I went as soon as they opened, but there were already people lining up, so I could tell it was very popular. The restaurant had two counter seats separated. I had tempura fried right in front of me, with plenty of summer vegetables. It was delicious. They recommended some condiments, which made the experience enjoyable.

A high-end tempura chain restaurant. It seems to have locations all over the country, and you can enjoy quality tempura here. No matter what you order, you can expect delicious tempura to be served. When you want to eat tempura, you won't be disappointed if you come here. At the end of the course, you can choose between tempura rice bowl, tempura tea rice, or tempura with rice, and I think the tempura rice bowl is the most delicious option.

It was my first visit to Tenichi on the 11th floor of JR Isetan at Kyoto Station. I had always wanted to go there and was curious about it, so I finally got the chance today. I ordered the "Tenichi Standard" course, which costs 7480 yen per person (excluding drinks). The course includes 9 pieces of tempura, a small side dish, a palate cleanser, rice, red miso soup, pickles, and fruit. I only took a photo of the 9 pieces of tempura. There were many foreign Korean customers, and the restaurant has two spacious counters where you can see the tempura being fried from anywhere. They fry the tempura at a pace that matches your eating speed, so you can enjoy your meal leisurely. I would like to visit again for lunch. The food was very delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I had a lunch course. The first dish was spinach and shimeji mushrooms with white miso dressing topped with persimmon. It started with tempura made from shrimp legs, shrimp dumplings with shiitake mushrooms, sawara fish, ginkgo nuts, hamo fish, maitake mushrooms, oysters, chestnuts, anago eel, tempura rice bowl, red miso soup, pickles, and dessert was papaya. I am used to tempura with white batter, so the golden brown fluffy tempura was unusual for me. The sesame oil flavor was rich, and the tempura dipping sauce was strong in Edo style. Everything was delicious, but the standout dishes were the hamo fish, oysters, and chestnuts. The hamo was fluffy, the oysters were juicy and creamy, and the chestnuts had a sweet dessert-like flavor. I finished off with the tempura rice bowl. The delicious tempura went well with beer, champagne, and sake. The shrimp was peeled just before frying to maintain freshness. It was my first time seeing shrimp being peeled in front of me, and I could sense the attention to detail. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal! ( ^人^ )

JR Kyoto Isetan's Tenichi in B2. There is a counter where you can eat in, and I have enjoyed their food before. This time, I got a takeaway lunch tempura bowl for 648 yen. It was delicious, but as time passed, the oil became a bit overwhelming. As I get older, oily food might not agree with me as much.

The restaurant was a good place to enjoy delicious tempura before catching the Shinkansen. I added courses of kiss fish, conger eel, asparagus, and small ayu, and finished with a tempura rice bowl. The only recommended sake was a Kyoto local sake for highballs. The staff seemed like all newcomers, which was quite endearing, but the tempura dipping sauce was also delicious, so no issues there. It seemed like a place with many regular customers.

They provide freshly fried dishes one by one at the counter. It's a luxurious experience to eat freshly fried food, with plenty of vegetables and seafood, very delicious. What's great is that you can have unlimited grated daikon in the tempura dipping sauce. Even rich fried foods are easy to eat with the refreshing grated daikon. Since learning how to put plenty of grated daikon in the tempura dipping sauce here, I've been imitating it at home too. Thank you for the delicious meal.

During lunchtime at the eat-in corner of Tenichi in the depachika of Isetan at Kyoto Station, I ordered the spring vegetable and shrimp tempura rice bowl. The dish included three types of vegetables and two shrimp, with a light sauce and delicious pickles on the side. There was no miso soup included, but I was satisfied with just the tea.

The restaurant was bustling during lunchtime. The food was delicious, but I was a little concerned about the color of the oil they were frying in. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Other tempura restaurants that fry in clean oil make me feel more comfortable eating their food. Despite this, I enjoyed a course meal for lunch. The sea urchin and seaweed roll was the most delicious. I plan to try dining there at night next time.

Visited for lunch on the weekend. Around 1:30 pm, there were 3 groups waiting. It was relatively empty compared to other restaurants in the Isetan food court. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were seated. I ordered a set lunch for around 2500 yen, which included freshly fried tempura right in front of the counter. It was such a joy to eat the crispy tempura while it was still hot. For the final dish, you can choose between a simple tempura and rice, or add on a tempura rice bowl or tempura tea rice. I chose the tempura rice bowl! The photos may not be very clear, but everything was crispy and delicious, so it felt like good value for the price. I recommend this place if you want to treat yourself to a slightly nicer lunch.

