I stopped by here when I went out in Kyoto. It is a tonkatsu restaurant located up Kawaramachi Marutamachi. ・Tonkatsu set meal 120g: 1240 yen The tonkatsu goes well with the sauce and is delicious! It's great that you can have unlimited pickles! The rice and miso soup are also delicious! It was good.

I ordered a 120g fillet cutlet for lunch! It cost 1600 yen and I was full. The restaurant was busy with customers coming in one after another, so it seems to be popular for lunch. My friend got a rice refill. It's a good deal to eat a lot, right? It's close by, so I plan to visit again.

I went to have dinner at this restaurant for the first time. I arrived before 7 o'clock, but it was full and I had to wait for about 30 minutes. It's a popular place! I ordered a pork cutlet bowl. It was a shame that the rice in the pork cutlet bowl was not barley rice, but it was delicious and very filling. You can have unlimited refills of rice and cabbage, which is amazing! My companion had seconds of rice. I will definitely come back. They also say the croquettes are delicious, so next time I want to try the croquettes too.

When you come to Kyoto, be sure to visit this restaurant. The tonkatsu is carefully fried in fresh oil until crispy, and the finely shredded cabbage, pickles, and barley rice are all delicious. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. It's hard to find a restaurant with such good value for money. The staff are also kind and attentive. Highly recommended.

The tonkatsu is delicious and I often visit this place. This time, I ordered the loin cutlet. The breading is crispy and the meat is delicious. They offer unlimited pickles, and free refills of miso soup and rice, so it's great value for money. I plan to come back soon to have their katsudon!

It's Kyoto. In Kyoto, there was a restaurant near Kyoto University, a little down Kawaramachi Street from Imadegawa. I found this place while looking for a lunch spot and decided to check it out. Inside the restaurant, the tables were spacious and nicely arranged. The ceramic containers for sauce and dressing placed on the table showed attention to detail, so I had high hopes for the tonkatsu. However, I was surprised to see that the water glasses were cheap plastic cups, which was unexpected. The staff were polite and efficient, which was nice. I ordered the mixed tonkatsu and chicken katsu set meal. First, they brought out rice and pickles in a wooden tub, followed by the katsu set meal after about 12-13 minutes. The plates for the katsu, sauce, and pickles were all nicely chosen and seemed to have some thought put into them. But I still couldn't understand why they used those cheap plastic cups for water. The katsu pieces were smaller than I expected, and the taste was average - not particularly delicious or bad. The price was reasonable, but the portion was a bit lacking. The breadcrumbs on the katsu were large, which I liked. The cabbage, miso soup, and rice were refillable, and the staff were attentive, making the experience comfortable. The restaurant was full, with customers waiting outside in the rain with umbrellas. I wondered why they weren't waiting inside, but we finished our meal quickly and left. I'm not sure if I would go back again.

The interior of the restaurant is clean and the seats are spacious, making it easy to use. I ordered the 160-gram pork loin. You can get refills of cabbage, miso soup, and barley rice. The cabbage comes with yuzu dressing. The taste is on par with other tonkatsu restaurants, neither better nor worse. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are reasonable, so I think it's worth a visit.

This is a revisit. It's quite easy to use even with children, which is nice. We ordered: - Rosukatsu (160g) with Menchikatsu - Hirekatsu and Chickenkatsu - Kids' tonkatsu (minced cutlet, mini shrimp fry, potato croquette) When children eat, they tend to scatter the breadcrumbs of the cutlet. Oh, I appreciate the staff's response.

I had some business at Fudai Medical University Hospital and was looking for a place to have lunch when I found a tonkatsu restaurant nearby! I was quite hungry, so I didn't hesitate to enter for the first time. It was around 11:30. The restaurant quickly filled up with customers. Since it was my first time, I ordered the classic 120g pork cutlet. Refills for rice, miso soup, and cabbage are allowed. The rice is served in a traditional wooden rice container. Finally, the pork cutlet arrived. I enjoyed it with the special sauce provided. It was labeled as pork shoulder on the menu, so I was curious about the taste. It was surprisingly tender, almost like a mille-feuille. Be careful not to overeat with the rice served in the container. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After class, it's a tradition to eat something delicious before heading home. Since the restaurants in Shimogamo were all closed or full, I decided to try the tonkatsu at Goshohigashi Tonkatsu Street, where I had the 160g pork loin cutlet. I've always been curious about this place as a tonkatsu lover, but I never had the chance to stop by before. I'm happy to finally be able to try it out.

Lunch today was at "Katsukatsu Tonton" for the first time. ・Rosu Katsu (120g) 1,360 yen (tax included) After a while, barley rice, pickled vegetables in a jar, and a sauce dish are served. Prepare by mixing the sauce and mustard with the barley rice. The main dish arrives in about 7 minutes after ordering! Let's dig in. It's tender! The rosu katsu is as soft as tenderloin! It's delicious! Next, try it with the sauce. It's sweet and fruity. It's delicious! Personally, I prefer it a bit spicier. The 120g portion was just right. It's very satisfying! The thin tempura and miso soup with seaweed are also good. I had seconds. They bring out a fresh, hot refill of miso soup, which is reassuring during the pandemic. The barley rice is delicious as well. The plentiful pickled vegetables are also good. I had about three helpings of barley rice. With free refills of barley rice, miso soup, and cabbage, you're sure to be full! It's great value for money. I'm full now. Thank you for the meal!

I knew it existed, but I always passed by because I was always full, so I visited for the first time. It was similar to Katsukatsu and Tonkatsu Kura, so I thought it would be okay. There were quite a few customers, which surprised me! They offer miso soup, cabbage, rice, and you can get refills.

