It's been about three years since I decided to start coming here. I didn't have a good impression of kushikatsu before, but I started to like it quite a bit after coming to this restaurant. They serve one skewer at a time and you can stop when you're full, which is great because everyone's stomach capacity is different. Last night, a friend requested a casual restaurant in Akasaka where you can make business talk without a reservation. I recommended this place where you can make same-day reservations easily and have a casual atmosphere conducive to work discussions. With the omakase option, you start with fish like kiss, then move on to beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, etc. A must-try here are the large asparagus and lotus root curry. I also love the clam skewers, and in general, everything tastes delicious. I usually end up getting full after about 17-18 skewers. The only downside is the limited drink selection, especially the lack of variety in sake and the higher-priced wines. But the food is so good that I don't mind spending around 8000-9000 yen for 3-4 drinks.

On this day, I had skewers in Akasaka. Shrimp, beef, octopus, rolled lotus root with curry flavor, eggplant with minced meat x2, green onions and cucumber, snap peas with clams and green onions, tuna, squid with sea urchin sauce, sea bream with grated radish, chicken breast with shiso leaf, stuffed bell peppers with meat, crab claws, konbu seaweed with meat and konjac, corn, scallops. For some reason, eggplant appeared twice, haha. 1 salt, 2 sauce, 3 mustard sauce, 4 soy-based sauce, 5 mustard. We were seated at a table, and the server would bring the appropriate sauce based on the number we mentioned. Personally, I liked the sauce number 3 the best as it had a good punch to it. Despite asking for a slower pace, the server did not seem to listen, perhaps due to the busy crowd. The pace was normal and the skewers did not pile up, which was a good improvement based on previous reviews. I noticed some soot on the wall near our table, which was a bit concerning.

The first time I was taken to a restaurant by a senior colleague, it was a memorable experience. The restaurant served freshly fried skewers right in front of the counter, adjusting to my eating pace. The atmosphere was great and I couldn't believe how affordable it was for such a nice place. The rice and miso soup were refillable, showing their thoughtful service. I always felt like I was getting a special treat there. Unfortunately, I heard that the lunch service will end in June at this beloved Rokuhara restaurant. It's a shame... I won't be able to take my junior colleagues there anymore. But since I've had so many wonderful experiences there, I plan to visit for dinner next time. Thank you for everything so far.

Roppongi people, it's time for a hangover meal. There's a tempura skewers restaurant called "Roppongi" near Akasaka Mitsuke Station? It's right in front of the station, I guess. I heard that they will be ending their lunch service by the end of June 2023, so I knew I had to go there before it's too late! I went there immediately. I arrived a little after 11 am since they start serving at 11 am. The place was already crowded, and I barely got a seat. The customers kept coming in non-stop. It seems like the rumor about the end of the month closure has created a rush to visit the place. Their popular menu items include: - Tempura skewers set for 1000 yen - Premium tempura skewers set for 1500 yen - Special tempura set meal (reservation only) for 2500 yen Since it was my first and last visit, I decided to go all out and chose the premium tempura skewers set. It came with 11 skewers, rice, and miso soup. I was seated at the counter-like area where I could see them frying the skewers. They were busy frying a large number of skewers, and it looked hectic. The premium tempura skewers set included a salad, rice, pickles, and miso soup. The skewers were served one by one on white paper plates. The first ones were chicken, eggplant, and two shrimp skewers. They were freshly fried, crispy, and hot. The shrimp was succulent, and the chicken was juicy. The eggplant was hot, so I had to be careful while eating, but it was delicious. Next came the sand borer fish skewer. It was fried in a folded state, unlike tempura where it's open. Then there were onion and quail skewers. Both were very hot, so I ate them cautiously. The sweetness of the onion came out nicely, and the quail went well with the sauce. There were also squid, pork, croquette, and scallop skewers. The squid was tender and delicious. The croquette had cheese filling inside. The skewers were quite satisfying, and I left the place feeling full. It's a shame that they will no longer serve lunch, but I'm glad I got to try it before the closure. I saw a notice inside the restaurant that they might still serve lunch if you make a reservation. I might consider coming back once the situation settles down. Make sure to visit before the end of June 2023 if you want to try their regular lunch menu!

