Today, I wandered around the area near Keihan Fushimi Inari Station because my car was parked in the parking lot all day. I had a daily bento box for 850 yen at a quaint old-town Chinese restaurant called Meiyoken. The pork sweet and sour dish and shrimp tempura in the bento box were delicious. Meiyoken is located at 24-3 Fukakusa Harukawamachi, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

I feel like eating Chinese food. I remembered there was a restaurant nearby, so I walked there. I decided to try the daily bento box with various dishes. I also ordered some dumplings. The bento box arrived first, followed by the dumplings. I enjoyed them with a cold beer. Everything was delicious and I ended up feeling very full after finishing everything.

This is the ultimate local Chinese restaurant. It has a cozy vibe that really hits the spot. During lunchtime, it's bustling with regulars and locals. I was curious about the daily lunch special, which comes in a square bento box with various items inside. But I couldn't resist ordering some dumplings. I decided to try two dishes separately. The dumplings were cooked perfectly and came with their own sauce on the table. They had a nice hint of garlic and were delicious. The only downside was that the sauce was a bit weak. Come on sauce, step up your game! Next, I tried the mini char siu bao, which was a nice small size and just the right amount for me. It had a gentle finish and came with a tasty soup on the side. The owners of the restaurant were friendly and welcoming, adding to the charm of this local Chinese gem. I thought there was no parking, but there are actually two spots available just 150 meters west of the restaurant at "Mei Yang Xuan."

A Chinese restaurant located a little off the main road from Shidun Kaido. It's a bit hard to find in a residential area. I ordered the cold noodles for 780 yen. After a short wait, it was served in a bowl. It felt more like cold ramen than cold noodles, but the taste was definitely that of cold noodles. The dish was filled with char siu, bean sprouts, cucumber, lettuce, and the right amount of spicy sauce, creating a good harmony of flavors. The cost performance seems quite good. As a place to eat traditional Japanese-style Chinese cuisine, it seems to be quite convenient and satisfying.

Located north of the Police School on Shidang Street is "Mei Yang Xuan" restaurant. I wanted to visit as it always seems busy, but unfortunately my camera ran out of battery. I could only take 2 photos before entering the shop to order the "daily bento box" for 750 yen. The restaurant had 4 square tables and 2 round tables, with a lively hostess bringing in fresh vegetables for today's dishes while chatting with regular customers. The atmosphere seemed welcoming to locals, salarymen, and middle-aged women who appeared to be regulars. The kitchen was busy with the owner and a man cooking, serving customers. After about 20 minutes, the bento box arrived with a dish resembling "sweet and sour shrimp" and "roast pork" as the main dishes, along with rice and a vegetable salad. The "sweet and sour shrimp" was like sweet and sour pork, with fried shrimp instead of pork in a freshly made crispy batter, coated in a sweet and sour sauce. It was quite hot and had a decent taste. The "roast pork" was served with cucumbers and a salty sauce, which was a bit too strong. The egg soup was likely egg drop soup, but it was overly seasoned and too thick. Overall, the value for money was decent, but the flavors were a bit too intense. Parking might be a bit inconvenient.

Next to the Fushimi Police School in Kyoto, there is a restaurant called Meiyoken. The interior of the restaurant has a few counter seats and four table seats. This place is known for being very affordable and serving generous portions of food. Not to mention, the food is quite delicious as well. The menu is extensive, and the owners, a husband and wife, are very quiet, kind, and welcoming. My family and I always enjoy dining in or getting takeout from this restaurant. Today, we had fried rice, dumplings, kung pao chicken, spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, and everything was delicious and filling. We all left the restaurant with full stomachs. Thank you for the meal.

【Location】If you're going by train, it's near Keihan Fukakusa Station. If you're driving, there's no parking lot so you'll have to park at a nearby coin parking. 【Food, Taste】I had sweet and sour pork for 760 yen and dumplings for 260 yen. The sweet and sour pork had a decent portion size for the price. It contained green peppers, onions, and carrots but no bamboo shoots. The dumplings were a bit soft but tasty. 【Service】You'll have to grab your own wet towel and water. 【Price, Value for Money】Considering the taste and portion size, it's quite affordable. 【Good Points】It's cheap, has good portion sizes, and tastes delicious. 【Bad Points】Self-service for wet towels and water, and the chairs are a bit uncomfortable.

There is a restaurant located a little off the main road in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. It may be a bit hard to find, so taking a train would be better than driving. This restaurant is run by a couple and has a traditional Chinese cuisine feel. I have been going there since I was a child, and their daily lunch specials are very affordable, generous in portion, and delicious. The set includes rice, salad, stir-fry, and fried dishes. The menu changes daily, but I have never been disappointed. The only downside is that since it is run by only two people, during busy lunch hours, it can take some time for the food to be served.