After missing out on lunchtime in Kyoto for a long time, I finally had a leisurely lunch at the counter at Tenichi, enjoying their seasonal lunch course. While shopping at Kyoto Station, I suddenly felt like eating tempura... but going all the way to Shijo is a hassle. So, I decided to go to the restaurant floor called Tenichi on top of Isetan. They have quite a variety of delicious dishes there. The tempura here is really tasty. This was my first time dining at the Kyoto location. It seems like they use Kyoto vegetables in their dishes. [Food] We arrived around 3 o'clock and they were still serving lunch menus. We ordered the seasonal tempura lunch set "Shiki no Tempura". After trying out all the tempura, we chose to have ochazuke at the end. The kakiage tempura was irresistible. It was crispy and the shrimp was juicy. I want to go back just to have it again. I enjoyed all the tempura, especially the asparagus which was a surprising favorite for me. But of course, the classic shrimp tempura was the best. [Ambience] They maintain a traditional Japanese atmosphere while also incorporating a stylish feel. We sat at a table, but I recommend sitting at the counter where you can watch the tempura being fried. [Staff & Service] The staff was efficient and polite. They promptly refilled our tea and quickly prepared our dishes. We actually missed lunch and were very hungry, so we ate quickly. The staff noticed and served us promptly. They must have thought we eat fast... haha. [Solo Dining] (Chicken rating for those who are concerned about dining alone) ★★⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎ It depends on the time. If you go outside of lunch hours when it's less crowded, dining alone should be fine! But if it's crowded... I might not go in. It was really delicious and the service was attentive. I thought it was worth paying this price for such a meal and service. If I can have such delicious tempura at Isetan, I definitely want to come back.

I went to the tempura restaurant "Tenichi" at Isetan in Kyoto. I was craving tempura in Kyoto and was looking around, but I didn't feel like moving around so I went to Isetan at Kyoto Station. It's easy to use because it's in the restaurant area. I chose a course that cost just under 5,000 yen, and about 7 tempura dishes came out, so I was full. It was just right for me, who can't eat a lot. The tempura was delicious, especially the last kakiage. They also offer it in a bowl, so I think it would be delicious in a bowl too.

Tempura restaurant in Isetan Shinjuku. It was relatively crowded, but we were able to enter without waiting too long. We had lunch sets, including rice bowls, with my friends. We sat at a table, and the freshly fried vegetables were very juicy with salt being the best seasoning. Next time, I would like to enjoy it at the counter. If you are in the area, be sure to give it a try!

During a trip to Kansai, I visited the Isetan department store at Kyoto Station. I went to the tempura specialty shop on the 11th floor. The restaurant had a luxurious atmosphere, and the female staff were dressed in traditional Japanese clothing. Despite it being lunchtime, the restaurant wasn't too crowded. I sat at the counter and ordered the Ebi-Tendon (tempura rice bowl with shrimp) for 2,750 yen including tax. I watched as the tempura was freshly fried in front of me. The tempura had a nice color and I could hear the sound of it frying. While enjoying the tempura, I checked my schedule for the trip. The Ebi-Tendon came with three shrimp tempura, as well as tempura made with mushrooms and white fish, all piled on top of the rice bowl. It was a generous portion. With each bite, I could taste the carefully selected ingredients and the skillful cooking that brought out the unique flavors of each ingredient. The taste was truly delightful. The service was also top-notch. It's definitely a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

After work, I went to Tenichi. Here, freshly fried tempura is the best. I ordered the seasonal course. It was nice to see the chef who has been frying since my son was young! I also received a beautiful Mukago as an extra, and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal ♡

I had been craving tempura for a while, so I came here. I arrived early and was seated right away, but it quickly became full. It's amazing, even on a weekday. Now, the meal started with a white miso salad, followed by a variety of tempura dishes: shrimp, shiitake mushroom stuffed with shrimp paste, kisu fish, king oyster mushroom, squid, Kyoto eggplant, uni seaweed roll, lotus root, scallop, maitake mushroom, megochi fish, bamboo shoot, conger eel, mixed vegetable tempura, and a choice of rice bowl or tempura rice bowl for the main course. The meal ended with a yuzu sherbet. As I get older, I prefer my tempura with just salt, as it allows me to taste the flavors and sweetness better. I especially enjoyed the Kyoto eggplant, which was hot and juicy, and the lotus root with its great texture and sweetness. The conger eel was also excellent when freshly fried. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

I arrived at Kyoto Station for an early lunch at Wakuden, but their limited lunch sets were already sold out even though it was a weekday. I decided to have tempura instead, which is always popular here. I ordered the seasonal tempura course, where they fry each item right in front of you and serve it fresh. The best item was the large bamboo shoot! It was so delicious. I also ordered some ginkgo nuts, which were also big and tasty. The rice was so good that I ended up finishing every last grain. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I would rate this restaurant as follows: Food 4.3 | Service 4.0 | Atmosphere 4.1 | Value for money 4.0 | Drinks 4.2. I sometimes use Tenichi when meeting up with friends. It seems that this place is not very popular among Japanese tourists. It's interesting to have authentic Edomae tempura in Kyoto. We find it convenient to use. Today, we had the veteran chef T serving us. He fried the tempura with a smile but in a focused manner. We ordered the minimum course in Ginza style, and added a few more dishes. We also ordered a bottle of white wine. Everything was fried perfectly and tasted delicious. We added some small sweetfish, asparagus, and one fried oyster to share. For dessert, I had green tea and my friend had rice with red miso soup. The pickles here are also very tasty. I would love to come back and try more interesting dishes next time.
