Once a month, I must visit Tenkaippin! As someone born and raised in Kyoto, this title is engraved in my heart. So, I ordered the daily special set meal at Tenkaippin as usual for 1050 yen. My impression remains the same, it's delicious. I will continue to visit Tenkaippin in various locations.

Tried the new Kotteri MAX ramen at Tenichi! The soup sticks to the noodles more than regular kotteri ramen. When you eat the noodles, the soup decreases quite a bit. The flavor is not as rich as I expected! I felt a little thirsty afterwards, but I didn't dislike it! Thank you for the meal.

I went to Tenka seeking the usual flavor. This time, I ordered the Double Rich Tianjin Rice set for 1200 yen (tax included). As expected, it had the familiar taste I've enjoyed since long ago. However, the Double Rich Tianjin Rice was just okay, not as tasty as the regular Tianjin Rice. If I crave it again, I will come back.

After more than ten years, I went back to Tenichi's Ogura♪ The menu seems to have changed completely, right? Of course, it's been a while. We wanted to share a variety of dishes, but the single dishes have decreased. We ended up sharing gyoza, ladies set, and vegetable stir-fry. Since they are in mini portions, it's nice for when you want to try a variety of dishes alone. The new rich fried chicken was delicious! The gyoza, freshly cooked, was great with beer. The noodles were like this, huh? They were thin and delicious. It was my first time trying them (*^^*) It's a popular ramen shop among Kyoto residents that hasn't changed. There weren't many photos, but it was a feast. Thank you for the meal♡

I visited after several years because I heard they serve a rich Tianjin rice dish. The Tianjin rice had a thick soup around it, which was quite flavorful. I also ordered garlic, which seemed to be served as a side. There was no saltiness, so you have to adjust the flavor by adding ramen soup base yourself. The soup was delicious. The fact that you can eat it for 550 yen when ramen costs over 800 yen is great. I'm not expecting much from the noodles or chashu here.

I went to Tenkaippin to try their new Kotteri Tenshinhan that was introduced in January. Some stores may not have it, so I called ahead to confirm. The restaurant was full, but there were only two other people besides us eating the Tenshinhan. The dish had an extremely thick soup, which was incredibly delicious.

Today, I visited this restaurant with my wife and son, who wanted to eat ramen from Tenkaippin. When looking at the menu, I found a new item called "Miso Ramen" (870 yen) and decided to order it. The bowl came with chopped green onions, bean sprouts, and minced meat, giving it a different appearance from the usual Tenkaippin ramen. When I tried the soup, it had a strong miso flavor but surprisingly wasn't too rich. It had a medium thickness between rich and light. The noodles were the same as the rich ramen but cooked softer, allowing them to blend well with the crunchy bean sprouts. I enjoyed the different textures. The minced meat in the soup was scooped up with a spoon and added an extra layer of flavor. This ramen was quite different from the usual "rich" style at Tenkaippin, offering a unique experience for those looking to try something new.

Visited with my eldest son and his wife. I was invited, but I usually have morning ramen at a certain place, so I don't usually order miso ramen at Tenkaippin. This time, I ordered miso ramen with minced meat, bean sprouts, and green onions. The noodles had a different texture from the regular menu, with a medium thickness that paired well with the miso soup. The color of the miso was dark, but the basic flavor of Tenkaippin was still present, surprisingly delicious! If you like miso, you'll definitely enjoy this. I savored the crunchy bean sprouts and finished every last bit in the bowl, even seeing the message at the bottom.

I went to Tenichi after a long time. The garlic gyoza was a bit oily, or is it just me? It seems heavier than before. Super oily dishes seem to be too much for me now. They had dishes like oyster fry set and shrimp fry set. It seems like the menu varies depending on the location. Thank you for the meal.

Finally got it! The special 50th-anniversary menu at Tenkaippin, available from 2/1 to 2/28, limited to 5 customers per day at all locations except the main store, priced at 1200 yen for the "super rich" option. I decided to take on the challenge at the Ogura store in Uji. I arrived 10 minutes before opening, but there were already 2 people waiting ahead of me! I lined up as the third person, and in no time, we reached the limit of 5 customers before the store even opened! It was my first time seeing customers lining up at this Ogura store, quite an experience! Eventually, I managed to place my order and patiently waited for it to arrive. While waiting, a few customers who were seeking the "super rich" option ended up leaving. I received my bowl within 10 minutes. First of all, the bowl was different! It was a black bowl with a golden logo and pattern, giving off a special vibe! The appearance was super simple, with only green onions as toppings! It was a straightforward challenge with confidence! First, I tried the soup. Compared to the usual rich soup, it was much thicker. Despite its thickness, it wasn't overwhelming and had a condensed sweetness from the onions along with the umami of vegetables and chicken broth. The richness of the soup was achieved without just adding fats, resulting in a rich and deep flavor without being heavy. When mixed well, garlic and chili peppers from the bottom blended in, adding more depth and punch to the taste. The noodles were soft and medium-thin, with a chewy texture that captured the rich soup well. Just like the regular rich option, by the time I finished the noodles, there was almost no soup left, and I finished it all. The message at the bottom of the bowl did appear! For fans of Tenkaippin's rich ramen, this bowl is a must-try. Whether you think the 1200 yen price for a bowl without any toppings is worth it or not, I recommend giving it a try if you have the chance!

