I visited a somewhat hard-to-find place near Shukugakuin looking for chiffon cake. Among several options, I bought plain, lemon, and banana flavors. They were all light and fluffy, with distinct flavors. They were easy to eat and delicious!

I was told by my friend in Kyoto that there is a delicious chiffon cake shop nearby called Beehive, so I decided to visit. It's a small shop located in a renovated home. I tried the cake set and it was delicious - fluffy and chewy. They use high quality eggs and oil to carefully make their chiffon cakes. I had the lemon flavor and my husband had the matcha flavor. The lemon was delicious, but the matcha was incredibly tasty. I had plans to meet friends in the evening, so I bought some as a gift and they were very happy with it. I regret not buying some for myself as well. The gift was nicely packed in a box. They also offer cakes in cups for eating on the go!

It is light. Not sweet. Just delicious. Very delicious. It's not just ordinary rice flour that makes it so light. When you come to Kyoto, buy it here and have two or three for breakfast and lunch. It's not suitable for when you want to eat a lot because it's light. It may also not be suitable if you're looking for something sweet as a dessert. It has a very gentle sweetness, which I really love.
