This is a chain izakaya located in the bustling shopping street. I decided to try their lunch menu since they also offer lunch service. I arrived early in the 11 o'clock hour, so there were hardly any customers yet. They have counter seating which makes it easy for solo diners to enjoy a meal. The menu offers a variety of lunch set meals as well as evening dishes. There is also a wide selection of drinks available. I ordered the Manmaru bento which came with sashimi, tempura, grilled mackerel, tamagoyaki, and salad. It was like a Makunouchi bento and I was happy to have a variety of dishes to enjoy. Although you can enjoy daytime drinking here, it's also a great place to dine without alcohol.

After attending a live event, I wanted to have a drink but there were few open shops and I didn't have much time, so I visited this place in my hometown for the first time in five years. What I ordered: Quail egg simmered in soy sauce, salmon rice ball, doteyaki (grilled beef and intestines skewers), assorted skewers, mentaiko cheese rolled omelette, fried chicken, draft beer, highball. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Frequently seen izakaya chain restaurant, but there are only three stores in Kyoto. Had a light lunch at Manmaru in a major shopping street. Although they offer lunch set menus, I preferred to order a la carte. ★ Grilled beef hoso (thinly sliced beef) - Served on a hot iron plate. It's a Kyoto limited menu and I tried it. The juicy hoso and the sweetness of the vegetables were excellent. ★ Chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste) tempura - Had it after a long time. ★ Ebi chili (shrimp chili) - Large shrimp in abundance. ★ Kushiage (deep-fried skewers) - Shrimp, onion, ham cutlet, chicken thigh, beef cutlet with sauce that prohibits double dipping. The onion was delicious. ★ Tempura - Chicken tenderloin, large leaf, eggplant, squid tempura served with dipping sauce. ★ Sushi - Green onion, fatty tuna, egg, squid, scallop. Enjoyed as much as I wanted. Tastier than expected. ★ Kushi Chazuke - A rare dish where skewers are served in a bowl and you pour dashi over it. Chose the "Healthy" option with lotus root, pickled ginger, and okra vegetable skewers in a bowl. It was enjoyable.

After having a few drinks at Nakashima Island, I got a little hungry and went to a second place in the Otesuji shopping street in Fushimi Momoyama. The restaurant had many bottles of sake lined up at the entrance. The main dish was kushikatsu with a variety of fried foods. They also had a wide selection of sashimi and sushi, which made me happy. I ordered a negitoro roll, deep-fried bamboo ring kushikatsu, and onion and ham cutlet, but I forgot to take a picture... You write down your kushikatsu order on paper yourself, but for everything else, you order directly from the staff to avoid any mistakes.

I experienced dining alone at a izakaya for the first time. I entered the restaurant as soon as it opened and sat at the counter. I enjoyed my meal at my own pace! The staff were also very kind and attentive. It seems to be the concept of the restaurant... although the seats for 3-4 people are well-equipped, sitting alone at this seat may feel a little awkward... However, I had a good time, so it was great!

This year, I returned to Tokyo early and decided to get a haircut before going out for lunch. I planned to start with a drink at a kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I was excited to see the words "OO Liver" posted on the wall in a photo! I asked, "Is it really available?" and was told that it definitely was. While waiting for my long-awaited favorite dish, I toasted with a beer and some kushikatsu. Before long, the dish I had been craving arrived! I quickly devoured it with onions and green onions, dipping it in salt and sesame oil. I was grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the texture of this dish after so long. Although the freshness was not perfect, I applaud the restaurant for offering such a unique menu item.

Before going to buy sake at the brewery, I stopped by for lunch at a different restaurant that I occasionally visit. This was my first time at this restaurant, but it had a lively atmosphere and the service was casual yet polite, which I really liked. The lunch menu was varied and good. I wasn't planning on ordering kushikatsu, but I was impressed by the old-fashioned style of serving the sauce in a large can with a sign saying "No double dipping". This style is not seen much in Osaka even during the pandemic, and I really liked it. The kushikatsu was not too light or too heavy, and I personally enjoyed it. It was fried in salad oil only, which made it light and tasty, although it's not exactly my preference. The restaurant gets quite crowded around lunchtime, so I think it's quite popular. If you plan to visit, it's best to go before noon! I enjoyed my meal. Thank you!