I was embarrassed to admit that I had never tried it before. So, I decided to give it a try as a passerby. The clientele was quite surprising, with many people with black hair and leopard prints (laughs). It seems to be that kind of area. I heard that there are such areas in the southern part of Kyoto. I wonder why rich flavors have become popular in the Kyoto area. If anyone knows, please tell me. The richness of the broth exceeded my expectations. When I lifted the noodles, they all came up together. It seems like this is the power of the people in Kyoto. You can't get this kind of power from Yudofu (laughs). But I thought I should visit the main store of Shinpukusai-kan.

I haven't had breakfast yet, so I decided to grab a bite before heading to work. I didn't want to have garlic breath when meeting people, so I went with extra green onions. Today, I ordered the "Ajitama Ramen" with roast pork, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The soup was rich and thick, but not too salty compared to the main store, which I prefer. The soup coated the noodles well, giving them a nice color and rich flavor that I enjoyed. However, the saltiness from biting into the seasoned egg was a bit intense, making me wonder if it's not good for my health if I eat it too often. Despite that, it was delicious, and I managed to finish it all.

After the consumption tax increase, I hadn't been here. The standard ramen is 780 yen including tax. Previously, there was a set menu with dishes, rice, ramen, and a drink for 1280 yen. This set menu is no longer available. Without dishes like pork kimchi, I focused more on the ramen and it tasted somewhat better. However, the large chashu pork slices were thin and overall, the 780 yen ramen was nothing special. There are not many customers drinking beer at night. Perhaps it's a sign of the times.

I visited Tenkaippin on their annual special day that I always look forward to. It was around 8 pm and raining, but there was a huge line. There were families and people coming from work, all waiting. I think I waited for over 40 minutes. On this day, I had my favorite rich ramen with gyoza, rice, and pickles in the gyoza set. The rich ramen was delicious as always. This richness is addictive. Thank you for the meal. I received a free voucher, so I'm looking forward to going again. I ate the rice, pickles, and gyoza until I was full.

I come to this restaurant when I feel a bit under the weather and want to have some garlic. As usual, I thought, "I used to eat here 20 years ago." There are families, couples, and various types of people here. They offer a set menu of ramen, side dish, small rice, and draft beer for 1290 yen. I started with the pork kimchi. I ate it while holding a beer mug, but no matter how much I ate, it was just kimchi. Finally, I found some pork at the bottom. The rich ramen has noodles that are decently firm. The rich soup hasn't evolved and remains thick. I wonder if it's the same as it was during my student days. It used to be delicious. This chain restaurant undergoes frequent changes, but maybe this particular branch has maintained the same taste for 20 years. My friend tells me not to eat cheap food. I need to think about that too.

Today, after a drinking party, I stopped by a nearby Tenkaippin to have some ramen as a finishing touch. It had been a while since I last visited Tenkaippin. I ordered the classic rich and garlic ramen. Even though I was already full from the drinking party, I finished it all with a smile. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited Tenkaippin. This is a place I often stop by. In the past, the staff were not very friendly, but lately I've noticed more smiles, making it a more comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the pork kimchi set meal. As always, the rich and flavorful broth is delicious. It may be getting heavier as I get older, but it's still one of my favorite ramen dishes. Thank you for the meal.

Char siu ramen for 870 yen and fried oysters for 460 yen. It had been a long time since I visited the Kokura branch. One thing about Tenka Ippin is that the taste of the ramen can vary slightly depending on the location. This particular branch has always had a strangely light flavor! So, I ordered the char siu ramen with extra richness in hopes that the taste had changed. I also ordered the seasonal limited menu item, fried oysters, which had been heavily promoted. First, I dug into the char siu ramen. The appearance and smell were definitely Tenka Ippin. A soul food for Kyoto locals! When I took a sip of the soup, it was indeed light! It almost felt like it had been diluted with water. The taste hadn't changed after all. The noodles were a bit overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture. As for the fried oysters, they were small in size and lacked the milky flavor of oysters. The batter was hard, as if it had been double-fried, with a slightly disappointing oily smell. However, getting 5 pieces at this price was a good deal! It was within my expectations in terms of quality. The variation in taste between branches is a notable aspect of Tenka Ippin. This is just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. Despite the tough competition in the ramen industry, this branch has been in business for many years and can be quite busy on certain days! They definitely have a strong fan base. Truly deserving of the name Tenka Ippin! \̏(º̻∇º̻)/̋

Visited on Saturday night, December 22, 2018, a little after 7 pm. The tables were almost full, but the counter was empty. I ordered the regular firm noodles, rich and with garlic. Had to wait a bit due to the timing. The taste was undeniably delicious. The rich broth at Tenkaippin is different from the typical chicken broth, making it a truly original flavor. Tenkaippin never disappoints, no matter where you eat it!

The dish includes roast pork, kimchi, bamboo shoots, and green onions. I ordered the "Kimchi Ramen" with extra green onions and everything else normal! The rich soup has a coarse texture and is quite flavorful. Compared to a long time ago, it has become more delicious. The noodles were cooked normally and had a good elasticity, with a nice texture that goes well with the soup. The kimchi had a slightly over-fermented sourness, which added depth to the flavor. I recommend this dish to those who like a bit more spiciness.
