ロボコン2000
While walking in the neighborhood, I happened to take a different route and was surprised to discover a ramen shop. It turns out the shop has been open for almost half a year. To get to the shop, you can walk along Kawabata Street from Takano Bridge towards the north, then turn right onto a small road south of the canal (look for a motorcycle shop as a landmark). If you're coming from Higashioji Street, just follow the canal towards Takano River and head south at the corner just before Kawabata Street. The shop suddenly appears in a residential area, and you wouldn't notice it without the flags outside.
Once inside, you'll find a small shop with only 6 counter seats, and a friendly staff member will greet you. The recommended dishes include the burnt garlic soy sauce ramen for 650 yen, salt ramen on weekdays, chicken karaage and kimchi rice set for 800 yen, all-you-can-eat option for 900 yen, and dessert all-you-can-eat for 1000 yen. I was advised to try the soy sauce ramen for my first visit, and I added duck meat as a topping. When asked about the amount of bean sprouts and green onions, I requested a little extra. The clear soup was light and delicious, made from a special chicken broth. Despite usually not liking soy sauce ramen, I found this one to be very good. The noodles, which I was told are actually thinner, were easy to eat. The thick duck meat was also excellent. I finished it all in one go.
The shop is small, so it can get crowded with regular customers at night, but I was able to enjoy my ramen leisurely while chatting with the staff during my daytime visit. For younger customers, I would recommend the 800 yen set. Ramen Tenpo is located at 22-12 Takano Takeyacho, Kyoto, in the Ravonabiru Building 1F. They are open from 12:00 to 23:00, with irregular holidays.
