I went with a friend to have some okonomiyaki and drinks while enjoying a lively atmosphere. After researching, we decided to go to this place in Pontocho that seemed to have a nice ambiance. Since there was no reservation system, we went directly to the restaurant. We arrived at 6:00 PM, thinking that it was still early and we would be able to get a table easily. However, the restaurant was full, with a wait of 2 groups ahead of us, so we ended up waiting for about 30 minutes. The turnover seemed fast at this time, but by 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM, as people started drinking, the pace slowed down. Even while waiting in line, the smell of the sauce tempted those who had not yet decided on a restaurant to check out the menu or join the line. The menu ranged from okonomiyaki to negiyaki and other side dishes. The teppan grill was on the table, but instead of cooking it ourselves, the staff brought the cooked food to us, and we could add our own sauce and enjoy. The restaurant had a clean exterior, but inside, it had a lively and welcoming atmosphere that made you forget you were in Pontocho, in a good way. Eating okonomiyaki while pouring beer is the best. Being able to adjust the mayo sauce and other toppings yourself was nice. We ended up ordering too much and were stuffed, but since it's flour-based, it wasn't too expensive, and we had a good time. The taste of okonomiyaki can vary, but it was a comfortable place to spend time. The staff were kind and friendly, and they recommended how to eat the dishes. It was delicious, and I will definitely come back.
