I bought Ichigo Daifuku and Ohagi from a mochi shop loved by the locals. I also saw some small mochi for offerings and couldn't resist buying them. Lately, it's been hard to find small mochi without making a reservation, so I was grateful to come across them. The Ohagi with sweet bean paste had a good balance of mochi and rice. The Ichigo Daifuku had red bean paste with whole beans.

Located on the street one block east of Sanjo Street in Kyoto, there is a long-established mochi shop called "Takara Mochi". This shop has been around for over 80 years and is known for its delicious red rice, ohagi, and mitarashi dango. The master of the shop is a true artisan of traditional Japanese sweets, who can talk about them all day long. The shop has won various awards and collaborated with top companies. The master even showed us old branding irons from the past. On this day, we bought ohagi and sakura mochi to take home, and they were incredibly delicious. If you ever have any questions about Japanese sweets, feel free to ask the kind master at "Takara Mochi"!

I went to this shop a little off the main street that had "mochi" in its name, which got me excited. I bought a delicious red bean rice for 400 yen (tax included). It tasted like red beans, but I was surprised by the large beans and asked if they were indeed red beans, and they were. The red beans are grown by a contracted farmer. The rice cake also had plenty of chestnuts with broken parts used in wagashi. It was a bit softer than I prefer, but it was still delicious!

I found it while strolling down the street. It's a traditional Japanese sweets shop that seems to be loved by locals for many years. They also sell Mitarashi dango, but this time I bought Ichigo Daifuku. Ah, I really love the strawberry daifuku with black bean paste. It was delicious.

Takara Mochi, an old-established mochi shop, is our favorite. We use their services more than 7 times a month. In spring, we enjoy Yomogi dango and Ichigo Daifuku, in June it's Mizunomono, in summer it's Mizuyokan, in autumn it's Tsukimi dango and Bikkuri mochi, in winter it's Ichigo Daifuku. They have a wide variety of dishes at very affordable prices. You can just call them and they will deliver to your home. The staff at the shop is very friendly. My husband is very enthusiastic about their products. We use their services more than 7 times a month, and the cost performance is excellent. The dishes are suitable for gifts and always delicious. Today, my mother injured her index finger, so we ordered from Takara Mochi. We ordered Mizunomono, Sansai Okowa, and Akameshi for a total of ¥2870. The owner was happy when I mentioned writing a review on Tabelog last time, and even brought me a box of high-quality drip coffee. The owner mentioned that on June 30th, they will have seven types of Mizunomono, so I should try them out. I used to not like Mizunomono, but after trying it, I found it to be delicious. So, starting from May, I have been buying Mizunomono frequently. We always order Sansai Okowa and Akameshi when we can't decide what to eat. Mizunomono will end on June 30th, but I'm looking forward to enjoying Mizuyokan during the hot summer. Takara Mochi always has innovative products, even during the hot summer when traditional sweets may not sell well. They received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award a few years ago, which shows their commitment to quality. In September, they will introduce Bikkuri Mochi with a whole Tamba chestnut, and in October, they will have Tsukimi dango. In December, they will offer Ichigo Daifuku and Mitarashi dango. Throughout the year, they have a variety of products that are loved by everyone. Their sweets are priced around ¥150 each, making them perfect for gifts. Their small shop offers great value for money, and we are always satisfied with the quantity we receive for ¥1000. We have been using Takara Mochi frequently this year, and their sweets are loved by everyone, including my brother who doesn't like sweets.

I usually drive past this shop, but with the arrival of the fruitful autumn, I decided to stop by and see what they have. I was looking for the seasonal limited edition chestnut mochi. Chestnut mochi \170 - It was surprising to find whole fresh chestnuts inside. The combination of smooth red bean paste and chestnut was excellent. Matsutake mushroom mochi \160 - Visually a bit disappointing as the filling was just red bean paste. The prices including tax were very reasonable. I would definitely like to buy the chestnut mochi again next season. The matsutake mushroom mochi was just average. It looked very cute, so I wish there was an extra touch to the filling.

I had been curious for a while, so I decided to go in by myself. A friendly woman welcomed me, which was nice. I ended up buying strawberry daifuku this time! I had been determined to buy it ever since I saw the flag in front of the store. I bought 3 for 166 yen each. They were wrapped carefully. There were other types of daifuku available, but I decided to try them next time. I will definitely use this shop again in the future.
