery staff and phone service at the restaurant are also very friendly, and I really like it. I just sometimes have an irresistible craving for it＾＾
