It's been a while since I visited. I forgot that the appetizer portion was large and ordered normally. As expected, the portion was large and I was already 80% full just from the appetizers. I also ordered oysters, meat, and tacos, but I ended up getting too full. But it was delicious.

First visit to a trendy restaurant, starting with a toast✨✨ The interior is filled with animals all around, just like a hunter's den. The restroom is stylish, which I think women especially like. This time, we enjoyed a course meal and wine, which were delicious and satisfying. In the latter half, even though I asked for less meat due to being full, I managed to finish everything. It's not easy to find a spice master who can cater to everyone's taste like this. The food was really delicious, thank you for the meal. However, I did feel a bit of coldness in terms of hospitality. I originally wanted to give it a rating in the 4-star range, but I'm sorry. Perhaps the staff was just not feeling well that day, so this is just my personal impression.

Course 6000 yen, red wine from Chile 5000 yen, sparkling wine 700 yen - a total of 21,000 yen for two people, one drink each. I have never seen such a cost-effective restaurant before, and I was extremely satisfied. However, in a few years, I might not be able to eat there due to stomach issues. The Western-style chawanmushi, where consomme soup turns into a sauce, with eel inside, is said to have the soup stolen by a deer. It has a wild taste and is very flavorful. The amberjack goes well with a persimmon sauce. The low-temperature cooked ham from pork comes with a sauce similar to tuna mayo. I especially loved the pate. The Tasmanian mustard and paprika sauce were delicious, but I was surprised by how tasty the juicy sun-dried tomatoes were. When you cut the egg, a rich yolk appears, with a sauce made of sake lees and garlic. And the bread is so delicious! A dish with meat similar to raw hamburger, topped with truffle sauce and crispy burdock, like a bruschetta. It might be my favorite, but everything was delicious, so I can't decide. The Ezo deer was combined with figs, onions, and a red beet sauce, doubling the sweetness and enhancing the deliciousness of the meat. The curry at the end was amazing, with a blend of spices that made it stand out. I would definitely want to go back! The recommended wine, with a strong tannin and barrel aroma, was to my liking.

Date of visit: September 2022, weekday, 7:00 pm Number of people: 3 Amount spent: Approximately 8000 yen Reservation: Yes Bike parking: No (might be able to park in front of the store) Parking lot: No Atmosphere: Good for solo dining, date, 2-4 people, not suitable for large groups or children Seating: About 10 counter seats, several 4-person tables I visited this restaurant with friends that I had been curious about for a while. When I called to make a reservation, I was informed that they only offer set courses at the moment. We made a reservation for the course. The restaurant has a subtle presence that you might miss if you walk past it, but inside, the tables were filled with reserved guests. If you don't opt for the course, there is also a counter where you can enjoy a drink alone. The warm-toned lights inside the restaurant made the white wine we ordered shine beautifully. The food, starting from seasonal figs to rich pork liver pate and meat dishes, was all very delicious. The staff provided detailed explanations of the dishes and even helped us choose wines that paired well with the food. The drinks went down smoothly, and for those who don't want to change their drink with each dish, ordering a bottle might be more cost-effective. We had a great time chatting and enjoying the delicious food. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I would love to visit again when they start offering a la carte options.

Kyoto's gourmet people recommended it, so I was looking forward to it. I tried the 6000 yen course. The flow from gazpacho was common, but the spices were delicious and there were many dishes that went well with wine. In particular, the figs, cheese, ham, eel spring rolls, and wild boar ham were delicious. I want to come back during the game season.

This was my first visit. I had been curious for a while and finally got to go. The atmosphere of the restaurant was like a hidden gem, and it was a perfect match for me. The first dish was delicious, and my expectations kept rising. The variety of meat dishes in various forms was incredibly tasty. I was able to spend a happy time throughout with the wonderful dishes. I will definitely be coming back.

