I want to relax by the riverside~(*´-`) So I went to Rozan Lake♪ I always thought riverside dining would be expensive...(;ω;) But Rozan Lake is very affordable! I chose the 5500 yen course~! The weather was supposed to be rainy, but luckily it turned out to be nice♪ The food was amazing, I'm so grateful to have been born in Japan... Personally, I loved the Kamo eggplant and yuba gratin(((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) It's hot, so be careful when eating it! The pace of serving the dishes was just right, I was very satisfied!! The staff were attentive and brought out the dishes at the perfect timing~♪ I recommend this place to those who want to enjoy riverside dining at a reasonable price★ I definitely want to come back again♪

Kyoto's riverside dining was a dream come true for me. I really wanted to go, so I planned a trip to Kyoto. My companion was also on board! I was torn between Kamogawa, Kibune, and Takao, but ended up choosing Kamogawa due to reservations. It was the right choice. Despite it being September, during a heat wave, we enjoyed the cool breeze from the river while savoring elegant Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine. I initially thought it might be more for tourists, but each dish was delicious and clearly made with care, providing a satisfying experience. If I have the chance, I would love to try the riverside dining at night as well. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It's quite difficult to choose a riverside dining experience in Kyoto. It becomes even more challenging when you have a decent-sized group. However, at this place called Roko, you can enjoy it for a reasonable price of 7000 yen. It's conveniently located near Nijo, and you can fully enjoy Kyoto while feeling the breeze.

I went to Kyoto for a gathering with my former colleagues. We experienced the summer tradition of "Kamogawa Noryo Yuka" that I often see on TV for the first time. The weather was cloudy, and it started raining halfway through. The shops had a charming atmosphere as we walked through narrow streets. There were many elegant female customers. We ordered a course meal at a table indoors, which included appetizers, chilled chawanmushi, and grilled ayu. We were so engrossed in catching up that I only managed to take a picture of the first dish. The rain stopped, and we were moved to a table outside where we enjoyed a cool breeze. It was a pleasant memory!

When I visited Kyoto, I had been wanting to experience dining by the riverside, so I made a reservation a month in advance. The riverside dining seemed quite popular, so I was finally able to secure a reservation. I arrived slightly before the reserved time of 7:30 PM. There were other restaurants around, but it was relatively quiet and I hesitated before entering, haha. When I mentioned my reservation, I was guided up a narrow staircase to a spacious room on the second floor. There were already several groups of people there. After a short wait, the riverside dining was ready, and I was escorted downstairs to my table. The Kaiseki dinner menu included appetizers, chilled conger eel chawanmushi, assorted sashimi, grilled sweetfish with salt, summer vegetables, simmered pork with potato dumplings, chilled duck soba, rice, Kyoto pickles, and hojicha pudding. The course lasted about 90 minutes, but it was enjoyable. There were quite a few insects attracted to the light bulbs, but they kindly turned off the lights halfway through. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal! 🍽️🎶

If you're going to Kyoto, I recommend trying the delicious riverside lunch at a convenient location I found. It's just a short walk from Exit 12 of Keihan Sanjo Station, and there's a bus stop nearby as well. Reservations are available for two time slots: 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM. You can enjoy the riverside lunch in May, June, and September for ¥2,700. The Kyoto-style dishes in the basket were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I especially enjoyed the chili pepper seasoning. The hot and delicious red miso gratin with fresh wheat gluten and tofu skin was a real treat. The staff were friendly and the riverside lunch was both affordable and delightful. Highly recommended!

In May, we had a dining experience at a riverside terrace. Despite the cool weather, we were shown the indoor seating on the second floor as well. However, we decided to stay at the riverside terrace at night, expecting it to be a bit chilly. Surprisingly, it was not a problem at all (although it may vary depending on the day). We were provided with blankets, but we didn't end up using them until the end of the meal.

Located in a quiet alley, this shop had a serene atmosphere. Arriving around 11:20, I saw a sign saying "Opening at 11:30," so I waited outside. When the time came, I was guided inside. Enjoying lunch and a view of the Kamo River was fantastic. The dishes were lightly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine. The jelly with dashi was amazing! Considering the view and the food, ¥2970 was definitely worth it.

I visited Sunao-san, who is an expert in kimono dressing, after seeing the recommendation. I thought it was in Pontocho, but it is actually beyond Sanjo, so please be aware if you are planning to visit. The food allows you to enjoy a variety of dishes little by little. This summer was long, so even in September, it was very comfortable to sit by the river.

This is my second time in Kansai this year. I am here to support Consadole again, but this time I also visited Kyoto for the first time since my school trip. I was thinking about what to eat when a fellow supporter invited me to experience a riverside dining for the first time in my life. Despite being told by a local taxi driver that "no one goes to riverside dining on such a hot day," I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to visit Kyoto, especially when it's the hottest day of the year. Although I expected it to be expensive at night, I was able to enjoy a meal at a reasonable price. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Starting from May, the riverbed dining was supposed to begin, but due to unfortunate rain, we ended up having our meal indoors. It was a bit chilly, but it couldn't be helped. Still, the atmosphere of the over 120-year-old Kyoto townhouse overlooking the Kamo River was wonderful. We had reserved the riverbed lunch set in advance, which included a variety of Kyoto-style side dishes, as well as a unique dish of raw wheat gluten and yuba gratin. Each dish was delicious and we enjoyed savoring them one by one. The gratin, in particular, was an outstanding creation that deserves recognition!

I'm so happy to finally go on an adult field trip with my friends to a riverside dining experience in Kyoto that we've been talking about since last year. May is recommended for riverside dining because the weather is nice and pleasant! Enjoying Kyoto cuisine while looking at the beautiful scenery is the best!! And the restaurant that my friends found for us allows us to relax and enjoy the riverside dining experience. We ordered a course meal and everything was delicious. From the appetizers to the dessert, the flavors were elegant. I wish we could have stayed longer and had more drinks if it was nighttime (lol). We took a leisurely stroll on the way back. I want to plan another adult field trip again!

In the northern part of Kiyamachi, there is a shop called "Rogo". The entrance is shared with three other shops, making it difficult to find if you don't know the location beforehand. I was taken there by someone else, so I'm not sure about the prices. On this day, we were seated on the second floor due to the rain. The interior had a stylish atmosphere with a counter and lighting. Dining by the riverside would offer a different experience. The appetizer, which highlighted the natural flavors of the vegetables, was light and maintained the texture of the ingredients, setting the stage for an enjoyable meal. The assorted sashimi had a rich sweetness from the fatty cuts. The warm dish with cheese, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms was enveloped in cheese. The rice cooked with red miso and pickles had a gentle flavor that was easy on the stomach. For dessert, we had an original pudding and chocolate cake. It was a leisurely and pleasant dining experience.

On the second night in Kyoto, we returned from Nara and once again dined at a riverside terrace along the Kamo River for the second day in a row. This time, we visited a place called Roko located at the end of a narrow alley called Koyamachi Oshikoji-dori Higashioku. The atmosphere was like a movie set with old Japanese houses. We had premium malt beer and a course meal starting with appetizers. The terrace seating outside was a bit dark, making it difficult to take photos of the food. However, sitting back and relaxing while feeling the breeze outside, time seemed to pass slowly. Perhaps it was due to fatigue from sightseeing at temples and shrines (laughs). The steamed minced mountain pepper rice was delicious. I definitely need to buy some minced mountain pepper as a souvenir before leaving. But really, dining at a riverside terrace two days in a row was truly enjoyable. It was a fulfilling experience in many ways (laughs). Having a party or gathering at a riverside terrace adds a sense of novelty and seems like a great idea.
