When you enter the restaurant and take a seat, before long, the "Ashioto's Lunch" is served on a wooden board that looks like a cutting board. There is only one lunch option at this restaurant. Today's Ashioto's Lunch includes tempura with shrimp and chicken inside a chili pepper, fried in a sake cup, chicken wings, white miso soup with daikon, broccoli and sakura shrimp salad, pork shabu-shabu, sweet potato cream cheese, yam kimchi, amberjack with minced daikon, simmered eggplant, celery salad, orange salmon ikura potato sushi, persimmon with white sesame dressing, pickled mackerel with dried bread, salad of mandarin oranges from Wakayama prefecture and mandarin jelly, mackerel, umeboshi and kujo negi clay pot rice. When you have eaten about half of the rice, they will make it into ochazuke for you. The dashi for this was really heartwarming. The dashi was very delicious. The leftover clay pot rice was wrapped up in foil with a handle, a cute idea! Such thoughtful consideration even in this detail. The variety of dishes allowed me to get plenty of vegetables and I felt pleasantly full. Each dish was made with great care and was very delicious. The staff's attention to detail was wonderful. They receive phone calls for reservations non-stop, but when a staff member answered a call saying, "We are fully booked for tonight's reservations," another staff member would say, "I'm sorry." If you have any questions about the food or need help, please feel free to ask, they kindly mentioned. I thought the food was so delicious because it was made with a kind heart. Located in Sakai-machi Ayakoji, east of Ayanokoji Street. Casual atmosphere, clean and neat. Part of the Gokka group. Lunch is around 2,200 yen (including tax). I prefer it over Isorhythm in Nijojokkaramaru because there is more meat and fish that I like. You can enjoy various flavors. Delicious! I want to eat there again.

I made a reservation for 11:45 (opening time) on a regular day and visited the restaurant. The lunch menu consisted of a plate and a hot pot rice, with the content changing with each season. Since I visited in the spring last time, I was excited to see a completely different menu this time. The staff explained that the meal would start for all 5 groups at once (because there are 5 hot pot stoves). They recommended starting with the udon. The ice broth was refreshing and perfect for a hot day. Each small dish had its own unique touch, making it hard to decide where to start. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was the Kanpachi and eggplant simmered in broth from Nagasaki. It was an unexpected combination, but the softness of the broth enveloped the Kanpachi and eggplant beautifully. The tempura had a crispy texture similar to fritters, and the sweet combination of bell peppers and shrimp was exquisite. The Caesar salad had a dressing that was so delicious, I wanted to buy it. Finally, the hot pot rice! Corn rice with butter on top... so good. They also provided fried onions and tea broth for flavor variations along the way, making the meal enjoyable until the end. The sours were made with seasonal fruits, allowing you to enjoy the freshest ingredients every time you visit. This time, I ordered the yuzu sour! They also have non-alcoholic options, making it enjoyable for those who don't like alcohol. I will visit again in the autumn or winter. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Everything was delicious! There were plenty of vegetables, and the fruit shochu highball was tasty! They even made it for three people, which was thoughtful. The staff was polite, energetic, and wonderful. The mixed rice dish was incredibly delicious! I left feeling very full.

I made a reservation for 5:30 pm. The restaurant was almost full and many customers were there. The service from the staff was excellent. When I mentioned that one person in our group would be late, they adjusted the speed of service, chilled or reheated the dish, and served it on a new plate. The taste of all the dishes was delicious, and I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Finally made it to this restaurant. After visiting, my overall impression is that I definitely want to come back. Initially, I thought it might be a place where tourists come for Instagram-worthy photos, but after trying the food, I found that the dishes were meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. The dishes featured seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and were prepared with care. While many restaurants in Kyoto offer small dishes with a lack of complexity, this restaurant stood out. The recommended dish was udon with a broth sorbet on top, providing a refreshing and unique summer eating experience. The Caesar salad included whole peeled tomatoes from Kyo-Myama and nuts for a delightful texture. The simmered eggplant sashimi was served on top of a dish, offering a new and delicious way to enjoy it. Another dish featured raw bell peppers and eggplant with a miso sauce, providing a sweet and tasty combination. Serving ingredients in their natural state showcases the restaurant's confidence in their sourcing and management, and the flavors were indeed impressive. Visited based on a friend's recommendation. The food and interior were really stylish, and the majority of customers were women. From creative dishes to drinks, it's a place that all girls would love! The menu changes frequently, so I definitely want to visit again when I'm in Kyoto. Sweet potato ice cream is the best!! I have visited my favorite shop several times. The menu changes with the seasons, so you can enjoy the best of each season and have a great time every time you visit the shop!! The sweet potato ice cream I had this time tasted almost like eating a sweet potato, it was so delicious that the aftertaste lasted until the next day (lol)

I went to this restaurant recommended by a junior colleague. Reservation by phone is necessary. The staff explained the dishes in detail and served the rice for us, they were very kind. The clay pot rice can be made into onigiri if there are leftovers, but we finished it all. The vegetables on the plate were all elaborately prepared and very delicious, especially the tempura. The portion size was moderate, but overall satisfaction was high.

Thank you for viewing. For lunch during cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto, I came to Ashioto. The lunch costs 2200 yen and reservations are required. The interior of the restaurant is stylish. They offer more than 10 kinds of vegetable-based obanzai dishes. You can enjoy cooked rice as well. They use locally produced vegetables such as Kujo green onions, and the combination with yuzu miso is delightful. There are always new discoveries with each bite. The menu seems to be appealing to women. The cooked rice features new onions and spring cabbage. It makes you reconsider that delicious dishes are not only made with expensive ingredients. It feels like you are tasting the season. Many dishes have a gentle flavor, so you may feel a bit lacking in punch, but I think it's a good restaurant. Everyone, please give it a try.

