We were seated at a terrace along the Kamo River. Instead of table seating, we sat on the floor facing the simple terrace seats, enjoying the view of the river while having drinks. We were served a small cheesecake-like dessert which paired perfectly with the alcohol. It was a lovely location to enjoy the atmosphere.

Hakushu Highball, yes! It's great! The Port Charlotte has a fantastic smoky flavor, delicious! They also recommended Ardbeg, but it was about 1000 yen more expensive so I went with this one. I'll treat myself to it at the end of the year. The Gâteau au Chocolat and cheesecake for appetizers were delicious and paired well with the drinks! The raisin butter was also tasty and the portion size was good! Drinking delicious alcohol and enjoying tasty snacks on the terrace overlooking the Kamogawa River was the best! You can make reservations too, so definitely check it out! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited this place again after 4 years because I had a great experience last time. It's still the same cozy atmosphere, and this time I enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the Kamogawa River while sipping my drink. I sat at the same counter seat as last time, and this time they had paper menus instead of electronic ones. I ordered my usual gin and tonic, but I also tried a Glenfarclas whisky that was recommended to me. It was different from the usual one I drink, with a more elegant finish. It's moments like this that make visiting a bar special. The bartender was wearing a casual Hawaiian shirt, adding to the summer vibe. I heard that the foreign bartender who was here last time has opened his own bar now, which made me happy for him. The next day, I had a tour booked at the Yamazaki Distillery, so I headed back to my hotel early. Another wonderful night in Kyoto. Thank you!

Kyoto - Pontocho (Sanjo) A shop that I have been visiting for a few years now. The terrace with a view of the Kamo River can only be enjoyed on sunny days. The interior seems to be getting more stylish over time. Maybe it's the owner's hobby? LOL. Gin and tonic and sidecar (forgot to take a picture). Before going to the shop, I used the Ape bar. They offer a wide variety of fruit cocktails and provide a wide range of hospitality.

This is a bar located on the stylish street of Pontocho in Kyoto. I entered this bar based on a friend's recommendation. Many of the shops in Pontocho tend to be expensive, but this bar, despite its stylish and expensive-looking appearance, is not that pricey. I had a gin and tonic, which had a refreshing taste and stayed true to the basics. They also offer whiskey tastings, so whiskey lovers should definitely give it a try.

It had been a long time since I last visited, and it had changed a lot. I remember that you used to order on an iPad before. Now it's become a whiskey-centric bar. I appreciated having a menu to look at. The outdoor riverside seating looked nice. The gin and tonic was too sweet for my taste. The basil mojito was interesting. I don't like mint or basil, but I can handle them in cocktails. It was innovative and I liked it. They had an old bottle of Dewar's, with only a drop left, but they let me try it as a service. It had some sweetness, but lacked the richness of the 70s and 80s. I also tried a half-bottle of Saboro Maru, a domestic whiskey bottler. It was also on the sweet side. It felt a bit young, but I liked the longer finish compared to Dewar's. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after lunch. Normally they open from 6 pm, but in January 2020, they were open at 4 pm due to closing early. The interior of the restaurant is very nice! There are sofa seats and counter seats arranged in a spacious manner. When I asked for a cocktail recommendation, I was told that fruit cocktails are recommended. I ordered a cocktail with Japanese pear and champagne. It was my first time trying a cocktail with fresh fruit and delicious champagne, and it was really tasty. There are also cocktails with yuzu, strawberry, and various other fruits, making it hard to choose. It seems like it would be nice to sit on the terrace outside and see the river in the summer. I would like to visit this restaurant again when the weather gets better.

On my way back from a business trip in Osaka, I decided to have a drink in Pontocho before heading home, so I headed straight to Shijo. I found a lovely bar near Sanjo Station with a terrace overlooking the Kamogawa River! The interior was stylish and the bartender was friendly and easy to talk to (there were handsome ones too!). The drinks were delicious! I ordered the following: Asahi Premium Beer Jukusen, Sudachi Sky Ball (which was really tasty!), Shiso Mojito, a cocktail with Japanese pear and sudachi (rum-based), and a cocktail with kiwi and lemon (rum-based). The atmosphere was so comfortable that I ended up staying for almost 5 and a half hours. I left the bar with my colleague feeling very satisfied, but we didn't want to leave! If this bar was nearby, I would definitely go there often!

The atmosphere is fantastic. I visited this bar as a second option based on a friend's recommendation. When it comes to stylish bars in Pontocho, Bar Bacchus is the place to go. (I've only been to one bar in Pontocho so far, haha) It was great to sip cocktails while looking out over the Kamogawa River and enjoying a relaxing time. The interior of the bar is impressive with various liquors displayed, but it also has an open feel along the Kamogawa River, making it a lovely bar. The staff were friendly and kind, even helping me retrieve an item I dropped by the river. Around 1 am, fireflies started to appear, adding a magical touch to the already great atmosphere. I think it's a perfect place for a date. It's not just a regular bar, but a wonderful bar with a touch of Kyoto charm. I would love to visit again.

The alcohol, appetizers, and atmosphere were all great! But the best part was the excellent service! We ordered cocktails with a lot of attention to detail, so it took some time for them to be served, but each one that arrived became a topic of conversation. The appetizers were delicious, but I forgot what I had ordered... Anyway, it was a wonderful bar experience!笑

A bar located along the Kamogawa River near Sanjo Ohashi Bridge. When you walk straight down the passage, you can see the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge through a large window, making it a fantastic location. This bar is sure to be popular with women. The bartenders are also a group of handsome men. They provide a pleasant and relaxed customer service, creating an atmosphere of sophistication. There are plenty of fruits available, and they also make fruit cocktails, so I ordered a pineapple cocktail. I thought it would be sweet, but it was surprisingly dry and very delicious. I will definitely use this place when trying to impress women in Kyoto. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I entered the restaurant on a Thursday around 8:00 PM. There were 3 people on the balcony and 2 people at the counter. The staff, all handsome men in suits or vests, were very friendly. They had a wide variety of fresh fruit cocktails, which I enjoyed. I ordered "Fig Martini," "Peach Bellini," and "Frozen Mojito" in order. All the fruit cocktails were made with fresh fruits.

A choice for a drinking party with friends, for the second round. This bar has outdoor seating facing the Kamo River, with a very stylish atmosphere. Located off the main street, it's a place you can find by following a small alley. The variety of drinks is at a typical bar level.
