When Fushimi Sake Brewery Alley first opened, I thought it looked interesting so I decided to check it out. However, there were so many people and I couldn't figure out how the shops were organized, so I ended up entering from the east and exiting from the west. The staff were friendly but seemed busy, so I couldn't ask for help. This time, I had the opportunity to visit through GoToEat and I went to "Sakadokoro Kyomachi Chaya" which I was able to make a reservation for through Tabelog. They offer lunch sets, so even though my husband couldn't drink, I thought it would be fine since it was lunch time. When we arrived, we found out that the lunch sets are only available on weekdays. My husband looked disappointed, but I decided to shift to day drinking, which actually made me happy (laughs). We had a good experience as the food was delicious and to my liking, despite my initial expectations. We had beer and plum wine, while my husband had water. We enjoyed oden (daikon radish, thick fried tofu, beef tendon), kushikatsu (beef, mozzarella cheese, oyster, pumpkin), beef tendon, oyster, and kama-meshi (oyster rice). The kushikatsu was generously sized with a light and crispy batter, and the oden had a good flavor although the daikon radish was slightly undercooked. The beef tendon was well-cooked and made a great accompaniment to the alcohol. The oyster kama-meshi was also delicious. We had a slight misunderstanding about how to order, but overall, it was a good lunch experience. The total bill was 3,110 yen, but we used 1,000 points to bring it down to 2,110 yen. We paid a total of 2,321 yen after adding the consumption tax. Thank you for the meal. To summarize, Kyomachi Chaya is located at the entrance of Naya-machi Street and is open from 11:30 am. Lunch sets are only available on weekdays (Monday to Friday). You can order from the restaurant's menu or from a delivery menu (pamphlet) from other establishments. They accept GoToEat (Tabelog), premium meal vouchers, and regional travel vouchers (can be used together). As for Fushimi Sake Brewery Alley, there are 9 shops inside the alley. You can choose what you want to eat and then go to the table or counter of the chosen shop. You can also order from the delivery menu without worry, so feel free to enter any available shop. Please check their website for more information, but they accept premium meal vouchers and regional travel vouchers. As an older lady, I initially had trouble understanding the system, but after visiting, I now understand it and plan to use it wisely for meals when I visit the area.