A specialty deep-fried skewer restaurant near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. Located on the basement floor of a building, the atmosphere is calm and there is a sense of luxury in the decor. The impressive row of counter seats in the restaurant, in addition to table seats, there are also private rooms. The lunch set of skewers costs 1000 yen for 8 skewers, and you can add 3 more for 1500 yen. The value of being able to savor the freshly fried skewers right in front of you is priceless. The shrimp, pork, and chicken skewers were particularly delicious. The quality far exceeds what you would expect for a price in the 1000 yen range. The red miso soup that comes with the meal is also delicious, and you can get seconds of rice. The service is attentive, and the restaurant is lively with many regular customers. It is very disappointing that the lunch menu will be ending at the end of this month. Lunch will be by reservation only in the future, and only the dinner menu will be available.

Happiness is being able to keep eating until you say stop at Akasaka Rokuhara, a delicious kushikatsu restaurant with prices ranging from 8,000 to 9,999 yen! The kushikatsu was perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and a fluffy, steamed interior, truly delicious!! ⭐️5⭐️ I want to keep coming back. I love it so much that I don't want to tell anyone. ⭐️4⭐️ I would recommend this place if asked. ⭐️3⭐️ I might go again. ⭐️2⭐️ Hmm, I would prefer to try a different restaurant. ⭐️1⭐️ Personally, I do not recommend it. Located a 3-4 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, on the basement floor of a building along Hitotsugi Street, is the Kyoto-style skewer restaurant, Rokuhara. While their dinner courses can exceed 10,000 yen with drinks, their lunch menu offers the opportunity to experience their delicious cuisine at a more affordable price. However, a notice on the storefront states that the lunch service will end at the end of June. Lunch reservations will be required, and only the dinner courses will be available. The lunch menu is simple, offering options like a ☆Skewer Set (8 skewers) for 1,000 yen, ☆☆Premium Skewer Set (11 skewers) for 1,500 yen, and ☆☆☆Special Skewer Set (13 skewers) for 2,500 yen. The higher-priced sets feature more luxurious ingredients, with the Special Set requiring a reservation. I opted for the Premium Skewer Set, which was reasonably priced. The restaurant has a counter seating arrangement where freshly fried skewers are served one by one. The meal started with rice, miso soup, small dishes, pickles, and a leafy salad. Then, a variety of skewers including shrimp, pork, chicken, eggplant, quail, egg, squid, scallop, mackerel, and onion were served hot and delicious. The shrimp and pork skewers were particularly tasty, juicy, and flavorful. Rice refills are complimentary, but the initial portion is generous. For 1,500 yen, the luxurious skewer lineup is a great deal. It's truly unfortunate that the lunch service is ending this month, but I understand there may be reasons for it. I look forward to visiting for dinner in the future. -------------------------------------------------------- - Address: B1F Akasaka Hokutsukaido Building, 4-2-2 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo - Nearest Station: 3-minute walk from Exit 10 of Akasaka-Mitsuke Station on various Tokyo Metro lines - Business Hours: Weekdays 17:30 - 22:00 (Last Order 21:30), Saturday 17:00 - 21:00 (Last Order 20:00), Closed on Sundays - Seating Capacity: 66 seats (5 private rooms) - Cards Accepted: VISA / Master / JCB / Amex / Diners -------------------------------------------------------- #AkasakaGourmet #AkasakaLunch #AkasakaMitsukeGourmet #AkasakaMitsukeLunch #Rokuhara #Skewers #SkewerRestaurant #AkasakaIzakaya #AkasakaJapaneseCuisine #AkasakaDinner #AkasakaMitsukeStation #HitotsugiStreet #SkewerSpecialtyShop #KyotoStyleSkewers

One of my favorite lunches in Akasaka Mitsuke. It's such a treat to be able to eat freshly fried skewers at the counter for lunch. After the rice set is brought out, freshly fried skewers are placed one after another. It's quite fast-paced, so keeping up can be a bit challenging, but the freshly fried skewers are really delicious. Especially the fish, it's so fluffy!!!

I indulged in a course of assorted tempura where you can eat until you're full, but they have a system to stop you once you're satisfied. It's so delicious that I ended up eating 15 pieces this time! The menu included shrimp, beef, curry lotus root, vegetable tempura, young sweetfish, minced raw sea bream, clam, crab claw, tuna, kelp with fish roe, grunt fish, eggplant, potato with butter, shiitake mushroom, and asparagus. I enjoyed them along with all-you-can-eat fresh vegetables.

The restaurant seems fancy at night, but their lunch deal is amazing! I managed to get a seat at the counter where the chef fries each skewer one by one and serves it right in front of you. I didn't know they offer a 1000 yen lunch special (8 skewers) limited to 50 servings. That day, I enjoyed shrimp, quail, pork, chicken, lotus root, squid, and more. The skewers were crispy and hot, freshly fried. It's impossible for them not to be delicious, right? Despite the line, the service was quick and efficient. Great value for money, I felt like I got a good deal with this solo lunch.

