Visited the bar at the Mitsui Hotel, which I love and have visited many times. Got drunk in Gion. On March 21, 2023, I ordered a hamburger at Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto. It cost 4,300 yen, which was quite expensive, ranking as the third most expensive burger I've ever ordered. The most expensive burger I've ordered in the past was at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka for 5,500 yen in August 2013, followed by The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo for 4,447 yen in June 2019. The one at Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto now ranks third at 4,300 yen in April 2023. The staff at the hotel told me that cherry blossoms were blooming at the Kyoto Imperial Palace, so I decided to visit on my way back. I ordered the Wagyu beef burger with fried potatoes or potato chips on the side for 4,300 yen (including 15% tax), which had Wagyu patty, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and balsamic. I also had Carbonara for 3,200 yen. It was a delicious meal.

We used it with 3 work colleagues during a business trip to Kyoto. The location is right across from one of Kyoto's tourist attractions, Nijo Castle. It is about a 1-minute walk from the subway exit. The hotel has a parking lot, and depending on the amount spent on food and drinks, you may receive a 2-hour service, but it's better to confirm the details with the restaurant. The exterior of the store is very sophisticated, as befitting a luxury hotel, and the courtyard is also spacious. The interior of the store is also quite luxurious with chandeliers and furniture. Since the weather was good and warm that day, we were seated on the terrace and enjoyed the view of the courtyard. The menu includes sandwiches and light meal options. We ordered: - Cake set x 3 (1 shortcake, 1 cheesecake, 1 Mont Blanc) The cakes had no artificial taste, were not too sweet, and were very delicious. The Mont Blanc, in particular, had a refined taste of chestnut and the aroma of liquor. The pricing is on the higher side, with a cup of coffee priced at 1900 yen, but considering the location, interior facilities, and service, it seems like a reasonable pricing.

I had some time between check-out and dinner, so I decided to visit THE GARDEN BAR for a little while. It was dusk, and the changing lights in the courtyard made it look like a painting. I enjoyed two beers, but I really wanted to have whiskey. Next time, I will definitely have whiskey. As I left the bar and turned right, I greeted the bartender in the hotel corridor, which was shining in the sunset. The bartender looked really cool in the sunset (laughs). I will definitely come back again!

This is my second stay at Hotel The Mitsui. Last time, the hotel was not crowded, and I was able to enjoy the thermal spring, bar, and breakfast leisurely before the busy autumn season. This time, it seems like the room occupancy is about double compared to last time. It wasn't a private stay, but still, it's definitely a top brand like Mitsui. The staff are very sophisticated. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel once again. For lunch, I had afternoon tea at Chorakukan, so I opted for a light dinner at THE GARDEN BAR this time, using the support discount coupon. One of the things I look forward to when revisiting Hotel The Mitsui is the service at THE GARDEN BAR by a top bartender. He has been a bartender at luxury hotels for many years, and before Mitsui, he worked at THE BAR at The Ritz-Carlton in Osaka. The interaction and conversation with him are top-notch and very entertaining. He is a bartender with a good spice in the midst of Mitsui's top staff. He even remembered me and although it was a short time, I was very satisfied.

During the year-end Kyoto trip, I took a short break at the lounge of HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO. It's a 3-minute walk from Nijojo-mae Station, so the access by train is quite convenient. I asked for directions at the front desk and was guided to the lounge. The view of the garden in front of me added to the open and relaxing atmosphere. The seats were equipped with outlets, which was thoughtful for travelers. I enjoyed a Mont Blanc and coffee while taking a leisurely break. The Mont Blanc had a subtle sweetness with a distinct chestnut flavor. Overall, the service and ambiance were excellent, so I have given a high rating.

The presentation of TWG tea leaves in a suitcase like a globe-trotter during afternoon tea is impressive. It's delightful to be able to compare scents while choosing. Additionally, the experience starts with a rich chocolate show, a welcome drink from a well-established tea shop, and traditional crafts like tea canisters and wooden trays. With a garden view in front of you, you can fully feel the Japanese essence.

I visited the bar in the hotel where I stayed for the first time. The luxurious setting and the atmosphere created by the lighting inside and outside the bar were very nice. I tried a cocktail recommended by the bartender, which used aged sake (difficult to store due to sugar content), but it had a good taste and the alcohol was not too strong, making it delicious. Enjoying a cocktail in a relaxed atmosphere is truly special! Thank you for the meal~

Afternoon tea in Kyoto with a beautiful ambiance. You can enjoy TWG tea. They offer a variety of stylish finger foods that are delicious and cute. I would love to try this afternoon tea again in a different season.

On the final day, we moved to Kyoto and stayed at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO. Before dinner, we went to this place for some alcohol. First, I had a "Gimlet". It was delicious! The cocktails were made with great care. Then, I tried a "Vesper Vodka" and a "Hakushu Highball". The bartender had graceful movements and the atmosphere of the bar was very pleasant.

When you come to Kyoto, you definitely want to visit Hotel The Mitsui. It is located very close to Nijo Castle. I came here with a friend after visiting Nijo Castle. It may seem difficult to find the entrance, but if you follow the hotel's wall using Google Maps, you will probably find it. Despite the intimidating atmosphere, the staff, including the gatekeepers and taxi drivers waiting in line, were all very kind. The elegant entrance! When asked if we had a reservation, we confirmed that we were only having coffee after lunch, and that was okay! Yay! We walked through a lovely corridor to the cafe. You can also enjoy a beautiful Japanese garden view from the cafe, and the atmosphere is calm with sophisticated-looking people taking photos in the garden. It is recommended to dress nicely when visiting. Everyone was dressed nicely. Ideally, high heels would have been nice, but it was not possible as we were sightseeing by train. The cafe is spacious and has a modern feel. The iced green tea was 1,300 yen, and I think the Mont Blanc was around 1,600 yen. Given the location and atmosphere, it's worth visiting at least once. I stayed at a hotel and it seems that the hotel rooms are not very busy due to the impact of the coronavirus. There are times when the thermal spring in the basement is completely empty, which is great. After enjoying the thermal spring, I visited THE GARDEN BAR, which was also empty. It was a wonderful time to relax at the bar with just the two of us. The bartender was very nice and professional, providing excellent service and engaging in top-notch conversation. If this bar was nearby, I would definitely visit regularly.

As expected of the high-class Afternoon Tea by Mitsui, the entrance was elegant and the interior was truly lovely. Afternoon tea in Kyoto is exceptional! Everything was cute and perfect for photos!
