From Fukuchiyama Station, head east from the North Exit intersection. Turn right at the intersection of "Nai-ki 1-chome" where the court and legal affairs bureau are located (southbound). Pass under the elevated tracks of the San'in Main Line and continue straight ahead until you reach a quirky intersection, where the restaurant is located on the right-hand corner. There doesn't seem to be a parking lot. Although the restaurant unfortunately doesn't serve lunch, I stopped by in the evening after finishing some business in the city. This was because when I asked my female colleagues at work for recommendations on a delicious yakiniku restaurant, three of them immediately said, "Shinsei Horumon!" So, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was already filled with smoke despite the early hour, with regular customers everywhere. We managed to find a table, but since the tables were connected, it felt like we were sharing a table with others (laughs). Since I had to drive, I ordered rice and "Tetchan, Harami". After a short wait, Kakuteki, Namul, and cabbage were served. It seemed like a service. Then came the meat. The Tetchan was beautifully cleaned of fat when placed on the grill. When I tasted it, it had a crispy texture and paired perfectly with the sauce. It was delicious! I eagerly ate the rice. The Harami had a lot of fat, causing flames to rise. I took a bite without overcooking it. It was also delicious! The rice disappeared quickly. With Namul and Kakuteki as palate cleansers, I quickly finished the meal. I was too full to order more, so I settled the bill promptly and left the restaurant. I had all that food and the bill came to ¥1,800. It seems that Tetchan was ¥700, Harami was ¥800, so maybe the rice was ¥300? The value for money may not be the best, but considering that Namul and Kakuteki were included, and the meat was of decent quality, it seemed reasonable. When I reported back to my colleagues later, they asked, "Did you try the Horumon Udon that we recommended?" I didn't have room in my stomach for that... All my colleagues highly recommend this udon. If you have room in your stomach, be sure to try it! This restaurant was recommended by three people. Although the atmosphere may seem intimidating at first glance, it's definitely worth a visit.