I ordered the 160g size katsudon with brown rice. They offer free refills for cabbage and miso soup, so I had two refills of cabbage and miso soup. It was very delicious. The katsu was tender, not too fatty, and full of flavor. The combination of egg and rice was especially good. Thank you for the meal!

Visited this popular restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. It was constantly full with customers coming and going. My son had the 120g pork cutlet set for 1340 yen, my husband had the 160g pork cutlet set for 1670 yen, and I had the 120g pork tenderloin cutlet set for 1450 yen. The miso soup was easy to drink with a nice flavor. The pork cutlets had just the right amount of fat and were juicy. The pork tenderloin was tender and had a rich meaty flavor. The rice was barley rice served in a traditional wooden rice container. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage, miso soup, and rice. The restroom was spacious and clean, and the restaurant itself was new and clean, which I appreciated. They provide a ticket for a manned parking lot across the street. The only downside was that the crosswalk to the parking lot was a bit far and inconvenient to walk to. Overall, it was a delicious meal. I wouldn't say it's a must-visit place, but the fact that they are open every day without a break is convenient.

Today, I took a day off from work and decided to explore Kyoto. I walked along the Kamo River from Kyoto Station to the Demachiyanagi area for about an hour, taking a break near the river to relax. Despite it being almost December, the autumn leaves are still beautiful, thanks to the warm autumn this year. After walking a considerable distance, my stomach started growling, craving for food. I checked on an app and found a tonkatsu specialty restaurant nearby called "Katsukatsu Tonton." I decided to treat myself and ordered the regular tonkatsu set (160g for 1,370 yen). The tonkatsu arrived, and it was huge and delicious. The cabbage, rice, and miso soup were refillable. The tonkatsu was perfectly fried, tender, and flavorful. The sauce was rich and aromatic, enhancing the overall experience. I enjoyed every bite and felt completely satisfied with the meal. If I have the chance, I would definitely visit this restaurant again. It was a delightful experience.

Kawaramachi Street, I saw a big sign and flag for a restaurant that caught my attention while driving. I usually don't go to places like that if they don't have a parking lot, especially if I'm just passing by. But on this day, I was helping with some work, so I parked my car at a nearby parking lot and decided to explore the area alone. This place was already open early, which was convenient! I ordered a pork cutlet and croquette set meal for 1,120 yen. It came with a 60-gram pork cutlet, one croquette, rice, miso soup, and unlimited cabbage and pickles. The rice was barley rice and there was a lot of it, so I had to ask them to reduce it by half. The pork cutlet was okay, but I've had better croquettes from a butcher shop. The shredded cabbage was really tasty, so I had seconds. The pickles were also delicious. If you can eat a lot, you can enjoy the cabbage, pickles, miso soup, and rice with refills. It's a healthy and filling meal. After eating, I felt energized and ready to work hard. On a side note, in the morning, I spent about an hour cleaning my home-grown myoga (Japanese ginger) to give as gifts to the visitors who came on a nice sunny day. They were happy to receive them, despite the effort it took to clean them.

On my way to get shaved ice for dessert, I happened to pass by a place called Katsukatsu Tonton. It had a nice and inviting exterior, so I decided to give it a try even though I was already quite full. I ordered the Katsudon for 1,040 yen and the 80g Tonkatsu for 890 yen. Both came with unlimited refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. The Katsudon had a slightly sweet sauce, while the Tonkatsu had an exceptionally good sauce. The rice refill was enough for me.

In the summer in Kyoto, I suddenly felt like eating tonkatsu and headed to "Katsukatsu Tonton" in Demachiyanagi. The restaurant has recently been renovated, with a bright and clean appearance. They are open from lunch until night, making it very convenient for tourists. I visited on a Sunday evening and was able to enter without waiting. The pleasantly cool interior was just right for my sweaty body from walking around the city! The menu offers a variety of options such as pork loin, pork fillet, chicken, and shrimp, catering to most people's preferences. It seems like a family-friendly place. Unable to decide between pork fillet and pork loin... I ordered the assorted plate. It came with 3 bite-sized pieces of pork fillet and pork loin each, which was just the right amount for when you're in the mood for tonkatsu. The crispy coating and tender meat made it easy to eat. The rice is served in a traditional wooden tub, and the barley rice pairs well with the tonkatsu. They also offer grated yam as a side dish for 300 yen, which I didn't order this time but would like to try next time. The pickles are cucumber, and they serve cold water in a pitcher on the table. The spacious table layout and friendly staff create a pleasant dining experience. While the service is not outstanding, everything comes together nicely, and you can enjoy your meal comfortably. If I'm nearby, I might come back alone for a casual meal due to the good value for money!

When you suddenly crave tonkatsu in Kyoto, head to "Katsukatsu Tonton"! Wait, it's actually Katsukatsu Tonton, not Tonton Katsukatsu (laughs). This place may not be famous, but it offers delicious tonkatsu with a crispy texture, juicy pork, and great value for money. Located a 5-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station, it's easily accessible with many sightseeing spots and restaurants nearby. And the best part? You can enjoy this tasty tonkatsu for around 1000-1500 yen. The service is also very friendly, as they quickly helped me when I forgot my fan on the way out. Oh, I almost forgot! The fact that they serve barley rice with the tonkatsu is also a big plus. Whether you're a local or a tourist suddenly craving tonkatsu, be sure to visit this place! (Although, tourists in Kyoto may not typically think of having tonkatsu, but it's worth a try!)

They bring the rice in a bucket. The basic set meal includes rice, cabbage, and miso soup with free refills. If it's not too crowded, the staff actively recommend refills, which was nice. The tonkatsu was delicious, and the sauce had a unique taste that paired well with the rice.