<March 2023 revisit> Just a 2-3 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station... This upscale tempura skewer restaurant is located in a mixed-use building on Hitotsugi Street B1. While it is considered high-end in the evenings, during lunchtime they offer cost-effective set meals. With its luxurious atmosphere, this popular restaurant is a standout in the area known for its many great eateries. I recently had the chance to revisit this place after many failed attempts due to it being sold out or booked for private events. Finally, I managed to visit the restaurant again after about 7 years. I arrived just before noon on a weekday and the place was almost full, with even the reserved seats taken. Luckily, I was able to secure a spot just in time. [Order Details] - Upper tempura skewer set (1500 yen) In the past, the lunch set was a single option of 8 skewers for 1000 yen, but now they have added a 13-piece premium special set and an 11-piece upper tempura skewer set, priced at 1500 yen. I decided to splurge a bit and ordered the upper tempura skewer set. As soon as the order was placed, the skewers started coming out one after another. Along with the skewers, the set included rice, red miso soup, salad, pickles, and side dishes. While I recommend checking the photos for a detailed look, the set on this day included 2 shrimp skewers, eggplant, chicken tenderloin, tilefish, onion, squid, quail, pork, smelt, and lotus root. Each skewer, though small, was beautifully coated in a crispy golden batter. I was particularly impressed by the smelt skewer, which had a perfect balance of tender flesh and bitter roe. The quality of all the ingredients was top-notch, just as I had expected from a high-end restaurant. As always, the red miso soup and side dishes were outstanding. The tempura skewers were delicious on their own, but dipping them in the sauce provided added a whole new level of flavor. Even though 11 skewers were a bit much for my stomach, the luxury and taste were worth it. The restaurant's clean interior and welcoming atmosphere make it a versatile dining spot that caters to both men and women. Despite its popularity, I hope to visit again when the timing is right. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited around 13:15 on a weekday and was able to enter without waiting in line. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and nice. I ordered the 1000 yen lunch set. They fry the ingredients right in front of you and serve them as soon as they are done. The set included shrimp, pork, chicken, onion, squid, quail, smelt, and eggplant. The crispy coating was delicious! Great value for the price. I didn't know they only serve 50 sets a day, and luckily I just made it in time as they sold out shortly after. Highly recommended!

It's been a while since I went to Akasaka Mitsuke. Today my friend recommended Ropparo, saying it's delicious. We had the omakase course. They kept bringing more until we said we were full. It may not look like much in the photos (lol), but it was really delicious - light and carefully prepared. Stuffed onion, beef with myoga, crab claws, okra, bacon, konjac with something, sea urchin sauce, oyster skewers, hamaguri, rice cake, kelp, chicken breast, salmon, mushrooms, stuffed shiitake mushrooms, wakasagi, shrimp, octopus, eggplant with red bean paste, bread with butter, chicken something, asparagus, quail eggs, baby corn, chicken, and more. We also tried various sauces like soy sauce with mustard, spicy sauce, and salt for the fried skewers. We had a Trigai on the rocks - it was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

This is a skewer restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. The interior has counter seats, tables, and even private rooms in the back. The staff provides excellent service, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I made a reservation for the special skewer lunch course priced at 2500 yen. The course includes 8 basic skewers and 5 premium skewers, along with side dishes, salad, miso soup, and rice. Rice refills are free. The skewers are served fresh and hot, with a variety of options like shrimp, mackerel, squid, quail, lotus root, and beef, all delicious. You can season them with sauce or salt, but I recommend salt. The batter is light and crispy, and the quality of the ingredients is exceptional. With 13 skewers, you'll definitely leave satisfied, making it a great value for the price. I highly recommend trying this lunch course by making a reservation.

