"When it comes to 'Yakitori Ichiban', it is a chain restaurant that has been around for a long time. I visited here to take shelter from the rain for the first time. Naturally, on a rainy weekday night, there were only a few customers. I sat at the counter and ordered a 'draft beer' and 'takowasa' as a side dish. The draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) was well chilled, perfect after work. The takowasa side dish was a bit small for the price, but for the first time, I ordered a set of five skewers. It was just right for one person. The set included 'negima, tsukune, gizzard, heart, and chicken wings'. The skewers were grilled slowly over charcoal, and being a chain restaurant, the quality was impressive. Delicious! The sauce was just the right taste, with a strong saltiness that was excellent. The quality of the ingredients was good, juicy tsukune, crispy chicken wings... everything was very tasty. Despite being a chain restaurant, I felt that it was a high-quality place that takes grilling seriously. I would like to visit again."

I love birds, so of course I also love yakitori! If you want to enjoy yakitori at a reasonable price, the best option is Ichiban or Daikichi. This time, I visited the Senbonjionai branch of the Ichiban chain. When you enter the store from the Senbon side, you immediately see the counter. The space is quite small due to the narrow entrance from the Senbon side. There are customers sitting at the counter and a kitchen behind them. It feels a bit cramped, but it's a common layout for Ichiban. The yakitori here is cooked well, with a nice char on the outside and juicy inside. The liver is large and the salt crystals on the surface add a nice flavor. The texture of the skin is crispy on the outside and tender inside. The only downside is that it takes a bit long for the yakitori to be ready. Overall, the Senbonjionai branch is a good place to enjoy delicious yakitori, but becoming a regular customer might take some time. The Ichiban chain has unique characteristics at each store, so finding one that suits you is part of the fun of visiting different locations.

Sometimes I come alone and enjoy skewers with a beer in hand (laughs). It's important to have a comfortable space when you come alone. The Tori Kim Cheese is incredibly delicious and I order it every time. The combination of chicken, kimchi, and cheese is wonderful. I also really like the Ume Shiso skewers here and always order them. I sometimes come with friends or juniors, but I find that coming alone and leisurely savoring the skewers is the best for me in this restaurant. Skewers are delicious! Long live chicken meat♪