There was a shop in a back alley a short walk from Shijo Station, where even solo diners could easily enter. The shop operated in four sessions, with the first one starting at 11:15. Plates were served all at once, and the timing for making dashi chazuke was different for each table. The drink menu was mainly alcohol, but some could be made non-alcoholic, so I opted for a light carbonated drink made with golden kumquat, which was a mix of yuzu and kumquat. The lunch plate cost 2200 yen, and the golden kumquat sour was 700 yen. Despite overeating the day before, the dishes were healthy and small enough for me to finish even the rice cooked in a clay pot. I particularly enjoyed the crispy Megumi rice dish. I also liked the simple yet flavorful dish of chives, tuna, and egg, as well as the yuzu miso with Kujyo green onions. The citrus jelly salad had too much and was a bit rough for leafy greens, and the soup was a bit salty, so I ate it to refresh my palate.

Visited the restaurant "Vegetable Izakaya Ashioto" run by a manager from the Gokake family in Kyoto, who is making a name for himself. This was my second visit, recommended by a follower. As soon as you enter, you can tell that the main focus of this place is vegetables! I ordered 5 dishes, but the standout was the simmered natural bream and eggplant. While the bream may seem like the star, personally, I think the eggplant steals the show! The eggplant, soaked in the flavors of the bream and broth, is a must-try. Don't miss out on the dumplings with plenty of onions either. I love it. If you want to enjoy fresh vegetables at their best, this is the place to go! The staff recommended going to the second place, but unfortunately, the Rokkaku Ace was closed on that day...笑

Popular lunch spot in Kyoto Karasuma! A restaurant run by a chef from the Asio and Gojyuka group. Lunch is by reservation only. *Reservations can be made through TableCheck. The lunch here is popular and consists of one option only. The menu changes depending on the season. Various dishes made with homegrown vegetables are lined up on wooden boards. The salad, first of all, is a mandarin orange jelly salad. Their specialty is the Ebi Manganji, a deep-fried dish! On the right side, there are 9 dishes made with vegetables including pickled Chinese cabbage with pork shabu-shabu, daikon pickles with persimmon, okara with sweetfish, Kujo green onions with yuzu miso, eggplant soaked in bonito broth, spinach with yuba mashed potatoes, smoked salmon with persimmon, white sesame broccoli, and sakura shrimp white sesame. All of them were delicious. Despite this already luxurious menu, a clay pot rice dish is also served, with grilled mackerel and Kujo green onions and Kishu Nanko Ume plum rice on this day. Enjoy it as is first! For the second serving, have it as ochazuke. Once again, I was very satisfied. There are many young staff members, but they are well-trained and provide good service!

I used this restaurant for dinner during my trip to Kyoto. As the name suggests, it's a vegetable bar, and there were lots of vegetable decorations at the entrance! Everything I tried was delicious! The rice, drinks, everything was made with high-quality ingredients. The cups and presentation of the drinks were stylish and fun to look at! I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Reservation is required, and you can only enter the restaurant at the reserved time. It seems best to visit right before lunchtime. There are no chairs in front of the restaurant, so we made a reservation for 8 people. It seems like they can accommodate a few more people. We were able to make a reservation even on a Saturday at the beginning of December (only available starting at 1:30 pm). If you can't finish the hot pot rice, they will make rice balls for you to take home. You can also drink alcohol during lunchtime!

In a quiet alley off Sakaimachi Dori, near Ayanokoji Dori, there is a cozy little bar where you can enjoy vegetable-focused dishes. I love the atmosphere of this place, which seems to be a renovated old folk house. The menu offers a variety of dishes using seasonal ingredients sourced from all over Japan. I started with a refreshing lemon sour from Kumamoto, which was perfect for starting off the meal. The fresh and crunchy Fushimi daikon served as an appetizer was delicious with miso dip. For the main dishes, I tried the recommended dishes such as the fatty Amberjack and eggplant simmered in broth, and the avocado and salmon roe tartare in a crispy shell. The grilled king oyster mushrooms with grated radish and ponzu sauce were simple yet tasty. I also enjoyed the dessert of persimmon and mascarpone cream on crackers, which was a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. The oyster and broccoli ajillo, served with plenty of garlic, was a delightful dish to accompany the drinks. The tempura of cod milt with seaweed sauce was also a highlight, with its crispy texture and flavorful sauce. Although I didn't try it this time, the burdock, ginger, and fried conger eel rice in a clay pot is also highly recommended for a hearty meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

It was so delicious and made me happy! Every dish was tasty, including the tempura and salad. The soup with white miso and root vegetables had a gentle flavor that was very comforting. The tempura included a dish with shrimp and minced meat inside a shishito pepper, as well as chicken wings tempura with a mild chili that I could actually enjoy, even though I usually don't like spicy food. The mixed rice had mackerel, Kujo green onions, and pickled plum. Eating it with the broth made it even more delicious, and the broth itself was so tasty that I ended up drinking three bowls of it (laughs). My favorite combinations were yellowtail with eggplant simmered in sauce, Kujo green onions with yuzu miso, and spinach with tofu skin.

I made a reservation two days ago and just managed to get a reservation. The most impressive dish was the eggplant appetizer. It was a fruit eggplant, I think? It was my first time eating raw eggplant, and it was juicy, without any bitterness or unpleasant taste, and delicious. I mainly ate dishes recommended with a star mark, and I think everything I ordered was a hit. I wanted to eat more, but my stomach was full. Also, as mentioned in reviews, the staff's customer service was amazing. Overall, it was a restaurant where I could feel happy after visiting.