I went to a cozy izakaya with an Osaka vibe for the first time, even though I've been to other branches before. It was the day before Golden Week, and the place was quite lively. I arrived around 9:00 PM, and everyone seemed to be having a great time, chatting and laughing. I started with some random kushikatsu, sashimi, and highball. My throat was dry, so I was eagerly waiting for my drinks to arrive, which felt like it took forever. The veggie first dish was thinly sliced onion with a nice tangy ponzu sauce, easy to eat and deliciously light. Then, my favorite, salmon, was surprisingly affordable and incredibly fatty and tasty. The medium fatty tuna was for my companion, as I'm not a fan of fatty fish. The kushikatsu included shrimp, shishito peppers, and asparagus, no particular comments on those. The problem was the last dish, grilled squid legs with salt. It seemed like they reheated it without covering it, making it extremely tough and dry. My companion struggled to chew it and eventually spat it out. So, I ended up eating all of it, but it felt more like a challenge than a meal. The squid did nothing wrong, but it was difficult to eat. Although the salmon was delicious, I can't give a higher score due to this issue. I hope they improve it.

In the past, I had a bad experience at a restaurant in Nishikujo, Osaka, so my expectations were low before entering this place. However, the outcome was that it was just an average restaurant. As a first stop, I'd say it was a decent start, don't you think?

The restaurant is located near the station and is a popular izakaya. Although there was a similar restaurant next door, I decided to try this one because it was more crowded. However, I was disappointed because the batter on the kushikatsu was dirty. If the batter had been cleaner, it would have been even more delicious. They have a wide variety of menu items, which was impressive. Next time, I might try the restaurant next door instead.

When my friend returns to Kyoto, they always end up coming to this restaurant for some reason. We start with the usual kushikatsu, then enjoy dishes like dashimaki tamago and crunchy cartilage karaage, as well as delicious fish dishes. It was my first time trying pickled ginger with kushikatsu at this restaurant, but once I tried it, I was hooked. The person who usually takes care of us seemed to have suddenly disappeared, according to the staff when I asked about them. It's a shame because they always made our visits enjoyable. I hope to meet them again somewhere.

I went to the Fushimi area but ended up at "Osaka Manmaru" Fushimi Momoyama branch (lol). It's located just a short walk from Fushimi-Momoyama Station towards the shopping street. The draft beer for 290 yen is still cheap! The sashimi platter is 490 yen, and the potato salad is generous. For egg dishes, they have rolled omelette and tonpei-yaki. The skewers are properly fried without double dipping (lol). Despite the approaching typhoon, the restaurant was packed on that day. It's a good place for casual drinking. In this area, there are great ramen places like Daichu and Daikuro, but I had to reluctantly pass on them. Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I had a full lunchtime drink at Manmaru. It's still great.

I have visited this place for lunch several times. They have a wide variety of menu options, the food comes quickly after ordering, it tastes delicious, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The only downside is that the chairs are not very clean! I wonder if the cushions are washed... but other than that, everything is perfect!

Reasonable prices and a wide variety of menu options. Plus, it's a wonderful place where you can enjoy drinking during the day.

The mackerel sushi was 450 yen, and the hot sake was 380 yen. The total was 913 yen. It wasn't necessarily bad, but the sushi wasn't very tasty. Well, I guess that's what you get at this kind of chain restaurant.

Last time we went to the second place on the food crawl, but this time we started at a place with kushikatsu, doteyaki, and potato salad. The prices were reasonable, the taste was okay, and the atmosphere was nice for a longer stay. The chairs were comfortable too.

I ordered the sake-steamed clams for the first time and it was surprisingly generous. It's perfect for a cold night.
