On the day of exploring Arashiyama, I finished lunch and felt like having tea. I had some time before my next appointment, so I was looking for a place where I could relax and have tea. I found a cute building with a few steps in front of the entrance, and there was a sign that said it was a pension. During the day, it can be used as a restaurant even by non-guests. The interior was the "calm space where time flows peacefully" that I was looking for. Other than myself, there were two elderly women enjoying pasta for lunch. I was there for tea, so I ordered a cake set. It came with two types of chiffon cake (plain and chocolate), mango pudding, and ice cream on one plate. Simple and delicious! The drink I chose, ginger ale, was served in a ceramic tumbler. I spent about 30 minutes leisurely having tea while watching the constant flow of tourists outside. It was a place where adults could forget about time and relax.