I finally found it, and I was deeply moved! At the Kyoto Osakekudasai meeting, I was taken to a restaurant I didn't know existed, where you can enjoy game meat as well as French cuisine. I later found out that they have a Bib Gourmand, and I fell in love with the place the moment I walked in. The selection of wines is great, but let me tell you about the vegetables - they are delicious and beautifully presented, with amazing sauces. The dish with fresh tomatoes and semi-dried tomatoes mixed together was a stroke of genius! The asparagus dish with the shrimp sauce at the bottom was incredibly flavorful, with a scent and taste of shrimp that I absolutely loved. I can't wait to try their main dishes next time. It was amazing! Total cost was 7000 yen. Reservation is recommended. Location: Kyoto, Higashinotoin-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Tsuboya-cho 533-2. Phone: 075-708-5566. It was a stylish restaurant. When I went, it was still during the pandemic, so only course meals were available. It was fun to see various dishes that I had never seen before. I recommend it for people who like wine. The atmosphere was calm, so I think it's suitable for a date.

This hidden gem of a restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. The place doesn't look like a typical dining spot at first glance. The interior is unique, and the menu mainly features game meat dishes. We started with a delicious appetizer platter, but since we wanted to try a variety of items, we asked for a smaller portion. When I mentioned that I like tongue, the staff recommended a tongue dish and duck as the main course (smoked and salted wild duck). Everything was delicious. The portion sizes are generous, so I'd like to come back with a larger group once the pandemic is over.

The appetizer assortment included duck meat, pork ham, salami, and various other items, each with different textures and flavors which made it interesting. The tender pork ham (possibly cooked in a salt kettle) had a gentle color and was not overly salty, yet full of flavor. The marinated vegetables such as onions, daikon radish, cabbage, cauliflower, and myoga had a curry-like flavor. The colors were beautiful. The rillettes were also delicious. Enjoyed with bread from Kurs, it was a delightful combination. The French fries were thin and crispy, seasoned with spices. As you continue eating, the kick and greasiness become noticeable but you can't stop eating. The main meat dishes priced around 3000-4000 yen were all tempting, but the roast venison with raspberry sauce and whole grain mustard, recommended only for this season, was a perfect match. The lean red meat had no gamey taste, was flavorful, and the abundant fat was very palatable. The Miyazawa pork cutlet had a thick black sauce with a large cutlet on top. The meat was delicious and the sauce, reminiscent of a richly flavored black mapo tofu with garlic and sansho pepper, was very intense so a little went a long way. It seemed like a hit with men. The main meat dishes were around 200g each. Three of us were extremely satisfied and our stomachs were about to burst. It was delicious.

I visited this restaurant for the first time after trying their delicious lamb dish for takeout. I started with the appetizer platter which included prosciutto, pate, rillettes, and other items. For the main course, I was tempted by the lamb but ended up going with the recommended charcoal-grilled magret duck. It was a large portion of about 300g with a beautiful sear and delicious duck flavor. The meat was very satisfying. This made me want to try other meat dishes on the menu. The food is a meat lover's dream, but it's a bit disappointing that the wine selection is not as extensive as I would have liked.

Representing Kyoto game meat, this restaurant is a must-visit! I first visited during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020. I discovered this place while watching TV. For those who enjoy game meat, this restaurant is a gem. Unlike other game meat restaurants such as Gifu, Katamumuri, Shiga, Hirasanso, and Mie, Bambi Hunter offers a variety of meats. If you love duck, spare ribs, and horse sashimi, this is the place for you! Price per person is around 10,000 yen.

A restaurant that specializes in dinner, but also offers curry lunch on Wednesdays except at the end of the month. They serve different types of curry each time, and it's always delicious. Today's lamb keema curry with side vegetables was exceptionally tasty, with a unique aroma that added to the flavor. They only have 20 servings, so it's often a battle to get a taste! I've never been able to try their limited edition Wednesday burgers at the end of the month either! Following them on Instagram makes it easy to know when they are closed for lunch.

I visited HUNTER at Higashidoin Igawa. I had been curious about this place for a while, as someone had highly recommended it. The exterior and interior of the restaurant have a stylish atmosphere. The place is lively. I ordered the prosciutto and cilantro salad, Chairman Mao spice spare ribs, and duck. The prosciutto was moist and delicious. The salad paired well with the rich meat. And most importantly, the meat was amazing. The perfect cooking was achieved by combining the oven, sous-vide cooker, high-powered iron pot, and charcoal fire. The spare ribs were perfectly matched with the unique spice blend they use. The duck was also fantastic in texture and flavor. The fig butter sauté served with the meat was really delicious. The attention to detail in plating and presentation was evident. Despite being full, I couldn't resist trying a bite of the curry at the end, and even that had a rich flavor. The quality of food at this price point is outstanding. I wonder if the prices will increase along with the quality of the meat in the future. I look forward to trying all the meats on the menu and revisiting the spare ribs and duck. I'm happy to have found such a great restaurant.

