We stayed in May 2022. We booked a twin room through Jalan, which included free use of a co-working space, Aburatorigami oil blotting paper, mineral water, and tickets to the Kyoto Tower observation deck for 4600 yen for two people. We opted for room-only accommodation, but we could see Kyoto Tower from our room and also used the co-working space. The space offers complimentary orange juice, coffee, tea, and books. If you only use the co-working space, it costs 400 yen per hour. The Wi-Fi is free and fast, and the hotel is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Highly recommended.

This hotel is located a 4-5 minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. I visited on December 23, 2021. I needed to participate in a web conference for about 2 hours while traveling from Nagoya to Nara, so I was looking for a place in Kyoto. I found out that the first floor of this hotel (which seemed to be the breakfast area for guests) called "Regina" can be used as a coworking space during lunch hours, so I decided to check it out. It costs 400 yen per hour to use. They have a variety of coffee and soft drinks available, and during your usage time, you can drink as much as you want. There wasn't anything particularly outstanding in terms of taste, but everything was decent, as expected from a hotel. I had orange juice and coffee while participating in the conference. There weren't too many people using the space, so I was able to focus on the conference. The space is also divided into areas where you can have a web conference with sound and areas where you cannot make noise, which is nice. There also seem to be private rooms available. It was convenient and helpful.

During the first state of emergency, I stayed mostly at home and was too scared to go to the local cafes. By the fourth state of emergency, I was already fed up with the ineffective government, and holding a welcome party for Bach at a beloved reception hall that was "postponed from before" made me snap. Why hold the event as planned if the situation has changed? Anyway, I decided on a trip to Kyoto just four days before. The round-trip Nozomi train ticket for 2 nights without meals cost only 25,600 yen, which was a great deal! Plus, the free luggage service between the station and the hotel was very convenient. The hotel is very close to the station, so it's easy to drop off or pick up your luggage yourself. It's located near a Lawson convenience store and restaurants, and there's a Nippon Rent-A-Car nearby too. The room is compact but has a view of Kyoto Tower from the window. The small fridge was filled with sake and beer I bought at Isetan. Amenities are provided upon request from the lobby. The lack of drink options (only green tea bags and instant coffee) was disappointing. The unit bath in the room had good water pressure and filled up quickly. The Kyoto Tower public bath was closed, which was a shame as I wanted to try it. Overall, I liked the hotel for its convenience and affordability.

The menu was exactly the same as a year ago. The taste was relatively good, but my stomach was tired from eating the same thing every day, so I could hardly eat it. I wanted to take it home. Well, I thought it was a safe lunch this year too. I would be happy if it had a slightly lighter and more Kyoto-like content.

The hotel I stayed at was chosen while looking for a place to stay on my way to Kyoto Aquarium from Kyoto Station. It was affordable and conveniently located, with a supermarket in front and a convenience store a few minutes away. The lobby was small but clean, and amenities were self-service. The room was on the top floor, with a unique attic-like design. It had a bed, a small desk with two chairs, creating a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast restaurant was elegant and the food was delicious, with a sense of homemade quality. The only downside was the staff in the breakfast hall, who seemed unaware and disorganized. Overall, the hotel was charming and I hope it continues to improve its service to match its lovely atmosphere.

This morning's breakfast. This hotel has also been renovated and looks beautiful. The dining area on the 1st floor has a quite stylish feel to it. I went around 7am. It's not too crowded. It might vary depending on the day... It's a buffet style, but there are no trays. So, once you plate your food, you have to take it to your seat each time. I've never been to a place like this before, so I was honestly confused at first. There aren't many options, but it's okay I guess. It's not great or terrible, more like better than business-oriented hotels. It's a bit on the pricey side, after all.

I asked a travel agency to arrange a hotel for my overnight stay before going to Amanohashidate. The first hotel they suggested was a twin room for 60,000 yen (Hotel G, directly connected to Kyoto Station). I thought it was too expensive for just sleeping, so I asked for a cheaper hotel near the station and car rental company. They arranged the Tower Hotel Annex. When I arrived in the evening, I thought it was okay to stay in an old hotel since I would leave for Amanohashidate the next morning by rental car. It's only a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and surprisingly, it's quite stylish. I didn't know it was renovated last spring, so I had mistakenly assumed it was an old hotel. The room, although small, is functional and efficient. They offer a buffet breakfast with both Japanese and Western options. For dinner, I searched on Tabelog and went to a nearby izakaya. There are many restaurants nearby, which is convenient. Overall, I think it's a good value hotel with cleanliness and convenience.

A clean hotel that was renovated in March 2017. It is conveniently located near the station and reasonably priced. Even though it was December after the autumn leaves season, we stayed in a twin room for 7 nights for 70,000 yen. The room is small, but the Wi-Fi is fast, and there are 2 electrical outlets and 2 USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has been renovated and is clean. The shampoo in the room is from DHC. In front of the front desk, there are pillows and plenty of amenities available for use, such as DHC makeup remover, hairbrush, and body towel. In the lounge, there is a flavored water server where you can help yourself.

The first meal on our school trip was here. I didn't have high expectations for student meals, but it was actually quite luxurious and the food was not bad at all. It didn't have a homemade feel, but it was satisfying. I was happy that the rice was cooked in a pot, and although I don't usually eat rice, bread, or noodles, I tried a little and it was delicious. The hamburger steak was also not homemade, I think, but it was tasty.

Kyoto Station is within walking distance, about a 3-4 minute walk, making it very convenient in terms of transportation. However, the hotel looks a bit old from the outside, and the rooms have small unit areas with low ceilings. I am 175cm tall, and my eyes are above the shower curtain rail, making it possible to see outside. The hotel has a slightly dated feel in terms of its facilities. The lobby on the first floor is cramped, and the hotel seems more geared towards business rather than tourism. Normally, breakfast is a buffet, but due to special circumstances, I had set meals for both dinner and breakfast. The meals were simple and basic, similar to a children's lunch upgraded version for dinner. This may be because I requested set meals, so it may not be a reliable review for the food aspect. Overall, if convenience is your priority, this hotel is a good choice. However, if you are looking for comfort, it's better to consider other options carefully.
