During a business trip to Kyoto, I stayed at Kyoto Tower Hotel. Unfortunately, the public bath was closed last year so I couldn't use it. The hotel itself was simple but I received a coupon for a discounted price to climb Kyoto Tower for only 300 yen. Breakfast at the restaurant on the 3rd floor was delicious, with a view of Kyoto Station.

When I arrived at Kyoto Station, I stayed at a hotel with the Kyoto Tower in front of the bus terminal. The hotel had various dining options in the basement, souvenir shops and a Japanese cafe on the first floor. The front desk was on the 8th floor, and guests could enjoy discounts on Kyoto Tower observation tickets and the use of the public bath as part of their stay. The room felt a bit dated, with a high step into the bathroom area. While there was no complimentary mineral water, there were tea bags and a coffee machine available. The hotel's convenient location, with multiple commercial facilities in the same building, made it easy to access shops and restaurants throughout the day. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I even visited the Kyoto Tower observation deck for the first time, enjoying the panoramic view of Kyoto city.

We used a banquet hall for a school-related year-end party in December 2019. The menu consisted mainly of Western dishes with some Japanese dishes mixed in. It was the typical style where dishes are served on large platters for sharing, similar to a hotel alumni party plan. The taste and menu were quite ordinary, not what you would expect from a hotel banquet. The high price may be due to the request of higher-ups, as geisha and maiko were invited. Therefore, it's unclear how much was spent on the course, making the evaluation uncertain. The traditional Japanese cuisine was delicious, but overall, it was just average. It was disappointing that there was no hotel feel to the food. The banquet hall, free-flowing drinks, and service were impressive, typical of a hotel.

The matcha buffet is very popular, but this strawberry buffet had fewer people compared to other strawberry buffets, so we were able to take lots of photos and had a great time. They not only had desserts, but also dishes made with strawberries, including a delicious French strawberry dish made right in front of us. They had three different types of strawberries for us to compare and enjoy.

The items at the buffet are creatively presented, but I felt that there were not enough choices for the price. However, the desserts were excellent, so I gave them extra points, and overall satisfaction was decent. Since it's a time-limited buffet, you need to consider the timing and pace yourself, or you might not have room for more food! Enjoy!

The monthly CEO meeting was held as usual. The delicious food made the discussions smooth! The steak was especially tasty! We toasted with champagne, which is a must! I thought maybe in Kyoto we should have had sake, but no problem! (laughs)

I attended the Kyoto Gion Matsuri Gozan no Okuribi event on August 16, 2017, which included a dinner. I made a reservation back in February to welcome guests from Sweden. The event quickly sold out in the spring. The event was held at a hotel in Kyoto city where you could view the Gozan no Okuribi. The tickets were sent to my home after booking online. The event started with a reception and a lecture on the history of the Gozan no Okuribi. The dinner was a traditional Japanese kaiseki meal, with high-quality and delicious dishes. I particularly enjoyed the cold corn and consommé soup. The guests from Sweden enjoyed the Wagyu fillet steak. There were ice sculptures and performances by Geisha dancers during the dinner. After the meal, we moved to the observation deck to view the Gozan no Okuribi. The view of the five mountains was beautiful, despite the Big Daimonji being slightly obscured. The next morning, we enjoyed a luxurious breakfast buffet at the hotel. Overall, the experience was worth the high price, and I would love to stay at the hotel again in the future.

My friend wanted to go to a dessert buffet in Kyoto that has a Kyoto-like atmosphere after seeing it on TV. We decided to go there after visiting the Kyoto Aquarium. Since it was a buffet, we skipped lunch and went a bit late, so I was looking forward to the light meal they had. Despite being called a light meal, the menu was quite substantial and the light meal was delicious. The pasta sauce was particularly tasty. Buffets are nice once in a while, but I definitely overate.

Kyoto Tower Hotel "Restaurant Tower Terrace" in Kyoto's Shimogyo Ward is currently hosting a limited-time "Sweets Buffet" featuring organic vegetables. The buffet runs from May 2nd to June 28th, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays only. I had the opportunity to visit on the first day, May 2nd, and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of sweets and other dishes available. The buffet includes a salad bar with organic vegetables, homemade bread (including DIY sandwiches), popular pasta like the "Green Tea Peperoncino," and delicious "Creamy Soy Milk Curry." The lineup goes beyond typical light snacks and offers a satisfying selection for both adults and children. The buffet aims to bring out smiles with its Kyoto-inspired tea sweets and other treats. Located just a 2-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, the restaurant has been a hit among locals and tourists alike since its opening. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enjoy the "Sweets Buffet" at Kyoto Tower Hotel's "Restaurant Tower Terrace" during the limited period from May 2nd to June 28th.

I used this hotel for a reunion of my university research lab that took place in Kyoto. The hotel is conveniently located right in front of Kyoto Station, making it convenient for people traveling by Shinkansen. Since I decided to make a trip to Kyoto as well, I stayed in Arashiyama, but was able to easily access this hotel directly from the Shinkansen. The venue was a banquet hall in a regular hotel. The food was served individually, starting with a Japanese-style appetizer, sashimi, soup, followed by 3 pieces of sushi, meat, chawanmushi, green tea soba, and dessert. Overall, the food was decent. This hotel is convenient in terms of transportation, so I think it's a decent option to consider.

I used the hotel located under the landmark of Kyoto, "Kyoto Tower," for a seminar lunch. The tower and the hotel seemed quite worn out after half a century since their construction, but the recent renovation has transformed the facility into something completely different. The "lunch large plate menu" for 1,900 yen includes "oven-baked chicken," "shrimp and vegetable aurora sauce," "bone-in frankfurter," "mini American dog," "egg Danish sandwich," "meatballs," "vegetable salad," "curry rice (refills allowed)," "Japanese-style spaghetti," "French fries," and "orange juice." There is nothing particularly notable, but everything is beautifully presented and the flavors are decent. The excellent location right in front of Kyoto Station makes it very convenient to use.

I stayed at this hotel when I traveled to Kyoto. It was cheap and good. It was convenient as it was close to the station. Since it was a hotel, the black tea was delicious.

I attended a party held at Kyoto Tower Hotel in Kyoto this autumn. Kyoto Tower, a landmark towering in front of Kyoto Station Karasuma Central Exit, is operated by the Keihan Group. The Kyoto Tower Building houses the commercial facility "KYOTO TOWER SANDO" on B1F-2F. The rest of the floors above, including 3F, are occupied by Kyoto Tower Hotel's restaurant and hotel. The event took place at "Hakkaku" on the 9th floor. Here are some of the dishes served at the party: - Smoked Salmon Dragon Roll - Carpaccio (Chinese style) - Bruschetta with Parma Ham - Corned Beef with Mustard Sauce - Pan-seared Sawara with Balsamic Sauce and Anglaise Potatoes - Beef Sirloin Steak with Mushroom Sauce and French Fries - Roast Pork with Pineapple - Warm Vegetables (Pumpkin and Eringi Tempura) - Dim Sum (Meat Bun and Sticky Rice) - Spaghetti Napolitan - Fruits (Melon and Orange) - Coffee The shape of Kyoto Tower is said to be inspired by a lighthouse illuminating the city of Kyoto, which is not by the sea. It also resembles a candlestick and candles. Unfortunately, the coffee portion was small and when the coffee pot ran out, it was not refilled.
