This is a teppanyaki restaurant located in a convenient area near Shijo Horikawa. I had been wanting to go there for a while and finally visited. I tried their kotonoyaki, yakisoba, and okonomiyaki, all of which were delicious. The beer was also very cold and tasty.

Near the intersection of Shijo and Horikawa, there is a teppanyaki restaurant known for its variety of meat dishes. Their specialty is the Kotonoyaki beef (tendon and skirt) set with Kyoto sauce for 1,738 yen, grilled tripe with salt for 968 yen, and okonomiyaki pork balls for 1,080 yen with an additional topping of fried garlic for 330 yen. The Kotonoyaki has a rich flavor that would go well with rice. I think their okonomiyaki is tastier than other specialty shops.

On regular days, I enjoy trying out daily lunch sets at different restaurants. However, when a restaurant is known for teppanyaki, I can't help but be curious. So, I decided to switch things up and choose between yakisoba or okonomiyaki. I chose yakisoba this time. It was delicious with shrimp and had a nice crispy flavor.

When I entered without realizing it was a smoking section, the person next to me started smoking and I couldn't leave because I had already placed my order. I didn't feel much consideration for non-smokers, it felt like an all-smoking environment. The service was good and the food was decent, but I won't be visiting again to a place that allows smoking, as it affects people's health. Health comes first.

The grilled dishes were very delicious and made me want to eat a lot, but I had also ordered okonomiyaki so I restrained myself a little. The customer service at the restaurant was also very good, and I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

Today, I was busy so I decided to order delivery using a food delivery app. I ordered from a restaurant called "Kyoto Teppanyaki Yakiniku Kotonohi", which used to be known as "Arata Shijo Horikawa" before closing down and reopening as a new concept on April 1st, 2021. This time, I ordered their most popular dish, the "Agi Salt Yaki", along with a rice bowl. The Agi Salt Yaki is a grilled dish made with salt and pepper-seasoned beef jaw meat, which has been a popular menu item since the days of "Teppanyaki Arata". It has a chewy texture and a flavorful garlic taste. It goes really well with beer! The Yakiniku Don is a rice bowl topped with thick slices of beef cooked with onions and bell peppers, all coated in a secret black sauce. The combination of the meat and the sauce with the white rice is perfect! There were also plenty of vegetables, which was a nice surprise. The total cost, including delivery, was around 2,500 yen through the food delivery app UberEats. It was quite satisfying and filling!