Lunch on this day was a rare fried food mood. I really wanted to go to "Masamune" a little further away, but I have a meeting early in the afternoon. So, I decided to visit this place near the office instead. ① Exterior, atmosphere, interior of the shop It's about a 3-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. Since it's located underground, it's good to follow the menu signboard on the street when visiting for the first time. The interior of the shop has a calm atmosphere with a sense of cleanliness and many female customers. There is a counter seat that surrounds the frying area, so you can enter without hesitation even if you are alone. ② About the food At night, the prices are reasonable, but there are affordable set menus for lunch. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the cheapest "kushiage set". Soon, salad, small dishes, rice, miso soup, and pickles are served. Next, the skewered items are put into the pot of oil in front of you, and you can hear a good sizzling sound. First, shrimp and pork. The shrimp provided at this price is of high quality. It has a firm texture and enough sweetness. The pork is also easy to eat with lean meat. Next, eggplant, young sweetfish, and quail eggs. I was surprised and happy to be able to eat young sweetfish at this price. It had a refreshing aroma and bitterness unique to sweetfish, and the flesh was tender. Bamboo ring, chicken tenderloin, squid. Although the ingredients are cheap, the cooking is skillful, so it doesn't have a cheap finish. Overall, it was crispy and light with a thin coating. The good scent of lard stimulates the appetite. There were salt and sauce on the table, but since the white rice goes well with this lunch set, I felt that the sauce was more compatible. ③ About the staff The two female staff members in the hall were managing it. Basic aspects such as greetings and guiding to the seats were done brightly and politely without any problems. The male fryer also served me according to my eating speed, and I was happy that he gave me a free skewer as the lunchtime was ending. ④ About the cost performance I thought it was a good deal to be able to have a kushiage lunch for 1,000 yen in such a convenient location near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station. The atmosphere of the shop was calm and relaxing, and the staff's service was also good. Overall, I think the cost performance is good. ⑤ Other things noticed Having freshly fried kushiage with a beer in hand also seems enjoyable.

Today's lunch was in the mood for fried food. I was wondering where to go for lunch when I saw Endo-san already waiting outside, and a while ago I saw Kurasu-san, who I had forgotten about. I quickly went down the stairs and entered the restaurant. There were still a few seats available, so I ordered the basic assorted fried skewers set for 1,000 yen. The meal started with a salad and a small side dish, followed by a small bowl of rice and miso soup. Then the first four skewers arrived - eggplant, shrimp, chicken, and saury - all seasoned with salt. The skewers were coated in a thin layer of fine bread crumbs and fried in high-quality lard, making them incredibly delicious. The shrimp was crispy all the way to the tail, the chicken was tender, and the saury was just right with the salt. The second half of the set included squid, onion, quail egg, and pork, which were served with sauce. The squid was thick and tender, and the pork had been marinated well. The set of eight skewers was enough for a satisfying lunch, and I even had a second helping of rice. By the time I finished eating, there were more customers waiting outside. It's definitely a popular spot. I think I'll visit again for some fried skewers and drinks in the evening sometime soon.

Lunch at a skewer restaurant in Akasaka Mitsuke. I usually only go to Tanaka for skewers, so I'm a bit intimidated by the high-end atmosphere. I ordered the skewer lunch set. It came with 11 skewers, salad, pickles, namul, and miso soup. The veteran chef at the counter keeps frying them one after another. There were shrimp, squid, white fish, quail egg, scallop, eggplant, chicken, cabbage sprouts, pork, and a special skewer with oyster. The frying was done perfectly, especially the juicy chicken and thick oyster. Very satisfying. The only downside is that I wanted to eat the skewers while they were still hot, so I couldn't finish all the rice. The skewers are served little by little, so it doesn't look great for photos. It would probably be better to enjoy them with drinks at night.

A popular tempura skewer restaurant in the fiercely competitive lunch area of Akasaka. Once you order, the courses of tempura skewers are promptly lined up one after another. It might be more relaxing to eat if it were a little slower. It's delicious, but it's a bit disappointing that it cools down quickly. #Roppongi #TempuraSkewers #Akasaka #AkasakaLunch #TokyoLunch

Located in the basement of a building up Ichigokaido Street in Akasaka, this restaurant specializes in kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers). The interior, centered around the counter, has a calm atmosphere. The omakase course is a spectacular kushikatsu festival. Various vegetables are served with three different sauces and salt, and the course kicks off with a flurry. Over 30 types of seafood and meat can be enjoyed. Each skewer is finished and served at the perfect timing after finishing the previous one. Both the seafood and meat were delicious, but my favorite was the asparagus. It was fresh, juicy, big, and long. It was amazing. This may have been the first time I've eaten so much kushikatsu. I want to visit this restaurant again.

When it comes to eating kushikatsu in Akasaka, this place is the best choice. The kushikatsu is very delicious, with a light batter and oil, allowing you to eat a lot without feeling heavy. You might end up eating too much without realizing it. They offer soy sauce, sesame sauce, sauce, and salt for dipping the skewers, and the recommended way is to leave it to the staff to choose for you. You can also let them know your preferences or dislikes in advance, so you can enjoy your favorite items to your heart's content. If you ask about the prices beforehand, you can dine with peace of mind. You will definitely leave satisfied.