On the 2nd day of a family trip to Kyoto in August 2019, we visited "HUNTER" at night, which is located about a 5-minute walk from Marutamachi Station. It is classified as a meat bar, but I also heard that it specializes in game dishes. We had made a reservation in advance, and upon giving our name, we were guided to a table at the back of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, with counter seats, 2-person tables, and 4-person tables on both sides. The customers seemed to be relatively young. While there are course meals available, we decided to order a la carte dishes that we wanted to eat that day. After a toast with drinks, we placed our first order. - Assorted appetizers: marinated vegetables + assorted raw ham and salami - Green salad for cilantro lovers - Charcoal-grilled Magret duck - Roasted Australian lamb loin We started with the appetizers that were brought to us. Since the meat dishes seemed to take some time, we ordered something that could be served quickly as an interim. - Country-style pate - HANAKAGO's baguette - French fries with epice seasoning Finally, the meat dishes arrived! The charcoal-grilled Magret duck had crispy skin and juicy & tender meat inside. Two types of sauces were served with it. The roasted lamb loin was thinly sliced and accompanied by herbs. It had the familiar taste of mutton. For dessert, we had: - Chocolate and spice ice cream It had a mysterious flavor with a hint of spice. - Gorgonzola ice cream We enjoyed alcoholic drinks, mainly wine: - Sparkling wine - Red wine from Spain We paid by credit card, signed electronically on a tablet, and completed the payment. Thank you for the meal.

Limited to 20 servings per day, Hunter's Curry was a bit slow to start today. Despite feeling like giving up, when we visited, the chef mentioned that there was one last serving left and even said, "If it's for two people, I would have refused." The combination of chicken coconut curry and lamb vegetable keema was undeniably delicious. No need for further explanation, you just have to try it!

I had chicken cutlet curry. When ordering, they asked if it was okay that the chicken cutlet was large. It was a voluminous chicken cutlet, thick and juicy with a delicious meaty flavor. The person next to me was even more daring, adding beef cutlet as an extra topping.

For first-time visitors to HUNTER, this meat bar offers a variety of delicious meats in a great atmosphere. The best part is being able to enjoy hearty portions of tasty meat. It's recommended to go with about 4 people due to the generous serving sizes. The appetizer platter includes an assortment of ham, salami, and salad, all packed with flavor. The spiced fried young chicken has a curry-like spice that packs a punch, and squeezing lime over it enhances the taste. The Kagawa Sanuki beef cream (shoulder loin) roast with French fries is irresistible, especially when cooked rare and paired with red wine. Lastly, the Hokkaido Shironuka lamb hamburger is juicy and thick, perfect for meat lovers. The wine selection ranges from around 3000 yen to 10000 yen, making it a highly recommended spot. Hunter-san, who hadn't visited for a while, was planning to have the Wednesday limited lunch curry, but today it was a hamburger instead. Surprisingly, it made me happy. With only 20 servings available, the counter was already full when I arrived just before noon. By 12:30, everything was sold out, showing how popular it was. Now, onto the burger itself - it had a patty made from a mix of minced lamb and pork, grilled tomato, cheese, thick-cut crispy potatoes, chickpea and lamb stew, salad, and for an additional 500 yen, Tandoori chicken nuggets. The rich wine vinegar sauce paired perfectly with the patty. The coffee was also top-notch, making it a great value for money. This burger ranks among the best I've had this year, although I am a bit worried about my blood sugar levels... Surprisingly, the result was different than expected.

There is a possibility that if you go at 12:00 for the limited 20 lunch servings on Wednesdays, you may not make it in time. I went a bit earlier and had Hunter's curry for the first time in a while, with quail tempura as a bonus. The chef pays attention to the meat and the curry was delicious. Thank you for the tasty curry.
